Dandan Hamburger in Dingzhong is located on Dingzhong Road in Sanmin District. Nearby is the Carrefour supermarket at Kaohsiung Tianxiang, and a bit further away is Jinxihu Scenic Area, making it a well-known fast food spot for locals.
This time, I ordered Set 1 and Set 9, adding mushroom chicken croquettes and an extra-long hot dog, totaling 296 NTD.
Set 1 (Spicy Noodles with Pork, Crispy Fried Chicken):
The broth for the spicy noodles is numbing but not too overpowering, with just the right level of spiciness and a rich aroma. The noodles have a smooth texture, and the pork is firm, with just the right amount of thickening.
The crispy fried chicken has a golden, crunchy skin, featuring a slightly sweet marinade unique to Dandan. The meat is juicy and not overly greasy, making it enjoyable whether eaten alone or with the noodles.
Set 9 (Pork Noodles, Crispy Chicken Leg Burger):
Compared to the spicy version, the pork noodles take a fresher route, with a sweet broth and a generous portion of pork.
The crispy chicken leg burger is a standard Taiwanese fast-food burger, with a crispy chicken leg, fresh lettuce, and slightly sweet sauce, all served on soft, non-dry bun.
Mushroom Chicken Croquettes:
This dish includes two pieces, with a crispy exterior and tender interior, infused with a rich mushroom aroma. When bitten into while hot, the filling is smooth, making it a perfectly portioned snack.
Extra-Long Hot Dog:
The texture is chewy and indeed, it is physically extra-long.
Coke is just Coke. The large cup of oolong tea I ordered is refreshing and helps to cut through the greasiness.
Overall, this is a Dandan Hamburger branch filled with Taiwanese fast-food style.
The dining area is clean, feels ventilated, the ordering process is smooth, and takeout is quick. The selection is rich, offering everything from fried chicken to noodles, burgers to hot dogs, all with breakfast portions costing less than 300 NTD. How could one visit the south without trying Dandan?
Highly recommended to everyone!
McDonald's is convenient, and being a global chain means you can eat local limited edition items that you usually can't find elsewhere. Here, most of the stores are standalone, looking cool and clean, bright, and comfortable with quick service.
The Filet-O-Fish is the same worldwide, and the hash browns have a crispier outer texture that feels a bit different but is still delicious. You can't skip the milk either; I don't know if it's from Hokkaido, but it just tastes good. Of course, the most important thing is to try the McMuffin burger! It used to have a long queue when it was a limited-time offer, but here it's a regular item with no one competing for it. The sweet and soft muffin paired with a cheesy meat patty and egg has that perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors and textures—it's actually quite tasty. Eating at McDonald's in Japan is a great choice!
A major Japanese potato chip manufacturer has a store at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, which is very successful. The chips are made fresh on-site right after you order, and they taste the best when made fresh. The kitchen is clean and bright, and although there’s a long line, the service is quick, so you won’t have to wait too long. They even provide finger cots to keep your hands clean, which is a thoughtful touch.
I chose the limited edition honey butter flavor, which I've been longing for since I tried it before. Eating it fresh on-site truly lives up to its name—it’s the taste of happiness in butter, haha. There are various flavors to choose from, and if there are enough people, I would really love to order all the flavors to try them all.

This place is near Zhongshan, and I come here whenever I think of it.
🌟 Pesto Cheese Chicken
The bread inside is as soft as usual. After baking, it becomes crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I personally don’t like bread that is too hard. The pesto part is quite refreshing, and the flavor is not too strong. If you don't want something too heavy, I recommend this option.
🌟 Thick Omelette with Bacon
The omelette is filled with bacon as a garnish. The bacon is crispy and has a harder texture. There is less of the soft part, which I personally don’t like that much.
Overall, the atmosphere and environment are kept very clean and tidy. The prices are moderate, and you can eat enough. It’s a great choice for lunch or for small bites.
One major point I want to make is that the restaurant prices at Hong Kong airport are quite expensive. If you want to save money while enjoying delicious food, the McDonald's in the airport is definitely your best friend.
In terms of food taste, I think there isn't much difference compared to McDonald's in Taiwan; the only variations are in some specific promotional items. For example, during my visit, they were promoting the Japanese Samurai series, so I ordered the Teriyaki Pork Burger (Shogun Burger), which had a layer of sweet Japanese sauce.
I recommend that if you want to dine in, you should avoid peak meal times, otherwise, just the time spent waiting to order can be very long, and in the worst-case scenario, you might even miss your flight, so be careful. Alternatively, you can also go through customs first and then go into McDonald's inside the terminal to eat, you don't necessarily have to dine outside the restricted area first.
Reviewer comments: There is a restroom.
This is McDonald's Nishi-Shinsaibashi branch. I saw that the Shaka Shaka fries were being re-released on Threads before coming to Japan, and since I passed by, I decided to try them out.
Inside, there were self-ordering machines, making it very convenient to place an order. This time, I ordered the large fries with no salt + a pack of plum and shiso powder (I needed to order the powder packet and paper bag separately). I think there was another flavor, but I forgot what it was.
The fries paired with shiso plum powder were quite nice, a bit sour and sweet, making them appetizing. Later, I thought they were good, so I bought 10 packs of the powder to bring back to Taiwan, haha.
