I ordered the small braised noodles for $110, which came with vegetables like carrots, radishes, a piece of tofu, and other ingredients. The soup base tasted quite good, and I felt pretty full after finishing the bowl.
The restaurant has plenty of seating and is very clean.
You need to return your own utensils.
Since this place just opened not long ago, not many people know about it yet, so there are still quite a few seats available during meal times.
First, let me emphasize that this review is only about their herbal grass sweet tea, as I didn’t order anything else.
I happened to pass by "Shan Fen Sweet Tea House" on Guanghua Street. Seeing that it offers both food and drinks and has quite a few high ratings, I decided to go in and give it a try. I ordered their signature herbal grass sweet tea to see if this kind of mixed operation really has something special. Surprisingly, it tasted quite good—the sweetness was just right, and the herbal grass flavor was strong enough, easily comparable to the "Yan Tai Cooked Milk Tea" next door. However, considering just the drinks, it does not differ much from stores that specialize in beverages.
The interior environment is clean and bright, with a wide variety on the menu, including cabbage and Chinese toon dumplings, and baked rice with Italian meat sauce. However, I was already full that day, and seeing dumplings, baked dishes, and drinks all at once made me a bit hesitant about trying too many different things. I'll have to come back another time to try more.
Overall, as a vegetarian tea house selling light snacks and drinks, this place performed better than I expected in terms of its beverages.
📍Coordinates: Taichung North District
It's slightly off-center from the Chinese school district's shopping area,
but not far from the bustling roads filled with people,
not obscure, yet easily overlooked,
is a bright and tidy vegetarian small restaurant.
This time, I just came for a simple dinner, ordering a bowl of noodles and vegetables,
but to be honest, I only ordered these because of the price…
In terms of pricing, I feel that some items are a bit high,
but overall, it's not too expensive.
However, if you want to add a few more dishes,
$150-200 per person might not be unexpected.
The flavor isn’t extraordinarily unique,
just homestyle taste, but delicious,
not greasy, leaning on the refreshing side, and after eating, you won't feel heavily burdened!
The dry noodles don't just come with a few leaves and a bit of sauce,
the level of satisfaction in a bowl exceeded my expectations!
What makes me willing to return is probably the cleanliness of the environment!
The space is bright, not dim, with enough seating distance,
the overall environment is comfortable, with some customers cleaning up on their own,
but the owner keeps it very clean as well!
In the short dining time,
the indoor diners were full, and the takeout crowd was continuous,
the owner served food quickly,
so customers are quite willing to wait (because it won’t take long).
I thought that the vegetarian restaurant would be busier during the beginning and middle of the lunar month,
but it seems this place has many patrons even during regular times!
"The Kamei Valley Fashion Vegetarian Cuisine" is located in Shangmeilun. It has an antique and charming dining environment. Upon entering, there are many decorations with Buddhist elements, such as the flying figures from the Dunhuang caves. On another table, there are many characteristic tea canisters from the mainland.
The owner introduces many special products: handmade camel milk curds from Xinjiang, traditional sunflower seeds from Lin'an, Hangzhou, and aged vinegar from Shanxi, among others.
Today, I ordered the imperial mushroom soup noodles cooked in a steamer, which consists of a dozen ingredients, including dried lychee and longan and morels. The steamer extracts the essence of the ingredients, and the fresh flavors of the mushrooms and the sweetness from the dried fruits are beautifully released in the broth. The combination of various ingredient essences truly enriches the soup.
The coconut pine nut rice is a uniquely perfect taste, a must-try for those who love vegetarian food. For dessert, the osmanthus Ningbo rice cake has a very fragrant osmanthus flavor~
The 30-year-old aged tangerine peel tea has a very fragrant and mellow taste. It is available in unlimited supply. This is definitely a place worth revisiting.
Taipei Neihu & Dahu Park - Self-service vegetarian restaurant with pricing by weight. The dishes are varied and the ingredients are fresh, highly recommended if you want to eat a lot of vegetables. They also offer preserved radish omelets, so ovo-lacto vegetarians can also get protein!
The plate I picked cost a total of 250 NT dollars. Although it seems expensive at first glance, it actually contains a lot of food, full of vegetables and whole foods, and I enjoyed eating it. You can have a very balanced diet with many types of vegetables!
Additionally, if you want multigrain rice, it costs an extra 15 NT dollars, and there are various grains available for a healthy meal!
Soup is available for free, containing vegetables and tofu, with plenty of ingredients, and it's very tasty!

