"Cao Lin Fried Chicken" is a mobile stall-style fried chicken shop, and I happened to encounter it at an event on Kabo Road. Such mobile stalls seem to be rarely fixed in one place, and there aren't many opportunities to chase after them to eat.
In terms of the experience at the time, the portion of fried chicken isn't large, with three small pieces in each order. Although the price is somewhat acceptable, it doesn't have any particularly shocking elements. The taste is quite standard and doesn't wow anyone. The chicken is reasonably tender, but it lacks any unique flavors. The hot dog was a bit disappointing, as there was noticeably less meat, and the casing was particularly thick, making the proportion of meat feel insufficient and not very satisfying.
Overall, it isn't a stall that would make someone want to visit it specifically, especially since it is mobile and harder to find in a fixed location. Perhaps for the passersby who encounter it by chance, it can be a little snack to satisfy hunger, but if someone doesn't happen to come across it, they probably wouldn't go out of their way to seek it out. In terms of cost-effectiveness, it's not particularly high, but also not low enough to be unacceptable; it’s more of a "eat when you come across it" type of place.
Located near the Cheng Huang Temple in Hsinchu, there is a fried chicken shop that has indoor seating. However, this time I got takeout, so I didn't see what it looks like inside.
This shop also allows you to choose whether or not to add sauce, and they even have options like Thai basil, raw garlic slices, and shredded onion available for you to choose from. If you don't add those options to your order, the staff will specifically ask if you need them. But I don't like adding those things when eating fried food, so I just skip them XD.
French Fries: $35
If you're at a fried chicken shop, you must try the thin fries with that red plum powder. I’m sure there are others who also prefer plum powder, right? 🥺 This shop is very generous with the amount of plum powder they add. Even after taking it to go, there’s still some plum powder left in the container ٩۹(๑•̀ω•́ ๑)۶. The flavor is really strong.
Chicken Nuggets: $35
These taste like red dragon chicken nuggets. Even after bringing them home, they remain crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with juice inside.
Green Beans: $40
Just green beans.
Tainan Big Flat Cake: $25
It’s somewhat like black wheel slices that get cut into small pieces and fried. It has a nice chewiness to it, but it makes your mouth tired from biting XD.
This late-night salty crispy chicken shop really leaves a lasting impression! It's fried to a golden crisp, the outer layer isn't greasy, and every bite is full of flavor. The salt and crispy chicken with basil is especially recommended, as it tastes incredibly rich! There is a wide variety of toppings to choose from, so whether you want it spicy or moderately salty, customization is easy. The owner is warm and friendly, making it a great choice for a late-night eatery!
A very different crispy fried chicken store - Su's Triangle Bone Crispy Su. It has a somewhat retro decor but serves very trendy crispy fried chicken, and surprisingly also offers curry rice. Of course, there are also dining seats available, and the open kitchen is very clean with a wide variety of fresh and special ingredients.
The crispy fried chicken has a meaty texture, with each piece being quite large, juicy, and tender. This gets five stars!
The squid black wheel slices are a must-try. They are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and the pieces are quite large, delivering an excellent texture and delightful flavor. It's a very special type of wheel.
They even have fried white ribbon fish! They are rolled into cute little balls and can be bitten into easily, super fresh. Don't miss it if you love seafood.
The deep-sea squid is exceptionally delicious. You wouldn't even know it's squid if I didn't tell you; it's large and very tender.
The vegetables are all fresh and not battered before frying. The frying technique is superb; they are completely non-greasy, and the pieces are large while still retaining moisture, which is fantastic.

First, the conclusion: #The fried food and seasoning are both things I really like 💛
#The price is a bit higher than usual, but it matches the quality.

Below are the items ordered and their prices 🔻
🔺 Honey Crispy Chicken Fillet $90
The size of the chicken fillet fits the price, and the flavor is quite unique with a taste of rice wine. It has a grilled chicken fillet feel and is really delicious! The meat is not dry and retains moisture.
🔺 Sweet and Spicy Fish Cake $30
It still has a soft texture that I really like.
🔺 Taro Fries $30
Fried just right, chewy, and you can taste the taro strands.
🔺 Chicken Heart $40
A portion comes with 4 pieces; the meat is juicy, retains moisture, very delicious and without a fishy taste.
