The restaurant itself is operated together with the homestay. The first floor is the dining area, mainly offering American and Mexican cuisine. The dining space is very large and spacious, making it quite suitable for coming with a group of friends.
When it comes to the food itself, I personally think it's neither good nor bad, because many ingredients in Lanyu need to be imported by boat, so the food is mainly frozen items. Frozen food doesn’t taste as fresh or delicious when cooked, but when compared to the standards of a typical casual dining place, it still meets expectations. Moreover, there are relatively few opportunities to eat at Western-style restaurants on Lanyu.
As for the drinks, I curiously ordered a bottle of cherry soda, and my friend's impression when we shared it was that it tasted too much like cough syrup. So friends who don't like cough syrup can avoid this drink; I probably won't order it again next time. 😂
Located in the Carrefour Food Court in Anping, Tainan, "Seasons Steakhouse" is a restaurant under the Wang Pin Group and has been operating for many years as a chain steakhouse. I visited it once ten years ago, and my dining experience back then left me somewhat disappointed, so I decided to revisit and give it another try. This time I ordered the duck breast and Wellington steak. Overall, I felt there has been some improvement, but it still doesn't stand out significantly.
The duck breast was indeed quite good, with a crispy skin and tender, juicy meat that was full of flavor. It can be considered one of the highlights of the meal. As for the Wellington steak, while the quality of the meat was average, the pastry part scored too low—the outer layer that should have been crispy was instead soggy, which detracted significantly from the Wellington steak! The soggy texture made what should have been a complex and enjoyable eating experience rather uninteresting, leading to a noticeable gap from my expectations.
The service at this restaurant remains at a high standard, which impressed me. As for pricing, Seasons Steakhouse’s overall price point is not low, especially considering that the current menu appears more refined compared to the past, but the actual quality of the dishes has not shown a significant improvement. Compared to other mid to high-end restaurants, it may be more suitable for couples or family gatherings.
🚩 Tao Ban House is a great choice for family gatherings with a comfortable space and good service.
For the Mid-Autumn Festival family gathering, we didn't want to spend much effort cooking, so we came to the nearby Tao Ban House. This restaurant is next to the MRT Qizhang Station; it's just a 1-minute walk to get there. It's located on the second floor without an elevator, but the stairs are fairly wide and easy to climb. The shop regularly undergoes renovations, so it looks quite new. The space is spacious and comfortable, with a super high number of seats (over a hundred), making it very suitable for large group dining.
After being seated, we ordered at the table, and after the meal, we could settle the bill using cash or various payment options. The receipt has options for electronic storage, and there is a service charge.
The meals are served as set menus, including salad, appetizers, soup, main courses, Japanese dishes, desserts, and drinks, totaling 7 courses. Since there were many courses, I’ve written my feedback under the photos.
Last time I dined here, the waiting time between each dish was very long, which was not a great experience. I was really worried that we would encounter staff shortages again this time, but today we didn’t face excessively long waits; aside from the dessert being a bit late, everything else was quite good. Before leaving, I asked the staff to help take a photo, and their attitude was kind and friendly, maintaining the consistent high quality of the Wang Pin Group.
Located on Hainan Street in the Xinxing District of Kaohsiung, "Fude Bistro" is a very popular gastropub. The name sounds quite Taiwanese, but it actually offers Western cuisine XD.
Due to the high quality of the food and the very comfortable environment, it's not easy to get a reservation. If you plan to visit, be sure to book in advance. During this special visit, I ordered squid ink risotto, where the rice absorbed the fresh flavor of the squid ink, combined with the salty aroma of the sausage and small squid, resulting in a rich layered texture and an excellent taste. This dish is highly recommended here.
In addition to the risotto, the fish-flavored cheese baked egg also performed remarkably well. The baked egg was creamy, paired with a rich cheese aroma, making every bite satisfying. This dish is a great option as either a main course or a side dish. The bread is also worth mentioning; it’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, especially perfect when paired with the risotto or baked egg.
For dessert, I tried their ice cream, which was quite expensive and made me wince a little at the cost, but it was smooth and richly flavored, definitely worth a try.
Although there are other dishes in the photos, I only took pictures of my friends' meals, so I won’t comment on those 😆.
The environment at Fude Bistro is also very comfortable, making it suitable for gatherings with friends or dates for couples. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the lighting is soft, making it a great place to unwind.
# Beef Lasagna
This dish has a lot of meat!
You can see a thick layer of beef cheek from the side.
The crust on top is crispy grilled cheese.
There's a generous amount of tomato sauce on the side, which has a lighter flavor.
However, paired with the strong main ingredient, it's just right!
You won't get tired of finishing it alone.
If I really had to mention a downside, it would probably be the utensils?
The cheese is grilled so crispy that it's hard to cut into bite-sized pieces with the knife. 🤣
# Truffle Flavored Cheese Chicken Risotto $320
The flavor is perfectly balanced, rich but not overwhelming.
Each grain of rice is coated with sauce.
There’s some firmness to the rice; the menu states you can request it softer if you like.
But I think it’s just right; it wouldn't be bad if it were a bit firmer.
The chicken is cut into small pieces inside the rice.
It seems to be chicken breast but incredibly tender—impressive.
# Belizean Rum Tiramisu $120
The cake base is on the moist side.
There are no cookies at the bottom, but there's Oreo on the side for added texture.
