Hello everyone, I'm Jiedou! Today I want to share with you a super popular Italian restaurant, which is Bite 2 Eat, and this time I visited the Tainan Chongxue store. This place is famous for its handmade pizzas, but their pasta and fried foods are also outstanding! This time I ordered the white wine clam pasta, a fried platter, and their signature pizza, and each dish truly satisfied me!
White Wine Clam Pasta
Let’s start with the dish I was looking forward to the most—the white wine clam pasta. When it arrived, I was amazed by the abundance of clams; they were large, incredibly fresh, and exuded the unique aroma of white wine, which was simply therapeutic just to smell. The pasta was cooked to perfection with great elasticity, absorbing the essence of the clams and white wine, and the texture and aroma were superb. The broth wasn’t too rich; instead, it had a light and refreshing quality, with a hint of saltiness and a subtle alcohol fragrance that combined wonderfully with the sweet freshness of the clams. The overall taste was very balanced. The quality of the clams and the seasoning of this pasta are truly commendable; anyone who loves seafood flavors must try it!
Fried Platter
The fried platter was a delightful surprise! The platter was very rich in variety, featuring fried chicken nuggets, French fries, onion rings, and more, all fried to a crisp without feeling greasy at all. Everything was served piping hot, and just looking at it was appetizing. The chicken nuggets were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the French fries were golden and crunchy, and the onion rings were fried just perfectly, with a crispy outer layer and sweet onion inside. Paired with the special dipping sauce, the salty and savory flavors were elevated, making it a great appetizer for sharing among friends!
Handmade Pizza
Lastly, we couldn't miss the signature dish of Bite 2 Eat—handmade pizza! I ordered the classic flavor pizza this time, which had a thin crust with a slight crisp, baked to a lightly charred finish that was already outstanding by itself. The cheese had excellent stretch with a rich creamy flavor in every bite. The toppings were also plentiful, and the overall seasoning wasn’t too heavy, making it easy to enjoy without feeling greasy. The pizza crust had a delightful crispness combined with a bit of chewiness; you could truly feel the sincerity of the handmade preparation. It was absolutely delicious!

"Zhuan Zhuan discovered that the pasta restaurant is located in the Gongguan shopping district of Zhongzheng District, Taipei City. The nearest MRT station is Gongguan Station Exit 1, about a 3-minute walk away. The shop's sign is currently missing, making it difficult to spot from across the street. The shop is not large, with about 22 seats, and the distance between tables and chairs is quite close.
Customers find their own seating for dining in, and the staff provides a paper menu. After filling it out, customers place their order at the counter to pay, with cash and a variety of payment methods available. The restaurant also takes delivery orders, with the tablet ringing non-stop.
For dining in, customers can grab free drinks, which are quite mild in flavor. I ordered corn chowder and garlic bread for $60, and it was served quickly. The corn chowder was of the kind that is commonly offered as free (it used to be free, but now there's a charge); it had very little corn and was quite watery, not very good. The garlic bread was decent.
Since my appetite was larger, I enlarged two types of pasta for an additional $20. The white sauce chicken penne: the pasta was not cooked very soft and was a bit hard; the sauce was extremely bland, watery, not thick, and definitely not good. The pine nut basil clam pasta: the sauce had some oily basil flavor, and the quality of the clams was okay; it tasted not bad.
This restaurant seems to target university students looking for a hearty meal, so I can't be too picky about the space and decor. The convenience of payment and the availability of free drinks are decent. However, the food is not acceptable; a budget restaurant should not equate to low-quality dining. In conclusion: I won't be returning."

