The atmosphere and lighting are pretty good. Since the meals are made to order, you might feel hungrier (those with a big appetite should eat a bit more).
I highly recommend the fried calamari; it's super delicious and the portion is great.
The pork rice is also very tasty and not overly salty.
For tea cocktails, we ordered two lighter options. One is based on buckwheat, and the combination of alcohol and tea blends very well. It starts with the aroma of the cocktail, and towards the end, you get the aftertaste of buckwheat. The other is made with a high-end cold tea base; it starts with a tea aroma and finishes with a subtle hint of watermelon and alcohol. It's really good.
If I get the chance, I want to try each of the wines.
The table service is excellent, and they even ask about your taste preferences. 🥰
Location: Xinyi District, Taipei City
The department dinner was booked in advance at this new emotional-themed restaurant and bar. It’s located outside the Taipei Dome, and coincidentally, it was the day of the first baseball game between Taiwan and Korea. So, there were a lot of people outside the restaurant. Once you enter, it has a very atmospheric, slow camping vibe. The decorations and restaurant tableware all contribute to the camping feel, making it very cute for photos.
🌟 Platter for 3-4 people
The platter that arrived at the table was very fancy, beautifully presented with a strong sense of ceremony. When it was served, the staff poured the food from a bucket, truly evoking that wild camping experience. It included various meats like ribs, pig's trotters, and spring chicken. The seasoning was quite forgettable, and it was all unprocessed meat, including bones, which added to the outdoor camping feel. However, as someone who’s a bit lazy, I didn’t really like this style of food.
🌟 Fried platter
A fried platter is usually a safe bet at a restaurant and here it performed quite standardly, without any particularly stunning elements. It included basic items like French fries, squid, cheese sticks, and a few other fried foods. I didn't particularly enjoy it.
🌟 Spicy red pepper pig's trotters
This dish was very spicy. The pig's trotters were not bad; both the meat and skin had a nice chewy texture. However, there was a lot of seasoning powder on the outside, making it extremely spicy — one bite could be overwhelming. You would need plenty of drinks to balance it out.
🌟 Shrimp skin tofu
This dish resembled those typically found in seafood restaurants. The sweetness of the shrimp was not very prominent, and overall the dish tasted as you might expect.
Overall, both the food and drinks here were much more ordinary compared to another branch I had previously tried. I personally felt quite disappointed. However, the ceremonial aspect was very well done, and taking photos was fun and enjoyable. But the food is still incredibly important, so for me, this restaurant is just a one-time visit. 😓😓😓
🥇 Kaohsiung Yancheng ▫️ Inside the First Public Retail Market
🥇 New Flavors at the Old Market · A Creative Bistro with Affordable Prices
Yancheng is a memory for the older generation
And a hidden treasure for our generation
There are always many mysterious shops
That even locals may not have visited🍴
Last weekend, I originally wanted to take a two-day trip to Tainan
But it just happened to coincide with the Ronin Festival
Affordable accommodations were hard to come by, and others had a low cost-performance ratio
So after discussing with my partner, we decided to stay and experience the charm of the harbor city
If you want to experience the deliciousness of the harbor city
Yancheng District is the best place to be
The local snacks always bring different memories each time
Creative shops always bring new surprises❤️
—
This bistro hidden in the market
Has been on my list for a long time
But due to the lack of air conditioning and the need to wait for seats
I only had the chance to visit now
That evening, it rained quite a bit⛈️
We walked there, which delayed us a little
We arrived 5 minutes after the opening time
To our surprise, the bar seats were already full
(Actually, there were also seats in the market area 🉑 but it just wasn't the same vibe)
Fortunately, we didn't have to wait more than half an hour before someone left
While waiting, we quickly decided what to order
So once seated, we promptly placed our order
The restaurant was also quick to serve
Many dishes exceeded our expectations and completely astonished our taste buds
Combined with the excellent overall local atmosphere
Even my partner couldn’t stop praising it
This is the first time I've given the highest symbol 🥇
Which shows how much I recommend it🔥
Next, let’s just look at the pictures
And enjoy the food in the order it was served✨

Dickson's Fooday Mouthpiece Review #217
It's time for the nightlife special again!
Introducing~~ a gastropub!
It's a place I opened myself near the intersection of Yanji Street and Civic Boulevard.
That day, we had no place to drink at the last minute,
And my friend found this place willing to take us in,
So thanks a lot first! 🥲🥲
Unfortunately, the only food available that day was chicken nuggets,
So I can't provide much commentary on the food part. 🤣🤣
The drinks are okay, but not astonishing,
It could be because I was mostly interacting with friends that day,
So I didn't pay too much attention. 🥹
However, the staff was very generous and shared shots with us.