I usually don’t have much feeling towards Belizean rum.
This dish has a subtle rum flavor; personally, I prefer tiramisu with a stronger alcohol taste.
But I really like this flavor too! You should order it!
# Churros with Valrhona Chocolate Sauce $120
The last time I had a similar dish was at AKAME in Pingtung.
I can’t believe I can have it again in Changhua, haha!
The churros don't have a cinnamon flavor; I feel like it's missing a flavor here.
But friends who don’t like cinnamon will probably be very happy, haha!
This restaurant in the white city of Thorn offers a great fine dining experience in a historical setting. Located directly next to an abbey church and within a former noble house dining in a special atmosphere is guaranteed, whether dining inside or outside.
The menu is always a surprise one of either 3, 4, 5 or 6 courses. Every course consists of a beautifully and detailed arranged set up of various components and flavors. Speaking of flavors, every course had so much to explore while at the same time every single part matches to the whole composition.
Of course there is a wine accompaniment available too with a wine matching every course.
The service was very good, super friendly and explaining every course in detail.
We had a wonderful dinner in a beautiful atmosphere with amazing food. Definately a recommendation.
【Taipei Wanhua】Le Ye Food
The staff at this restaurant are very proactive, and the food is delicious 😋.
It's not only suitable for a full meal but also great for having afternoon tea with friends.
I recommend the mochi waffles 🧇, which are cut into eight pieces per serving. If there are two people, you can also order a four-piece combo to try four different flavors.
Main meals come with a drink and also offer plain water.
This is a place worth revisiting 👍🏻.

Osaka Shiomi Bashi Station - Hidden on the second floor of an unassuming apartment is a high-quality little restaurant with a comforting Japanese wabi-sabi zen atmosphere. The food quality is excellent, highly recommended for friends visiting Osaka!
We arrived around nine in the morning, and at that time, only breakfast was available (9:00-11:00, last order at 10:00).
The three of us ordered the following dishes:
📍 Mozzarella Bratwurst Hot Dog / Coffee or Tea ¥990
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
This dish features a sausage sandwich made with crispy European bread, spread with butter for balance, paired with smoked sausage, an egg, and lettuce. It's a relatively simple breakfast.
For drinks, you can choose coffee or tea (iced or hot).
📍 Toast Set - Today's Bread with 3 Sides / Coffee or Tea ¥1100
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌖
This dish is incredibly delicious! The sandwich is filled with tuna, cheese, and vegetables, creating a rich filling that pairs perfectly with the crispy bread. Although it is a bit salty, it is still outstanding! Served with lettuce and sweet peppers on the side, this is a well-balanced and superb dish!
📍 Sea Bream and Olive Rice / Seasonal Soup / Hojicha ¥990
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
A small piece of sea bream rests on top of seasoned rice. The rice is extremely flavorful and fragrant! The soup is made of okra vegetables with a hint of pickled cucumbers, making it very heartwarming to sip while enjoying the hot soup 🥰.
📍 Cheesecake ¥580
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
The cheesecake is topped with cheese powder, creating a rich cheese aroma. It isn’t overly sweet, which is fantastic! The texture is somewhat similar to that of a cheese spread, making it highly recommended for dessert ❤️.
▶️ Environment
🔹 The restaurant has a comfortable space with a zen-like wooden decor, seating about 13 people.
🔹 Once seated, the staff promptly offers iced water.
🔹 After dining, you settle your bill at the end.
▶️ Overall Evaluation
🔹 The ambiance of the restaurant is very refined, the food quality is great, and the prices are reasonable. It was recommended by a friend, and we were very satisfied with our visit. Additionally, besides breakfast, there are options for lunch and dinner, and I would like to return to try other dishes!
A western restaurant with a leaning towards pork, located in the 1 utama shopping complex. You can reach there via car or even mrt train.
We reach at a time for a early dinner so there wasn't too many ppl but already half the restaurant was filled. A very nice clean, sophisticated ambience, making it very nice for dates or a catch up session with old friends. The only thing abit sad was that the location in the mall spoils the ambience abit 😅 Would definately have more feelings in a upscale area.
Service was good and the food came at a acceptable pace. There is also a loyalty program with discounts to encourage you to come back.
The cream of mushroom was full of earthy flavours and delicious. Had a pint of carlsberg as its was right at the end of happy hour. If beer isnt your thing, there are alot of different wine to try.
You must order their signature pork dishes. The meat was well cooked and flavourful. The fatty parts especially so. Sauce was on point and completed with some grilled veggie that was just ok for me.
The spagetthi was good as well, though my wife said it was abit salty for her. No problems for me though.
Overall will definitely recommend this place and a must have is one of their signature pork dishes 😋
The boss lady is quite enthusiastic and there isn't much sense of distance. However, it seems there aren't enough staff in the restaurant, so waiting for food inside will take some time.
This year's menu has become quite limited, and the prices for the items are steadily increasing. The most basic pasta with not many ingredients costs 200 NT dollars. The pasta with flying fish roe sausage and XO sauce costs 320 NT dollars. In terms of price, it really feels a bit too expensive, and after eating, there’s a sense of emptiness. Moreover, drinks are not included at this price point.
However, I find the space in the restaurant to be quite comfortable, giving a very welcoming feeling. There are also many cat-related facilities in the dining area, indicating that the boss lady is quite a cat lover.
