A colleague dinner brought us to this bistro called "Li Qiu," which is said to be very difficult to reserve. The entire place is located in a building with a vintage feel, and the lighting inside is quite dim, creating a romantic atmosphere perfect for dates.
At first, the staff introduced the limited-time offerings: fresh fish and Wagyu beef tenderloin, and as soon as we heard about the limited dishes, we couldn't resist ordering! This bistro specializes in red and white wines, and the staff provided very professional recommendations. In the end, we ordered three bottles of wine because some of us didn't have much experience with red and white wines, so we chose smoother options. It truly met our needs—definitely a thumbs up!
What impressed me the most were the beef tongue, beef tenderloin, and steak. 😂 I personally love beef, and all three dishes were prepared extremely well, highlighting the flavors of the ingredients. In particular, the beef tenderloin was very tender, and paired with the sauce, it showcased its sweetness perfectly. Highly recommend!
Additionally, the limited fish was also cooked very well, with the perfect level of doneness, making it a great match for white wine.
However, I didn’t find the chicken and pork as memorable, probably because we were already quite full and a bit numb to the flavors. 😅 Overall, it's a bistro worth recommending, especially for dates, but I feel it may not be the best choice for group gatherings. It is indeed very hard to reserve a table, so everyone should be mentally prepared for that.
Finally got to eat at Liqiu! Liqiu is a popular spot that can be hard to get reservations at, and the atmosphere is great for dates and gatherings with friends. Overall, the food is delicious, featuring many sauces that you can't find elsewhere!
This time, we were able to book a table for 8 people on Friday night. For 8 people, I recommend ordering two portions of an appetizer, which is just right—not too much and definitely not regrettable. Below are my complete thoughts, with a heart❤️🔥 indicating recommended dishes!
🜸 This Time's Appetizers 🜸
❤️🔥 Grilled Thick Beef Tongue with Argentinian Green Sauce: Delicious!! The beef tongue is intensely flavorful when grilled, paired with a special green sauce that maintains a nice chewiness without being too soft. The slightly spicy sauce adds even more layers of flavor!
❤️🔥 Pan-Seared Scallops with Pickled Bean and Corn Sauce: I thought there would be about 3-4 scallops, but one serving had 8! So satisfying! The pickled bean and corn sauce was unique, featuring a grilled whole corn, while the sauce itself was refreshing and appetizing.
❤️🔥Slow-Cooked Silky Cheese with Seasonal Vegetables: The seasonal vegetables are broccoli, paired with…
❤️🔥Hidden Menu - Grilled M9+ Wagyu Rump with Red Wine Vinaigrette: Only 1 in 700 parts of a cow are the rump, and it’s limited daily! Super delicious, medium-rare with red wine vinaigrette, the beef is rich in flavor—when there was one portion left, we ordered it right away! If it’s available, make sure to get it!
Confited Spiced Vegetable Frittata: I wasn’t too keen on this one; it came with three whole beef tomatoes on top... which felt a bit awkward to eat separately.
🜸 This Time's Main Courses 🜸
❤️🔥 Grilled Steak with Burdock and Red Wine Sauce: Extremely tasty and impressive! It offers two types of sauces with different textures; one is silky while the other is refreshing with a caramel sweetness that pairs excellently with the steak. I really loved it! (The grilled aroma is fantastic.)
Oven-Roasted Stuffed Whole Chicken (must be reserved): The chicken was tender and delicious! However, I'm not a huge fan of chicken, so it didn't leave a deep impression on me.
Tomahawk Pork Chop: The meat was quite thick and fatty, which became a bit overwhelming after eating a lot, but that might be because I was already full by the end.
❤️🔥 Sicilian Basil Sauce with Double-Slot Noodles, Grilled Soft Squid, and White Shrimp: The only starch on the table, and it just kept getting better! The sauce had a nutty aroma, and the seafood portions were generous—the noodles were chewy and not mushy, which is quite special!
❤️🔥 Pan-Seared Fresh Fish with Pickled Bean Cream Sauce: Delicious and tender! The fish this time was Snapper, and I recommend it for seafood lovers!