"Fatty Chicken Pieces" located on Yizhong Street in Taichung is considered a famous shop on this food street. Both local students and tourists should be familiar with this place. Previously, when visiting Taichung, you had to try their triangular bone and chicken pieces. The aroma is rich, the texture is crispy, and it's very satisfying. Before you know it, you've finished eating. The egg tofu is another highlight, crispy on the outside, soft inside, and full of fragrance, making it particularly satisfying to eat. However, the overall portion size is a bit small.
On a return visit, I noticed that the menu prices seemed to have increased again, feeling more and more expensive, which brought a slight sense of disappointment. It used to be known as "delicious and affordable," but now it has become an occasional nostalgic snack. 😢 Although the taste remains memorable, it's really not cheap now. Plus, during peak times, you have to queue for a while, and sometimes your patience almost runs out. If you're just passing by, you might just skip it, as there are still plenty of things to eat on Yizhong Street.
Overall, the taste of Fatty Chicken Pieces is excellent and worth trying, but the price and queue factors make me hesitant to visit again. If tourists have ample time, they can give it a try. However, if the queue is too long, you might as well skip it. No need to force it.
"This week I went back to Yilan and just finished playing pinball with Dad. I suddenly thought of this famous landmark fried chicken shop, so I decided to stop by and try it."
<Thoughts after dining🥣>
Crispy Fried Chicken: The outer layer is very thin but extremely crispy. The meat inside is tender, delicate, and juicy. The thickest part is even cut! It’s hard to believe how juicy the meat is, highly recommend this fried chicken.
Tofu: It wasn't deep-fried in wet batter, so it’s not too dry and goes down quite smoothly.
Chicken Butt: The chicken skin on the outside is crispy and not too tender. There’s a lot of juice when you bite into it, and it's not overly greasy. However, it shrinks quite a bit from raw to cooked.
<About the Staff👨🍳>
I noticed the owner looked very tired that day (it seems running a business is quite exhausting). But when the owner was packing the bags, he seemed pretty cool—simple yet powerful, giving off a stylish vibe (´・ω・`)."
The first time I ate it was at someone else's house with delivery. I was shocked by the rice blood cake—it was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I had never tasted such a texture before.
This time, when I passed by and saw it, I immediately stopped to buy it.
This time I was once again surprised by the texture of the rice blood cake, it's quite amazing, but I found the taste rather bland.
I also ordered some tofu sheets, salted crispy chicken, and squid. The flavors were just okay, quite normal.
Located at Qingda Night Market, there are so many fried chicken shops here. My favorite is the crispy fried chicken from 3Q. They have chairs and fans for customers waiting for their meals. 👍 The food is freshly fried, so you'll have to wait a bit. You can place your order and then grab a drink nearby before coming back. XD
Crispy Fried Chicken $80:
They specifically pack it in two layers of paper bags, so it won’t get soggy when you get home. After about a 20-minute ride home, the chicken is still hot. The outer skin is crispy (though today it felt a bit hard), and the chicken is tender and juicy. The amount of pepper is just right.
Egg Tofu Small Box $40:
The tofu inside is soft, but because it's packed in a box, the outer skin gets a bit wet. The small box has about ten pieces (which should be half a box of tofu).
Sweet Potato Balls $30:
Biting into them is quite a workout. XD Sweet potato balls really lose their deliciousness as they cool down, and they definitely could use more pepper.
Fried chicken prices are getting higher and higher now, QAQ. However, other snack prices are relatively cheap.
In the Kaohsiung Sanduo shopping district, there's a food stall at Xingzhong Night Market offering delicious "Apple Chicken Salt Crispy Chicken." This night market is indeed filled with hidden gems, with a street full of food. Today, I suddenly had a craving for fried snacks and happened to notice a crispy chicken shop with the pun "Apple Muscle," which piqued my interest, so I decided to try it out.
This small stall seems to be doing quite well, using a tablet for ordering. They have a tablet at the entrance for customers to place their orders—it's my first time seeing this kind of ordering method. The menu prices are very clear, and after placing an order, just hit checkout, and the store immediately starts frying.
Everything looked so delicious that I ended up ordering a bunch of items. The chicken fillet is only 60, and it's even larger than my palm, with a sweet and crispy batter and very juicy meat. The squid ink fish cake is also a must-try, as it's more flavorful than the typical fish cake slices. The vegetable options are also quite diverse; the fried cabbage is completely not oily and super crispy, making it incredibly delicious.