Shots are~~
The atmosphere in the venue is a mix between a quiet bar and a nightclub vibe,
It can be loud or calm, it can be active or relaxing,
The music is unique,
And the decor has a Chinese style, making it quite special. 👍
It's definitely a bar worth visiting again!

Open by yourself!
Open, open, open, open, open!
Drive yourself, open your own bar~~
Is it kind of like "f*ck yourself"?
Why should you open by yourself?
Open a shop?
Unbox?
Open a bottle?
Open a machete?
After a lovely dinner,
You and the girl stroll through the Eastern District.
🙎🏻♂️: Should we open? Open by yourself.
🙎🏼♀️: What... what are you talking about? Open what?
🙎🏻♂️: Of course, that! Those who understand will understand. 🤤🤤
🙎🏼♀️: So annoying, already thinking naughty before midnight! And so straightforward. 🫣🫣
🙎🏻♂️: Can't help it, a night of spring is worth a thousand gold, must cherish it well.
🙎🏼♀️: Then… where should we open? 🫣🫣
🙎🏻♂️: Oh, just open by yourself~~ Open up, drink up—just around the corner on Yanji Street!
🙎🏼♀️: Huh! I thought you were talking about opening... opening... Ugh, I fell for it again and got my hopes up. 🫠🫠🫠
🙎🏻♂️: ??? Where did you think I was going with this? I'm so straightforward!
No worries, after drinking, we can open again, after drinking, we can open. 🤤
Look,
You managed to have a smooth back-and-forth with the girl,
Making him willingly fall into the trap of fantasizing!
Has the ambiguous spark between you increased again? 💕💕💕

I’ve been here several times and ordered different items, but I’ve never been disappointed!
I especially recommend the spicy duck blood tofu, braised platter, crispy pig blood cake, and what I ordered this time👇🏻
(The cocktails are all good, especially the fruity ones, which have a unique and approachable taste, perfectly balancing the feeling of mild inebriation, but it’s a bit unfortunate that they don’t frequently introduce new items.)
✐ Miso Udon Soup Noodles $160
· This is perfect whether you want a light bite or something to accompany your drinks! The portion is about 70-80% filling for women, with the right saltiness and a chewy texture. It would feel great to sip on a bowl of this in winter.
✐ Sweet Potato Congee $50
· I thought it was funny that I came here to eat congee… but surprisingly, it’s really delicious! The sweet potato is cooked to a creamy consistency, with sugar syrup on top, so even ordering just the congee doesn’t feel boring. If you want something more substantial, you can add some braised items to go with it~
The end of the month is here, and this bowl of congee is enough to satisfy...
✐ Chilled Draft Beer $160
· Very smooth draft beer served in a cute draft beer glass, plus you can also find your seat 😍
Near Yingge Station, on the 2nd floor of the public market, there is a small food court. The environment is relatively clean, with a few dessert shops, drink stalls, and about 10 stands for main dishes.
This time, I visited 🔸Xia Jiao Huo Seafood Bistro🔸, which is more of a hot stir-fry restaurant. Their seating is not shared with the food court and includes its own tables for 4 to 10 people, suitable for both small and large groups.
✅ Pesto Clam Linguine 🍝
The garlic flavor 🧄 is very strong. The clams are just average, not particularly fresh. The portion is about enough for one woman.
✅ Thai Basil Pork Rice
Spiciness 🌶️ is around mild. The portion is generous and leans more towards Taiwanese style. It’s quite tasty.
✅ Taiwanese Sausage
This dish was the most impressive! The sausage is grilled to perfection, with a crispy outer layer but no burnt spots, and has a strong aroma of alcohol. However, there are three pieces, which might be too much and rich for two people. I would suggest ordering this for a group of three or more. 🤣
I accidentally discovered that there is a food court above the market, and everything here looks delicious! Unfortunately, with only two people, we couldn't eat too much. I recommend that everyone dining in groups order a few more dishes to try!
I had high expectations because I waited a long time for this, but the food was very ordinary~ QQ
The overall environment gives off a Taiwanese izakaya vibe, with a nostalgic and distinctly Taiwanese atmosphere, which is quite special. I also saw many people bringing foreign friends here to dine!
The service wasn't bad, but the greater the expectation for the food, the bigger the disappointment~
The most impressive dish this time was the century egg tofu for $180.
It was topped with ingredients similar to crispy snacks and garlic bits, which went very well together!
The sesame oil chicken skewers were quite special, but the salt-flavored pork belly skewers and beef short rib skewers were very ordinary—something that a typical izakaya would do much better. The prices for the skewers were also not cheap.
The chicken oil mixed rice was ordinary, and the house special pepper noodles had a good chewiness, but the flavor tasted a lot like what you can find in places where they sell home-cooked food...
The soup with cabbage was just made with a little bonito flakes and cabbage, quite refreshing but also just a very ordinary cabbage soup.
