This old shop in Pingtung that sells tomato plates is really special, especially that mysterious dipping sauce, which is truly the soul of the dish! This sauce is made from soy paste, minced ginger, licorice powder, and powdered sugar, creating a flavor that's salty and sweet with a unique aroma of licorice. Dipped with fresh, crunchy, and sweet tomatoes, it surprisingly pairs perfectly—it's unforgettable after just one taste.
Not only do they have their signature tomato plate, but they also offer shaved ice, fruit desserts, and various fresh juices. There are so many choices! On a hot day, having a cold bowl of fruit shaved ice or a refreshing glass of juice is incredibly satisfying!
This kind of traditional flavor is becoming increasingly rare. You must try it when you visit Pingtung, especially that dish with the mysterious dipping sauce—it's definitely worth praising!
"Watermelon Juice from Guadong" is considered one of the well-established juice stalls, specializing in fresh watermelon juice. They don't add anything strange; it's simply pure watermelon blended. It tastes very refreshing, and the best part is that it's not pricey, offering good value for money. In summer, walking around the night market and buying a large cup of watermelon juice instantly cools you down, and it's really quite pleasant.
In fact, there is also a stall of the same brand over at Yizhong Street, with consistent quality and a similar taste. Compared to other juice stands at the night market, this one is above average; it doesn't have that watered-down feeling, nor is it so sweet that you start to wonder if they've added a bunch of syrup.
However, what's a bit strange is that the Google reviews for this shop aren't actually high. I was a bit surprised when I first saw that because I personally think it’s at least above average and there aren’t any major downsides.
In summary, if you come to the Zhongxiao Night Market and are thirsty but don't want a hand-shaken drink, this watermelon juice is a good choice. The price is reasonable, the quality is stable, and it's especially refreshing in the summer.
While strolling through the Yongda Night Market and feeling thirsty, I came across "Tainan Papaya King," which happened to be a shop that serves fresh fruit juices. I ordered a cup of papaya milk.
Nowadays, the prices for papaya milk are rising everywhere, but this shop's prices are still within an acceptable range. When placing my order, I specifically told the owner not to add sugar, and he reminded me, "The papayas in this season are not very sweet, so if you don’t add sugar, it might lack flavor."
When I actually tasted it, I was pleasantly surprised. Although the papaya itself isn’t particularly sweet, the combination with milk created a smooth texture, and at least it wasn’t watery.
This shop gave me a feeling of being very genuine; they provide the necessary reminders and prepare the drinks as they should be, without adding random ingredients just to please customers. It’s all good!
This store is a fruit shop located on Dongzhang Road, offering a wide variety of items including fresh produce, meat, ice cream, frozen goods, snacks, instant noodles, beverages, and more—everything you could need!
Most importantly, they sell bento boxes that I think are very affordable. 🥹 Today, I bought a fried chicken leg bento for 85 NT dollars, and I could choose three side dishes. The white rice can be switched to fried noodles or fried rice vermicelli without extra charge; switching to brown rice or fried rice costs an additional 5 NT dollars. However, you shouldn't exceed the portion limits as extra charges will apply.
They also have fried noodles for 10 NT dollars per box, with a limit of 5 boxes per person, and fried rice for 25 NT dollars of the same size.
Specific seasonal dumplings for Winter Solstice and Lantern Festival are also available at discounted prices.
Photography is not allowed inside the store, so I don't have any pictures. 😢
There is a parking lot in the adjacent alley, and scooters can also be parked in designated spots in the side alley.
"The Guava Juice and Freshly Cut Guava Specialty Store" near Zhonghua Road in Yongkang, Tainan, can be considered a hidden gem in the area. I stumbled upon it by chance. Their main offerings of guava juice and freshly cut guava are quite appealing, especially on hot days when a cold cup of guava juice is incredibly refreshing.
I ordered a cup of guava juice, and it tasted very refreshing, not overly sweet, probably without much added sugar, giving it a natural fruity aroma. In terms of price, I think it's reasonable—not particularly cheap, but for the quality of pure fruit juice, it's worth it.
The guavas in the store are quite large, and the owner is very friendly, even cutting up a small bag of freshly cut guava for us to try, which was a nice touch! Surprisingly, the freshly cut guava was sweeter than the guava juice, with a wonderfully crunchy texture that was very satisfying to eat.
Overall, this store takes a simple approach. The offerings are unpretentious, the prices are not rock-bottom, but the quality makes it enjoyable. Especially given the owner's warm attitude. If you're passing through Yongkang and happen to want some healthy juice, this place is definitely worth a try.

I saw it on an IG REELS video a while ago
The cactus juice used in this guava restaurant
As a Penghu foodie
You shouldn’t let go of this cool thing🤤
I searched the store address and went on a pilgrimage right away~
I found out that this restaurant is open in ⬇️
The famous dim sum street in Magong City - Minquan Road
Compile the list of things you can buy at Dim Sum Street
After reading this list, you will know why it is a dim sum street.
All the things you want for afternoon tea can be bought nearby
In the next street, you can also buy Jade Crown Fairy Grass and Purple Jade Fairy Grass 👍🏻
So now let’s share the fresh guava
Licorice Cactus Small $70 / Large $140
Red cactus sauce
Paired with crispy and juicy guava
Personally, I think it matches well and there’s nothing wrong with it 🤣
In fact, cactus juice has no taste.
So paired with the rich flavor of guava
There is no sense of hierarchy in terms of taste.
It can be said that the visual enjoyment is greater than the taste
In terms of price, 140 per serving is actually quite expensive.
The portion size is about two guava.
The size is average and the taste is not up to that price range.
But the seasoned fruit shop,
It cannot be measured by market purchase price.
After all, there are also the costs of personnel, stores, convenience, and seasoning.
Personally, I think licorice passion fruit or licorice lemon
It should be more distinctive👍🏻
I would like to try it next time
If you come to Dim Sum Street and buy a lot of greasy things
In fact, I also highly recommend Guava Fresh Food
Freshly cut fruits are very fresh and convenient
Lots of flavor options
Portions are also divided into large or small portions
Worth a try~
The fruits of "Miss You Fruit", this fruit store in City Hall Station, broke my imagination of traditional fruit stores. The decoration is elegant and has a literary and youthful feel. The fruit shop with novel decoration style uses warm colors and bright yellow light to complement the wooden boxes displaying the fruits, creating a warm and energetic space atmosphere. With the appropriate shades of warmth, the guests who come to the store feel Comfortable and relaxing.
I found this place by accident. The boss was very patient and explained carefully. The juices are also very fresh and the price of the fruit gift boxes is affordable.
Open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., prices are not much different from traditional market prices.
Today I had the "Fruit Cut Plate", which cost NT$100 for a full plate, with a mix of various fruits, suitable for those who eat out without nutrition.
all in all,
Imported fruits are of excellent quality, noble and affordable
You can consider coming here during holidays, business discussions, company gifts or personal gifts!
There are many shops selling guava on Yongxing Street, but some of them don't taste very good. They usually don't let you choose the seasoning, but when you put it on, you find it doesn't match well or it doesn't have the full flavor.
So I think this restaurant is the best guava I have ever eaten on Yongxing Street.
I don't usually like to eat fruit, but its crispness, licorice flavor, and plum powder are all very good, so it's 100 yuan for a large portion.