▶️ Friendly reminders

▶️ Overall evaluation
🔹 The variety of dishes is great, and the quality is good! Since it's priced by weight, you can take a little of everything and enjoy a rich variety of vegetables! Highly recommended! Because of the weight-based pricing, if you want to save some money, you can choose less watery dishes (or shake off the vegetable juice before picking, XDD). This place is recommended for friends who love eating vegetables or are vegetarians!
Did you eat vegetarian today? At the Zuo-Ying Zhi Sheng restaurant - since my child is vegetarian, we were looking for some Italian food near Zuo-Ying and suddenly remembered that my child is vegetarian. This restaurant also has a branch in Pingtung, and it’s a beloved place I’ve visited many times. This was my first time dining at the Zuo-Ying location, and both the exterior and the interior decor are very childlike, instantly making me feel ten years younger 😂. The best part is that I'm used to their dishes, so without hesitation, I decided to go with this one.
✨ Little Forest Gua Gua Pasta 💰320
The rich pesto sauce covers the pasta, and I really like that the noodles have a slightly firm texture. The dish is garnished with green peppers and king oyster mushrooms, and the pesto has a nutty aroma that is very refreshing to eat.
✨ Eye Liver Truffle Risotto
This is a dish I must order every time I come here. As a truffle lover, I give their risotto a big thumbs up! Each grain of rice is infused with truffle flavor. I really enjoy this smoky flavor (huh), and the creamy taste is quite rich. It's delicious 😋.
The vegetarian restaurant only serves from the morning until 1:30 PM, and there are very few seats inside. Most of the customers seem to be regulars who take their food to go.
The Google ratings are quite high, so I specifically came here to eat. I ordered the mixed soup noodles for $65, and overall it was quite delicious, although the flavor was slightly on the bland side. Adding some vinegar made it better.
Next time I pass by, I will try other dishes.
📍Zhongzheng District, Taipei City (Nanjichang Night Market)
A vegetarian restaurant famous for its freshly steamed stinky tofu 🌱
My friend said that when you come to Nanjichang Night Market, you must try this stinky tofu. There are two shops located in the night market.
Unlike other shops that sell fried or braised stinky tofu, this shop offers "freshly steamed" items.
What’s special about this stinky tofu shop is that it focuses on vegetarian cuisine, featuring dishes that are egg-free and dairy-free. The other items sold in the shop are also vegetarian, making it feel like a healthier meal option.
🥘 Freshly Steamed Stinky Tofu, Not Spicy ($90):
When served, it looks like two pieces of stinky tofu in a very salty broth, but in reality, the broth has little saltiness; instead, it has a slight fermented black bean flavor.
What's quite special about the stinky tofu here is the addition of basil and edamame on top, which was my first time experiencing such a flavor profile.
The texture of the stinky tofu is very delicate and creamy, and it’s quite flavorful as well.
🍄
Will I revisit? Maybe 🤔
Personally, I still prefer the braised or fried versions with stronger flavors! This shop is great for friends who enjoy light flavors and vegetarian dishes!

🌟No Outside Food Allowed
“Fangzhen Vegetarian” is located at the triangular window of Jinhua Road Section 3 in Tainan. It’s a new brand under the Bafang Yunji chain, focusing on vegetarian dishes that emphasize the use of natural whole foods. From pan-fried dumplings and noodles to spicy and sour soup, everything here is vegetarian, creating new options for friends who eat plant-based.
The decor of Fangzhen Vegetarian is simple, with a clean and bright interior featuring large floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of light. The restaurant has tables for two and four, providing a spacious atmosphere. It's a semi-self-service setup where you order using QR codes, receive a number for pick-up, and return to a recycling area after your meal.
The menu at Fangzhen Vegetarian includes: stuffed pastries, dumplings, pan-fried dumplings, stir-fried dishes, side dishes, braised items, specialty snacks, dry mixed noodles, soup noodles, various soups, desserts, and a wide array of drinks. The pan-fried dumplings can be ordered as a combo, which is really cool!
Pan-Fried Dumpling Combo 💰68
Pan-fried dumplings come in sets of eight and can be mixed in flavors. The all-vegetarian filling has a unique flavor. The taste of the snow cabbage filling is very familiar yet hard to name, with a distinctive aroma. The signature cabbage flavor is fresh and sweet, with a golden crispy skin—highly recommended!
Sesame Sauce Dry Noodles 💰60
The sesame sauce noodles are surprisingly fragrant. The noodles have a chewy texture, and the sesame sauce is rich and smooth. The vegetarian flavor is also excellent.
Hot and Sour Soup 💰40
It comes with cilantro, so remember to opt out if you don’t like it. The hot and sour soup is tangy enough, but the overall flavor is mild; it’s okay according to personal taste.
Thoughts: The vegetarian version of Bafang Yunji is highly recommended for those who want plant-based options! The snow cabbage flavor is especially aromatic.

🥦 Kaohsiung Sanmin ▫️ Inside Sanmin Market
🥦 A popular vegetarian self-service takeaway favored by residents
This vegetarian self-service restaurant located inside Sanmin Market often attracts many people who come to pray, specifically to take out food. 🙏🏻 It has been operating for a relatively long time compared to other snack stalls or restaurants and is quite favored by the surrounding residents.
Although the shop is located in the market, the environment is very clean. The variety of dishes is quite rich, but there is no fixed menu; the selections are based directly on the ingredients available that day. The colorful array of dishes is enticing. 🤤
In addition to the various common vegetables, 🥬 there are also fried items and soups for customers to choose from. Each selection is uniformly priced at 50 NT dollars. 💰 While the price is a bit high, it is fixed and cannot be reduced. However, this time, the boss was particularly generous, allowing me to choose three items for 100 NT dollars, which is quite thoughtful. 👍🏻
Although sometimes after eating lightly, the dishes here might taste a little oily or a bit salty, overall the flavor is still within an acceptable range. For office workers looking to incorporate fiber into their daily diet, this place remains a good option. After all, it's simple and convenient. ~ I will probably visit once or twice a month in the future. ✨