Overall, it was extremely average. If you're more particular about the flavors you enjoy, I really wouldn't recommend making a special trip here! However, the atmosphere and service were both great, and they stay open until 2 AM... The business is good, so it's advisable to make a reservation in advance~

Dickson's Fooday food review is here!
This time, I visited the "bad boy" themed gastropub – a place full of Taiwanese pub vibes!
Located in an alley near Guting Station, "Guting Si Zha" is a Taiwanese-style izakaya. Besides a variety of Taiwanese draft beers and local specialty cocktails, there are plenty of small dishes and drinking snacks to enjoy!
This place is really suitable for all the bad boys – oh, I mean, for all the trendy men and women to hang out. You mess with me, I mess with you, and it’s all quite fun!
Come with a few friends and enjoy some super Taiwanese braised dishes along with some dry noodles or similar main dishes.
Sip on the special bad boy cocktails here and have a great time!
You can also discuss the latest bad boy antics and find out who has been bad lately (!)
But hey, don’t be too reckless, and don’t just jump in! It’s not that you won’t be reported; it’s just that the timing isn’t right!

⭐️ Food:
The focus is on various drinking snacks and Taiwanese small bites. On that day, we ordered a platter of braised dishes, corn shoots, and century egg tofu. Truly very Taiwanese!
I think the braised dish platter is quite good. It includes various beef braised items – tripe, tendons, and beef, and they are all quite flavorful!
The century egg tofu is a bit spicy, and I like it a lot!
⭐️ Beverages:
I remember them being decent, but nothing particularly impressive. I think the style is mainly about matching the names and presenting a Taiwanese cocktail vibe. Whether you’re drinking beer or cocktails here, it has its own unique charm.
⭐️ Atmosphere:
The interior creates a very Taiwanese izakaya feel, and the seats and tables reflect that! Although the chairs might become a bit uncomfortable after sitting for too long, the overall atmosphere is quite nice!
🤪🤪 Dickson’s banter 🤪🤪
As the saying goes, "Good-looking people have it easy; ugly ones have to eat grass." Whether you’re a bad boy or not depends on your looks. Good-looking guys are seen as bad boys; you’re just trash.
Do you like bad boys?
Oh, who doesn’t? We like the charm of a bad boy but don’t love being played ourselves!
So today, I’m taking you to Guting Si Zha!!!
I’m known as Little Bad Boy of Guting!!!
What? You’re a bad boy? Too much love for that!!!
(!? Turns out the ladies are into bad boys! This is what we call someone who talks poorly but behaves well!
They say bad boys should disappear, but somehow, they can’t help but be drawn to the mysterious appeal of bad boys!!!
Sigh, that’s just how it is.
You’re lamenting internally, wishing you could just be a pure love warrior. Yet, after a few years of experience, you find out that pure love only exists in the dream world.
Outside, pure love warriors can only be conquered by bad boys. Now, you’ve also become a bad boy...
Ah, I digress.
Bringing a girl to a bad boy’s hangout? What are you trying to imply?!
Is it that you’re the bad boy, or is she pretending to be a pig to eat a tiger and planning to turn the tables on you?
All I can say is, if you take it seriously, you lose!
When you bring a girl here, while flirting with her, you make fun of bad boy banter. At that time, you both are chatting non-stop and giving each other emotional value.
Look, you can subtly test her: “Wanna be a bit bad with me? Yeah? You can be bad to me but can’t be bad to me!”
See? Isn’t this subtly closing the distance between you and her?!!!!
The Hermitage Restaurant Taipei Guoguan Branch is located in the alley of Guangfu South Road next to the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. It is a well-known Taiwanese restaurant (Google even identifies it as a Chinese restaurant).
I made a reservation today to celebrate an anniversary and had a very satisfying dining experience.
Today we enjoyed Jinling salted boiled chicken, Ultraman cabbage rice dumplings, Shanhaihui steamed eggs, meatless whistle half-boiled eggs, and Taiwanese Philadelphia black pepper beef.
I mixed drinks such as Midnight Dream Back, From Heaven, Jasmine Rain, Moscow Mule, Yougui Beer and Black Tea, totaling about 3,600 yuan.
Edamame:
As an appetizer while waiting for your meal, they made the edamame more convenient by removing the pods and seasoning it very well.
Jinling salted boiled chicken:
It is limited to the Guoguan store. Although I don’t know what the specific relationship between it and Jinling is, it is moderately salty and has enough chicken flavor. It even has qualified Q-bomb chicken jelly sandwiched between the tissue, skin and meat, and it is boneless.
It tastes smooth and chewy when dipped in their homemade scallion salt. It goes well with rice and is also very appetizing when eaten alone. In the end, we even used the leftover scallion salt to mix with the rice. It was really delicious.