Since we ordered a bit too much this time and opened three bottles of wine, the total bill was relatively high. However, a normal meal would feel filling for just over 1000! The staff are great at recommending wines, and the red and white wine chosen matched the dishes very well, making them easy to drink!
The dessert of cheese was surprisingly impressive; it was smooth and delicious—more recommended than donuts!

Dickson's Fooday Commentary #287
This time, I visited one of the difficult-to-reserve restaurants, Wenhuo Prescription.
It’s quite a popular place that is difficult to book!
In fact, this restaurant has relocated to a new space.
I had been wanting to try it even before it changed locations.
Unfortunately, it was really hard to make a reservation.
Finally, after a lot of effort this time, I got the chance to check it out!
Although it's a difficult-to-reserve restaurant,
if you choose lunch or dinner on weekdays, it’s generally much easier to get a table.
Compared to other places that require you to be on a waiting list,
this one is slightly more accessible!
Just remember to log on on time if you want to reserve a spot!
When you successfully make a reservation,
you can also add some special dishes.
Different seasonal specialty menus are listed in the reservation information.
If you want to try these specialties on the day,
make sure to fill them out when making your reservation.
And of course, if you have any other needs,
you can communicate with the restaurant via IG afterward!
On the dining day,
there are also some daily menu items available on a blackboard
that you can order as extras!
Overall, I find it to be a restaurant with a unique character,
and the food tastes quite good.
Each dish showcases exquisite cooking techniques and flavors!
No wonder it’s regarded as a difficult-to-reserve restaurant!
Both the flavor of the food and the cooking methods are excellent!
I highly recommend it to friends who haven't tried it yet!
Aside from the food, the overall atmosphere is also great.
It’s a nice place suitable for dates or dining with friends.
The only drawback is that it’s a bit hard to secure a reservation! 😂😂😂

⭐️ Food Section
👉 Pan-Seared Duck Breast $550
My friend's main dish was duck breast.
The duck here is truly very tender and delicious,
paired with their special chef's sauce.
I think every bite of the duck breast is excellent.
For this price, the portion is also quite sufficient.
Highly recommended!
👉 Spiced Slow-Braised Lamb Shank $650
This time, I pre-ordered the lamb shank.
From the picture, you can see that the sauce is quite thick!
Paired with mashed potatoes on the side,
the overall flavor is quite strong.
The sauce here is mainly a curry sauce.
Overall, the lamb shank is very tender,
and there's no strong gamey taste.
However, I feel the portion is a bit small,
and the sauce's flavor is quite heavy,
which takes away some of the lamb's natural taste.
But overall, I think it’s pretty good.
I might choose to try other main dishes next time.
👉 Garlic Roasted Potato Wedges $150
For the side, I ordered potato wedges.
These are also really rich,
and the portion size is quite large.
For this price, you really get a lot of potato wedges,
almost enough for a starch portion of a main dish! 😂😂
If you're worried about not being full from the main course,
you can really order this to fill up your stomach!
👉 Confit Chicken Gizzards $200
The chicken gizzards were more for satisfying my curiosity. 😂😂
But overall, I think this dish didn’t leave much of an impression.
It was just heavily flavored chicken gizzards. 😂😂😂
👉 Smelt and Cabbage $130
I also ordered a vegetable side to try.
The cooking technique and appearance of the cabbage are quite special,
and it offers a unique taste.
I can only say many of the seasonings in this restaurant are really special,
which indeed surprised me!
I found the cabbage quite good.
If you want to eat more vegetables,
you might consider this dish!
👉 Oven-Baked Bread
With the set meal,
there's also a serving of oven-baked bread.
I think the bread here is quite good,
and paired with the accompanying sauce,
it nicely fills up your stomach before the main course. 😂😂😂
👉 Chef's Dessert $180
I don’t really know how to describe the dessert of the day.
It looks very cool overall,
and the taste is quite special,
but I honestly don’t know what it’s called. 😂😂😂
In terms of flavor, I think it's quite good.
It provides a refreshing finish to the meal.
However, since the desserts may vary daily,
it’s best to ask at the counter beforehand!
I think the cooking techniques for the dishes here
are very sophisticated and well-executed.
The control of heat is really excellent.
So no matter what type of meat dish you choose,
it’s all very delicious.
