The breadfruit tree is located at the corner of Minguo Road and Mingli Road; it's somewhat hidden, and the atmosphere inside is great for friends to gather and chat. The ingredients in the restaurant are very fresh; the pesto risotto and meat sauce pasta are both delicious. The risotto is quite unique, containing a variety of vegetables that create a rich texture. The risotto is on the wetter side, and the basil is directly included in it, with edible flowers on top, which is very special!
The soup and cheese are also good. The black tea is slightly sweetened. The decor and lighting in the restaurant are very comfortable, and there are seats both inside and outside. It's well-managed and full of greenery, almost like being in a paradise. Each plant is carefully tended to by the owner. Having such a dining environment in Hualien is very pleasant and stress-relieving; it's definitely worth visiting to relax!
🍝 Kaohsiung Sanmin ▫️ Kaohsiung Medical University Business District
🍝 An Italian pasta restaurant where you can adopt cats
This affordable Italian pasta restaurant located near Kaohsiung Medical University
I have probably visited at least three times since it opened.
Even if I don't dine in, I've donated canned food or supported their calendars,
Hoping to do my part for the cats in their care. 💪🏻
Although it is a cat adoption restaurant,
Every time I visit, it's very clean.
Whether it's the first floor without cats or the second floor where cats play,
There are no unpleasant odors affecting our appetite. 🐈
This time, my family, who aren't particularly fond of cats,
We made a reservation in advance and let the restaurant know to sit on the first floor.
Fortunately, there’s online booking (via inbox on their Facebook page).
Soon after we arrived, we noticed the sign at the entrance flipped to "open,"
And saw many students who looked like they were from Kaohsiung Medical University coming to dine,
Making it feel quite popular in this area. ❤️
This time, my family and I ordered
Completely different types of pasta.
➰ Spicy Garlic Shrimp Pasta 299
This dish has a mild spiciness level 🌶️
It’s suitable for friends who can handle a little spice.
The fresh shrimp received high praise from my family 🦐
They kept saying they hadn't tasted such flavors for a long time.
➰ Creamy Salted Egg Chicken Pasta 289
The salted egg yolk was quite a creative twist on the dish. 🥚
But I happen to love this type of item.
The sauce here is a bit on the wetter side,
The noodles maintain their chewy texture, and the chicken breast is tender.
Overall, the flavor is slightly above average. 🤏🏻
Like most restaurants,
This place also offers upgrade sets for 79 or 129 NT dollars,
But we were worried about getting too full, so we just ordered soup on the side. 😆
——
Before we left, I couldn't help but excuse myself to use the restroom,
And headed to the second floor to check on a few of the recent cats in their care.
The cats are not shy at all and super cute.
If anyone is interested in adopting a cat,
You might want to drop by and take a look! ✨

· The restaurant operates on a self-service basis 🈚️ no service charge
· Does not accommodate groups of five or more
· Does not accommodate children under ten
· Minimum spending of 239 NT dollars 💰 must order and pay first
Located near the Taichung Natural Science Museum, "Wan Mian Pasta" is a very popular and affordable pasta restaurant. The pasta here has a good flavor, especially their pesto, which is particularly distinctive. Unlike regular pasta where the pesto is mixed in and served, they place a dollop of pesto alongside the pasta for you to mix yourself. The pesto has a very rich flavor, surprisingly on par with some gourmet Western restaurants, with the fresh aroma of basil, making every bite very satisfying.
However, this time there was a bit of a letdown. Firstly, the prices have increased, which is somewhat disappointing for regular customers. Worse yet, the amount of pesto has also decreased. After mixing the pesto, the pasta no longer has that rich green color, lacking the previous visual and taste enjoyment. It makes one nostalgic for the past satisfaction.
I ordered their clam and crab meat pasta, and the number of clams has noticeably decreased. What used to be a dish full of clams is now down to just three, creating a disparity. While the overall taste is still good, particularly the texture of the noodles and the sauce pairing, these changes by the restaurant make it no longer as affordable as before.
An Italian pasta shop tucked away in Dongmen Market
There are only 4 seats outside the store on the Dongmen Market walkway
It's gotten cooler these days
Otherwise, it would be very hot in the summer
If I hadn't seen friends recommending it as delicious, I probably wouldn't have eaten at this place at all XD
Arrived around 4:30 pm on a weekday afternoon
There were no other customers at the scene
But the shop does take delivery orders
The owner is the only person inside
Seems like it's not made from semi-finished products
Each pasta takes about 8-10 minutes to serve
Creamy Smoked Salmon Fettuccine $260
The portion of pasta is much more than expected
Almost couldn't finish eating XD
The pasta is slightly firm
The sauce is thick but not greasy
Salmon is soft and tender
Handmade Meat Sauce and Cheese Rigatoni $250
This portion size is more normal
The cheese on top looks like a lot
The seasoning is not heavy
Definitely recommend eating it with the meat sauce
Otherwise, it tastes a bit bland with just the cheese and pasta
The taste of the food is very good
The downside is that the dining environment is a bit lacking
And if it's during meal time, the wait for food can be quite long
This place has been on our list for many years. We frequently visit for pasta. There are many flavors to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. Drinks and corn soup are self-service inside the store. The key point is that their corn soup is exceptionally delicious, it's divine! My family can enjoy several bowls. My mother says, "Their white sauce is so good that I could drink it all with a spoon." My husband loves their basil clam sauce. It's just that tasty~~ So even though we live far away, we're still willing to take public transport or drive here to eat. Remember to upsize 👍 Adding baked cheese is also delicious.