Ultraman cabbage dumpling:
It’s a great thing. The preparation of the cabbage dumpling is somewhere between the Hakka style and the Cantonese style. It has the salty aroma of the shallots and the seafood flavor of the dried shrimps and other dried foods. I think it will be delicious just by frying it like this.. .But they also added great sauces and seasonings.
The sauce should be something like dried chili peppers, which echoes the dry ingredients in the cabbage dumplings. The powder sprinkled on top is dried green onions and salted egg yolk powder. It is very fragrant and must have been slightly roasted. It tastes so good to me. I want to lick the plate clean...
Shanhaihui steamed eggs:
Don’t rush to eat cat tongue!
Although the salmon roe on top is cold, the steamed egg below is at the temperature just out of the oven. If you take it too big and swallow it directly, you will get burned.
The scallops, white shrimps and even the fish eggs stuffed with flowers all tasted fresh and chewy, but they were blanched and numb after eating them too quickly. I had to drink several glasses of ice water to regain my sense of taste.
Meatless whistle soft-boiled eggs:
This egg dish looks amazing, with just the right amount of liquid yolk in the huge egg body.
Shaozi is already a synonym for Sichuan cuisine, which is generally based on minced meat and seasoned with tomatoes, eggs and various spices according to the taste.
The store's secret sauce is sour and sweet, and combined with chili peppers, it is a very appetizing dish.
Taiwanese Philadelphia Black Pepper Beef:
It is said that it used to be served with scallion pancakes, but after the improvement, it is now served with sliced bread.
The appearance is also very spectacular. Red peppers, green peppers, tender beef, etc. are roasted in a large iron pot. The picture of cheese stringing is impressive no matter how many times I watch it.
Of course, the taste is also satisfying. The tender beef seems to have been cut off, and it is full of black pepper aroma. It is delicious and filling.
There was an episode when ordering. I originally wanted to order the black pepper beef, but was strongly discouraged by the bartender and gave up.
Thinking about it afterwards, it was really the right choice, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to drink and mix drinks.
Thank you to the service staff for their professional judgment.
Midnight dream:
Plum and Roselle, a heavy sour and slightly sweet fruity cocktail. I don’t know if it’s considered a sister wine, but it’s a must-try for those who like sour flavors. The floral aroma of Roselle and the fruity aroma of plums are well balanced, and the Q-plum embellished on top is quite crisp and full. delicious.
Jasmine Rain:
Real girl wine.
What comes to you is a light pink wine, embellished with an elegant bamboo leaf. Before you drink it, the elegant fragrance will make you mistakenly think that there is a sweet girl sitting next to you, and the perfume you spray is also full of pink and tender fragrance. It has a floral and fruity scent. If this scent came out in perfume peripherals, I would buy it.
When you drink it, you won’t have the grand illusion of pouring yourself a bottle of perfume. You clearly know that this one is peach and that one is jasmine. There is also a hint of green tea. The sweetness is half to slightly sugary. It is very suitable for white-collar beauties to order drinks that are worth it. Sugar style.
The ice cube patterns used are interesting.
From heaven:
It is a non-alcoholic cocktail using kiwi, lychee and lime. It is sweet and sour overall.
Moscow Mule:
I was curious and asked the bartender about the classic concoctions on the wine list. They said that you can ask about them all, so let's have a glass of Mexico filled with crushed ice... No, Moscow donkey.
I heard that the herbal flavor of a well-blended Moscow donkey will be perfectly blended, and you can even taste a little bit of Salonpas when you drink it.
Well, this is a very smooth glass of Salonpas. The crushed ice is also very even and not sloppy. You can drink it smoothly from beginning to end.
Yougui beer-black tea:
There was beer on the wine list. Out of curiosity, I asked about the beer items and discovered that they actually had Yougui beer.
They said it has a "black tea" flavor, so it's the breakfast shop's Dabinghong with toast and beer?
It turns out to be true. The taste of Yougui's beer is really special. You can really taste the black tea in a breakfast shop. As for the feeling of toast in a breakfast shop that the manufacturer emphasized... I don't understand it. If you are interested, you can experience it for yourself.
Gin Shot:
I heard that if the wine in a bar is of good enough quality, customers will not get drunk easily.
Although the bartender suddenly mentioned that I am a good drinker during the conversation, this is the first shot in my life.
The slight bitterness of the herbal medicine is a bit strong when drunk alone, but it blends well with the spiciness of the alcohol and is not obtrusive in the mouth. The base taste is the mellow sweetness of grain alcohol, although intellectually it sounds like a warning bell of getting drunk. , but the warm and smooth taste on the tip of my tongue made me even have the illusion that "I can drink a few more cups."
Overall, Hermitage Restaurant gave me a very satisfying anniversary celebration. The food was delicious, the cocktails were diverse, the dining experience was quite comfortable, and the service was perfect.
Highly recommended to everyone!