Additionally, what makes this restaurant distinctive is its sauces and overall flavor,
which are memorable and unique!
So from a food perspective, I highly recommend everyone to give it a try!
⭐️ Atmosphere Section
From the photos, you can see
the restaurant has a wooden-themed small restaurant style.
The indoor space isn’t particularly large,
and the number of seats is also limited to about five to six groups of customers at a time.
The kitchen is semi-open,
so diners can see the kitchen activities.
As for the overall decor,
it follows a calm, wooden tone.
I think this kind of ambiance is very suitable for couples on dates or friends gathering quietly!
Although the space is small,
the seating arrangements are quite well-spaced out,
and the distance between tables is good,
so it doesn’t feel too crowded!
⭐️ Service Section
The restaurant doesn’t provide any particularly extra services,
just the basics like taking orders, serving food, and some basic dish introductions.
They also accept card payments,
so you don’t need to worry about only being able to pay in cash!
⭐️ Price Section
I find that, for a refined small restaurant,
the prices here are quite acceptable.
Especially since the main dishes are very refined
and the portions aren’t too small.
Usually, one main dish and one side dish are sufficient per person.
So, from a price perspective, I find it quite reasonable.
On average, each person's expense would be around $1000.
⭐️ Overall
This restaurant has earned its reputation as a difficult-to-reserve spot for a reason.
After all, its overall style is very refined and tasteful,
and the food itself is quite good.
You could say it offers more of a high-end set meal experience.
The cooking techniques for the food are also very satisfying.
So if you get the chance,
and you see an open reservation time,
hurry and book it to enjoy a meal there!
Creamy Bacon Mushroom Risotto $100, the portion isn't very big, but it tastes quite good.
Baked Chicken Rice $120, the baked topping adds a lot of flavor, but the portion is also not very large.
Seafood Chowder $55, the soup is rich and delicious.
Spicy Roasted Chicken Wings (3 pieces) $65, with a crispy exterior, the chicken is very tender and a bit spicy.
Water is provided for self-service and is free. Alternatively, you can order drinks for $50 per person, and children under 10 for $40 per person, while children under 3 are free.
The restaurant does not charge a service fee. Overall, the meals are considered quite affordable.
#Open during Lunar New Year
Takefive Wufang Shicang Zhongxiao Store is located in the alleys of Zhongxiao East Road in the Daan District of Taipei City. The closest MRT station is Zhongxiao Dunhua Station, Exit 3, which is about a 3-minute walk.
The store's decor features warm wood and deep green tiles, complemented by many plants, giving it a strong design sense. Upon entering, there are seats with large windows that allow for great natural light, and the interior also has quieter semi-private dining areas, suitable for different types of customers. The store not only offers meals, but it's also a small supermarket, providing various wines, ingredients, sauces, dried goods, and seasonings from different places.
At the central counter, you place your order after choosing from the menu on the blackboard and find a seat near the refrigerated display. After the meal, you can settle the bill using cash, card, or mobile payment; the invoice includes a service fee.
Photos of the meals and dining experiences are below ⬇️
In addition to the meals in the photos, I also ordered a latte after the meal.
The comments below do not consider price; most dishes lean towards milder flavors, showcasing the original taste of the ingredients and offering many uncommon European dishes.
Today, my supervisor brought us to this restaurant (the supervisor wanted to eat roasted chicken, and we casually joined for a meal and chat 😅). Personally, I think it's a good restaurant, but if I had to pay myself, I would reconsider… (Each dish is about 50% above the expected price, plus a 10% service fee) It’s a bit pricey for small office workers… (Thanks to my supervisor, and I admire my supervisor… 🥺)
I had been eyeing this restaurant on Fooday for a long time and finally found the opportunity to visit. I absolutely loved it! Both the food and the atmosphere were great, but the biggest issue is that there are too few seats, making it really hard to book a table.
There were four of us and we made a reservation for a weekday lunch; basically, there are no seats available in the evenings or on weekends. When you make a reservation, you need to order two main dishes upfront, while other items can be ordered on-site. There’s a minimum order of one main dish per person, and interestingly, the pre-ordered main dishes are different from those available on-site.