There are plenty of Italian restaurants in Yangcheng. I used to eat at street-side places, but this is my first time dining in a store within a mall. Even though it’s in a mall, the space inside is quite comfortable. They also have children's chairs and utensils.
Since it’s Christmas, the restaurant is decorated with many Christmas ornaments, creating a nice atmosphere. Today, I came to dine alone. The seating arrangement is not cramped, and each table is equipped with sauces, utensils, and lemonade, so I don’t have to run around to get things.
I ordered the Best Chicken Breast Pasta, which is sautéed. I found the flavor a bit too light for a sautéed dish. Although there’s quite a bit of garlic visible, the garlic flavor is not very strong. The pasta was cooked just right, with a good texture, and there weren’t many broken noodles. The chicken breast had been seared beforehand, which gave it a nice aroma and it wasn't dry.
Overall, the dining experience was quite pleasant. Midway through my meal, a staff member came to ask if the flavor was satisfactory. This is a place I would consider revisiting. Next time, I'll try other flavors.
𓌉𓇋 Three types of mushroom cream pasta with porcini flavor topped with truffle sauce $350
· Porcini, button mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, and shiitake mushrooms; if you love mushrooms, you should order this without hesitation. Even without meat, it doesn’t lose any appeal, and the truffle-flavored sauce on the pasta is incredibly rich and delicious!
𓌉𓇋 Fukuoka Prefecture's mentaiko scallop pasta $440
· The large scallops are delightful, and before mixing in the mentaiko, the taste is refreshing. After mixing in the mentaiko, it is full of umami which also serves as the source of saltiness in the pasta.
𓌉𓇋 Ricotta cheese mousse with fig red wine sauce $80
· It looks plain on the outside, but it's actually very meaningful🥰 My family and I were amazed after the first bite; though the flavor is rich, it’s not at all cloying. Inside the small cup, there are dried cranberries, chocolate, walnuts, and raisins. You’ll want to order another cup after finishing...
𓌉𓇋 Banana pound cake $30
· A thin slice, which feels like a ceremonial experience; the banana flavor is quite pronounced. If you like it, you can purchase a whole loaf from the shop.
𖠚ᐝ American coffee (hot) $60
I happened to walk by and went in; the shopkeeper said the food would take 40 minutes. I thought that was a bit long, but too lazy to look for another place, I said it was fine.
This place has quite a few customers, and there are a lot of takeout orders, so the food does take quite a while, but fortunately, it was worth the wait. Otherwise, it would have been a loss.
In this shop, you can first choose the main dish, then choose rice or noodles, and then select a sauce, such as red sauce, white sauce, etc.
This time I ordered the pan-seared chicken thigh with white sauce noodles. Firstly, the chicken thigh was indeed cooked to a nice crispy texture, and it was tender and juicy, which was great. The white sauce noodles were also fantastic; they weren't too greasy, the seasoning was just right, and the noodles were cooked perfectly.
Overall, I recommend everyone to try this place.

An affordable Italian pasta place perfect for students.
Tableware and water are self-service, and there is no service charge (cash payments only).
The pasta itself is quite substantial, but ordering some small snacks will add to the fullness.
The serving speed is very fast; it seems the sauces are pre-made.
If you’re looking for a nice place to dine or chat in Taipei City, for about NT$500 for two people, this place is okay.
However, I did notice a short hair in my noodles, and since I was already more than halfway through my meal, I was afraid of being thought as doing it on purpose, so I didn’t specifically mention it to the restaurant.

＞ It looks like a stir-fry; the pasta sauce is quite abundant. The pork belly slices have no fishy taste, with equal amounts of fat and lean meat, and the fattier pieces are slightly elastic when eaten.

＞ The daily soup was a creamy soup, tasting like the ones from budget steak houses but a bit thinner.

The milk tea has a fixed sweetness, likely from a powder mix, mildly sweet should be right.
Add pearl tapioca for +NT$10 (a bit hard with no sweetness, optional).

＞ The squid has a softer texture, and I personally prefer a slightly richer pesto.

It used to be my favorite restaurant, offering affordable and delicious pasta.
The reason I say "used to" is that several years ago, I visited twice with family and friends, and both times encountered small cockroaches crawling around while dining indoors, which was really unpleasant. On this return visit, it feels like the dining environment has been tidied up.
I ordered my favorite creamy vegetable chicken pasta again. The white sauce is rich, and the pasta has a slightly chewy texture; the chicken breast is a bit tough, but it has a good meaty flavor, which pairs better with the creamy sauce. Perhaps this is why I liked white sauce back then.
Although cabbage is not a typical side in Italian pasta dishes, it actually fits well in this dish and adds a bit of vegetable content.
Many years ago, I'M PASTA was probably one of the few affordable pasta places that correctly used durum wheat to achieve that chewy texture, but now such places are more common.
The restaurant is located within the Yawen Lakeside Healing Forest, and the seating area is quite large. It is entirely self-service; you pick up a menu at the counter, find a seat for yourself, and then order and pay at the counter. A machine will be given to you to pick up your food, which vibrates when it's ready. The speed of food delivery is fast. After dining, you take your plates to the recycling area.
I ordered a Margherita pizza, Cherry Duck pasta, and a Strawberry Apple fruit smoothie. The pizza has juicy tomatoes that pair well with the sauce, and the crust is not too hard. The Cherry Duck pasta has many ingredients, and notably includes cucumber and Thai basil. It has a strong garlic flavor with a slight spiciness, and the pasta is a bit on the hard side. The Strawberry Apple smoothie is made with solid ingredients, containing whole strawberries and apple chunks, though it is a bit sweet.
Overall, it was quite good. If you're here, you can enjoy a meal at this place.