I have to say, the roasted chicken here is really delicious, but the fried chicken is just average. I highly recommend trying the vegetable dish; the vegetables are quite good, and the overall seasoning pairs well with them. The purple sweet potato balls with filling are also quite nice. I really recommend everyone to come and give it a try! The staff are very polite and will help guide you through the options to eat, and they will recommend tasty dishes. Thumbs up!
Usually, I don't eat KFC often because there's no KFC near my living area, and I only go if there's a particular dish I'm interested in.
This time, the new product is the Salsa Chicken Crisper Burger, which substitutes the hamburger bun with a chicken patty, filled with lettuce, cheese, hash browns, and served with salsa sauce. It’s quite satisfying to eat, and the sauce has a slight tang. Seeing the hash brown in the middle seemed a bit strange, but it didn't feel out of place when eating. As someone who enjoys meat, I think it's quite good, though by the end, it gets a little greasy.
I chose the green pepper crispy chicken, and I personally really like this flavor of fried chicken from them; the numbing and spicy taste of the Sichuan pepper is delicious.
Another highlight for me at KFC is their egg tarts. This time, I tried the brown sugar and glutinous rice egg tart. I think it’s okay, but I don't particularly like this flavor. When you order takeout, you can pay an extra dollar for another original flavor egg tart, which makes you super full.
I used to really enjoy their corn chowder, which I thought was the best-tasting among fast-food restaurants, but later it changed to taste very much like McDonald's corn soup, which I think is such a pity.
When picking up the order in-store, I was worried they might not notice the extra egg tart for +1 dollar, so I specifically asked if it was included. The staff checked the combo box and confirmed it was included. However, when I got home, I discovered that the missing item was actually the fries. I called to inform them, but since the restaurant is far away, I was too lazy to go back out. Later, they sent me a text message allowing me to redeem the item within two weeks and gave me an extra original egg tart, which I found acceptable.
Foodholic Niko @ Taipei
Since I want to watch the final game of the WBC qualifying round tonight, I have to buy some junk food to go with it, so I decided to try Popeyes Chicken, which has been open for a while.
"Popeyes Chicken Taipei Xuchang Store" is located near Taipei Main Station, about a 2-minute walk from Exit Z2, on Xuchang Road, right next to the bustling Guangnan.
You can order your meal in advance on the official website and pick it up in-store. If you order at 5:30 PM on a weekday, you can get your meal within 10 minutes, which is very convenient! (When I picked up my meal, the restaurant was about one-third full, so there was no queue for dining in.)
The Spicy Chicken Leg Sandwich Combo costs $217 (single order $149). It includes one chicken leg sandwich, one side, and a drink.
For the chicken leg sandwich, you can choose between original or spicy flavor. I chose the original, and the fried chicken leg was quite large. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it; even after sitting for over an hour, the outer crispy layer was still crunchy. I really liked the level of crispiness, and the chicken meat was tender and not dry at all—definitely recommended! The bread was average, but what was interesting was that this sandwich contained cucumber instead of lettuce, with large pieces of pickled cucumber.
For the side, you can choose the KFC crispy fries (S size). If you want to upgrade to a medium portion, it costs an extra $15. If you opt for American coleslaw, it’s an additional $20 (there's a current promotion allowing you to get chocolate biscuits without the extra charge for a limited time). I chose the KFC crispy fries (M size), which are a bit thicker than regular fries but not as thick as sweet potato fries. You really have to eat these hot; I waited over an hour, and the texture became quite unpleasant.
For drinks, you can choose from Sprite, Coke, sparkling water, lemon black tea, hot black tea, apple juice, etc. I chose apple juice. It's worth noting that all the other drinks are size M, while the apple juice is size S. It tastes just like... apple juice... hahaha.
I also purchased the American coleslaw for $60. I originally thought it would be a healthier addition (?) but the salad had quite a bit of mayo in it. It might be okay to share with someone else, but eating it all by myself felt a bit overwhelming. The taste was fine, but I probably won't repurchase this item in the future.

Moss Burger Hong Kong Store
While walking around the area, I saw Moss Burger. I just happened to want a snack, so I came here with a friend to check it out. Since we had a very filling breakfast already, we were thinking of ordering some snacks and drinks.
🌟Japanese-style fried chicken, fries, croquettes
The Japanese-style fried chicken tastes exactly like the one in Taiwan. However, it feels like there are very few customers in Hong Kong. The meals are all freshly fried and super hot, so they taste really good. The fries also taste exactly the same as those from Moss in Taiwan. As for the croquette, the curry flavor is quite strong, and it tastes very different from the curry croquettes Moss used to sell before. However, the croquettes have a fried oil taste that I personally don’t really like.
🌟Black tea
What I was most looking forward to was this black tea. The black tea from Moss in Taiwan has always been one of my favorites. The black tea in Japan tastes similar to elderly tea, which I don't really like. So, I was also very eager to try the Moss in Hong Kong. The conclusion is that it tastes more like the Japanese Moss 🤣🤣🤣. What a pity 🥲.
Since this Moss is located inside a department store, there aren’t many people, so we didn’t have to wait. Plus, the food is very hot. Overall, it performed quite well 👍.