The menu is written on a chalkboard, so you have to go look at it yourself, which is a bit inconvenient. Overall, the dining experience and the taste were excellent, and it's easy to understand why it's so hard to get a reservation. I've shared my thoughts on the dishes in the photos. I would definitely want to visit again if I have the chance!
【Foodholic Niko @ Taipei】
This restaurant is really hard to book a table! I finally managed to get a reservation!
"Literary | Fire | Place | Cuisine" is located near Xinyi-Anhe Station, about a 2-minute walk from Exit 2. The decor inside and out maintains a consistent wood tone, using wooden furniture that gives a warm feeling.
Why is it so difficult to secure a booking? Because there aren't many seats, and it's closed on weekends, so typical office workers can only dine on weekday evenings. Dinner reservations open for a limited time and get snapped up quickly (they release two weeks of reservations at a time).
There is a minimum consumption of 600 NTD per person, and you must bind a credit card when booking online. If you no-show, you will be charged directly. When making a reservation, you can choose your main dish ahead of time, as some limited main dishes may not be available if you decide to order them on-site.
Cheese Zucchini $200
The zucchini is cooked perfectly and well-seared, making it very juicy. Although the cheese sprinkled on top may not seem like much, the aroma of the milk is sufficient; it bursts forth as soon as you take a bite. I highly recommend the nut sauce that comes with this dish; it's delicious, though I couldn't identify what kind of nuts were used, I licked it clean. The only downside might be the portion size, as it was gone in an instant after being served.
Garlic Roasted Potato Chunks $150
I personally think this dish is somewhat ordinary, primarily tasting the original flavor of the potato, with subtle hints of butter and garlic, as well as Italian herb flavors. The portion is also not large.
Pan-Seared Duck Breast $550
The duck breast is quite tender but requires some chewing; it’s not the melt-in-your-mouth type. It’s good either on its own or dipped in a bit of the mustard seeds provided, although the mustard seeds don’t add much to the overall flavor. The roasted vegetables were very delicious and fragrant!
Grilled Iberico Pork Chop $650
First, let me say this dish just beats the duck breast! The lean and fatty parts of the pork chop are evenly distributed, making it soft and tender without being too fatty. Dipping it in the apricot apple sauce is refreshing and not greasy, it’s really delicious! The sauce does enhance the dish significantly. The vegetables served alongside are also very well prepared!
Overall, I found the dining environment comfortable, and the food was commendable, though the portions are indeed small. If you want to feel full, you should order a few more dishes. I would be quite willing to return!
✐ Bread - Hazelnut butter and garlic anchovy bread
· Freshly baked, the surface is slightly crispy while the inside is very soft and light (you should be able to feel it from the picture). The spread is really delicious... make sure to scrape the last bite clean.
✐ Soup - Smoked squid and yuzu chicken soup
(I'm sorry I got too engrossed and only took a photo after finishing... but the bowl is beautiful and worth admiring.)
· The appearance is very simple, but upon careful tasting, it is refreshing and sweet, the kind of soup that becomes more addictive with each sip; it's not overwhelming even in the heat of summer.
✐ Salad - Kelp salt and lemon oil vinegar fruit salad
· This is a salad even my mom, who doesn’t like salad, finished. The lettuce isn’t too bitter and is fresh and green. The kelp salt is the finishing touch, and the oil-vinegar dressing is perfect for this season; overall, it’s very refreshing!
✐ Appetizer - Shakshuka-style rice-shaped noodles
· The server asked in advance if I could enjoy it with a raw egg yolk. When the appetizer was served, it looked unassuming, but as soon as I pressed down with my spoon, the yolk spread out, whetting my appetite!
The shop recommends eating it plain first, then mixing it with sour cream. Actually, the plain version is already great, and adding the sour cream gives an extra layer of creaminess and a hint of tang; both ways are worth trying. The rice-shaped noodles are bouncy and smooth and do give a bit of a fulfilling sensation, luckily this dish is meant to be shared between two people. 😋
✐ Pre-meal drink - Selected kombucha
· The kombucha promotes gastrointestinal motility and has a different taste from regular commercial versions, with a slight vinegar punch. I adapted well to it, but if you can’t handle it, you can ask the shop for another drink.