Family gathering meal, we decided to dine in this time at the Qingcheng store, previously we always ordered delivery from the Yixian store. Simple review: It's not bad but not memorable, just feels like a decent Italian meal without anything special. However, the Google rating is quite high!
Due to the family gathering, we ordered a wide variety of dishes, including pasta/risotto/pizza/appetizers/mains, but none of them were particularly impressive, only some drawbacks remained in memory 😂
Duck leg confit risotto: The duck meat was tender, but the flavor was quite ordinary, the rice was somewhat soft, and the taste was rather local.
Scallop Kombu Pasta: The scallops were pan-seared just right, the pasta was flat noodle, quite creamy in taste, and something I found fairly delicious after returning home.
Pizza: Just okay, nothing memorable...
The seafood bread appetizer was quite nice, but it just tasted like typical ahijo~
Overall, it wasn't unpleasant to eat, but I wouldn't actively seek it out again. I truly couldn't find any standout points for this place, just an average feeling, but maybe there was too much variety, and we didn't order their signature dish? If there's anyone who knows this place well, please tell me what I should order 🙏
🔹Meals
▪️Spaghetti with Tomato Meat Sauce $100
This flavor doesn't have meat itself, so I added chicken ($30 extra). It tasted good, and considering its value for money, the portion was just right, making it quite an affordable dish. The sauce's flavor can barely be categorized as pink sauce (red sauce + white sauce), because the shop said this flavor has red sauce with added cream.
▪️Creamy Chicken Spaghetti $100 + Baked $30
The creamy flavor tasted a bit bland, but after adding the baked option, it was twice as delicious! It added a layer of complexity! Plus, the original price for the spaghetti is quite reasonable, so I recommend everyone to add the baked option!
🔹Service
The staff is friendly and quick.
🔹Atmosphere
The restaurant has 11 seats, and it's almost full during meal times.
Dine-in customers can enjoy free black tea.
For takeout, you can call ahead to place an order.
🍟 Giant Fried Food Platter
Includes fries, fried fish, onion rings, and several chicken wings.
Recommended for sharing among 5-6 people.
The fried fish has little flavor.
The fries and chicken wings are pretty good, not too salty or overly seasoned.
🐚 Pesto Crazy Clam Pasta
Filled with approximately 35 clams.
There is a lot of pasta, the sauce is also plentiful, and the noodles are flavorful.
🍅 Chef's Tomato Meat Sauce Pasta
This dish is a disappointment, it surprisingly has no flavor!
It lacks both tomato taste and meat sauce.
The thumbs up on the menu must be a joke!
🍋 Iced Lemon Tea
Very sweet iced lemon tea.
I don't think it tastes sour at all~
Suitable for sharing with 5-6 people.
🦟 There are a lot of mosquitoes around, so make sure to spray on mosquito repellent first!
Order via self-service by scanning the code.
I feel the quality of the dishes varies a lot, but this place is great for family dining.
The Italian Kitchen's small branch (??) seems to focus on lasagna. I went there once when it first opened, and at that time, the menu was indeed centered around lasagna. Now, they have added many more items, including various pasta dishes, desserts, gelato, and more.
This time, I ordered the tomato sauce chicken meatballs, grandpa's vegetable soup, and sautéed garlic spicy seasonal seafood with squid wave-shaped pasta.
The base of the chicken meatballs is a rich tomato sauce, and the meatballs are not dry; they are topped with a bit of pesto, which is a nice touch! It also comes with two pieces of crispy French baguette.
The vegetable soup is vegetarian, made from sweet onions, carrots, and celery - it tastes really fresh! The addition of potatoes, chickpeas, and oats adds a nice variety to the texture.
As for the wave-shaped pasta, it arrives with a strong shrimp flavor! The pasta itself is super twisted; it was my first time having such pasta, and it soaked up a lot of sauce! The dish balances garlic, spice, and freshness quite prominently, but I found it a bit salty. They mentioned that the chef is Italian, which explains the stronger flavors. 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
When I was paying the bill, the waiter reminded me that next time I could ask for a lighter option, and that customization is possible!
🍝 Kaohsiung Xinxing ▪️ Next to Xiongshang
🍝 A stylish Italian pasta restaurant with a light industrial vibe
After watching the Korean show "Black and White Chef," I was inspired by the various Italian dishes featured. So without even making a reservation, I headed straight there to see if there was a table available. 🏃🏻➡️🏃🏻♀️
Initially, I intended to visit a well-known trail café in Kaohsiung ☕️, but with a wait of over an hour, I decided against it and changed course to this place on my shortlist located near Xingujiang. 🍝
One of the advantages of this restaurant is that you can swap your pasta. Being a fan of wide noodles, this was very appealing to me. That day, I also ordered the recommended "Fireworks Woman" with wide noodles, plus a set meal 🈶 which included a drink, cream soup, bread, and dessert.
The "Fireworks Woman" here was different from the versions I've had before. It was not overly rich; instead, it had a bold yet refreshing flavor. Overall, it was decent but not outstanding. My partner ordered the risotto, which was also lacking in firmness. We upgraded the dessert to tiramisu, but it similarly fell short of expectations. Indeed, I shouldn't have been impulsive after watching the show; I realized I tend to set my expectations too high for every dish. Surprisingly, the most satisfying parts of the meal were the pre-meal cream soup and the bread. 🥖
The service and atmosphere of this restaurant were quite good, and the second floor had enough space for group dining. However, the food didn't inspire much desire for a return visit in the near future. I might consider coming back only if a friend suggests it. 🥹