𓌉𓇋 Pan-seared duck breast with creamy wild mushroom sauce $1380
𓌉𓇋 Smoked bacon and potato roasted spring chicken $1380
· The spring chicken is sous-vide and super tender; soaking it in the sauce makes it even more flavorful.
I chose the duck breast medium rare, and the doneness was just right. I highly recommend dipping it in the Hawaiian black salt or the rich wild mushroom sauce, both of which enhance the flavor!
However, by the time the main course arrived, I was already somewhat full, so personally, I think the earlier dishes were actually more surprising. ><
✐ Beverage - Classic herbal tea from Jifs (hot)
· A caffeine-free herbal tea; the server specifically mentioned this cup has no added sugar. You can truly enjoy a very natural sweetness and a subtle floral aroma, making it a very relaxing tea. 🫖
✐ Dessert - Chef's whimsical dessert
· It features a cookie filled with strawberry sorbet in the middle, and the texture is quite unique and sandy. If you're celebrating a birthday, you can ask the shop for a birthday card to place on top! 🎂
❤️ A restaurant where dining will surely be filled with surprises. How wonderful it would be if every restaurant had servers with such angelic qualities. The over 3,000 Google reviews nearing a five-star rating are truly not exaggerated. Each post includes actual dining photos, even if it's just a picture of a beverage, to avoid some users pretending to be actual diners without meal photos. Overall rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
📍 Located near the Taipei Arena. There are plenty of indoor seats, and restrooms are available.
🚗 If driving, it is recommended to park at the Forward Parking Lot (50 TWD/hour), which is just a one-minute walk to the restaurant.
🏍️ Motorbikes can be parked in designated motorcycle spaces on Lane 23, Section 5, Nanjing East Road.
💬 Originally a gathering for sisters, but this meal was truly unexpectedly satisfying. The restaurant's name is the owner’s daughter's name, reflecting the self-expectation of U-LOVE (You will fall in love with it). Here, one really feels the ambiance that the owner wants to convey to customers, from the servers, the restaurant atmosphere, the restroom environment, to the menu items, all evoking feelings of thoughtfulness and attitude. My friend's daughter was still running around happily in the restaurant after finishing her meal (I was actually worried she would disturb nearby diners), and there was a birthday cake for the birthday celebrants of the month. Towards the end of our meal, they helped us take group photos and printed them out for each diner (not just one copy), and I would be willing to give a 20% service charge. It is a dining brand that leaves one satisfied and craving to return.
The restaurant also offers private room space and custom meal arrangements for a wonderful dining environment.
The single-person set meal requires an additional 338 TWD, while the double-person set meal requires an additional 688 TWD.

🔸Iberian Pig Plum
🔹Pingtung Peking duck breast
Both entree portions were good;
The pork plum blossoms are medium rare, the skin is fried, and the texture is slightly crispy.
The meat is chewy and chewy, and it comes with taro paste and kumquat sauce for dipping. It’s great when eaten alone!
▫️Appetizer: Italian spiced pork belly & Wu’s home-grown lettuce
There are wild bamboo shoots, mushrooms, potatoes and lettuce at the bottom
The pork belly is alternately fat and thin, quite chewy and delicious, fat but not greasy, not easy to cut.
▫️Soup: Slow-cooked vegetable soup of the day & French bread
It looks rich, but it tastes really special when you drink it. It has a refreshing taste.
The green top layer is spice oil, and the finish is a bit spicy. The spiciness will remain in the throat, and the feeling is probably between not spicy and slightly spicy☑️
▫️Hot dish: Cuttlefish meal with cheese and pesto sauce
Oh my god‼ ️This hot dish is super delicious,
After all, if you go the delicate route, the portions will be smaller!
It tastes sour and spicy. The spiciness is stronger than the soup just now. It's about slightly spicy. I would need to drink it with water (=´∀`)
▫️Dessert: Almond and Date Puff Pastry Dumplings & Ginger Vanilla Ice Cream
There are stewed candied dates on both sides, almond filling in the middle, and a ball of ice cream on the side. It has a light ginger flavor, which is very special! The picture has a cross-section photo attached
▫️Beverages: black tea/green tea/black coffee/latte, you can choose other drinks at an additional price
