The restaurant has very high ratings on Google Maps, but I was quite disappointed after the meal. The chef is trying to innovate on traditional dishes, but I found the combinations strange and not quite to my taste. 🥲
The restaurant has a nice ambiance and is quite charming. During dinner time, every table was occupied, and the waitstaff were very busy, but it felt like they were still trying their best to serve the guests, which I found quite friendly.
We ordered a total of four dishes and one drink for this meal. The only dish I found tasty was the “Fresh Scallops🐚,” which was quite good and there wasn’t much to critique; the “Garlic Shrimp🍤” was tasty in itself, but the more I ate, the greasier it became. It’s a dish you need to eat quickly while it's hot; the “Tuna Tapa” was very ordinary with no memorable points; and the “Grilled Octopus Legs🐙” was my favorite dish—definitely a must-try in Europe! However, it was also the most anticipated and the most disappointing. I’ve shared more detailed thoughts in the photo section.
The “Sangria🍹” was beautifully prepared, with an impressive gradient that was perfect for photos, and it tasted really good too. The flavor was on the sweeter side, so I recommend it. 👍
After evaluating the service and dishes, while everything had a certain standard, there weren't many standout points. High-rated restaurants in good environments usually set the expectation for better quality. Throughout the trip, this was the restaurant that left me with the least impression. I only remembered visiting when I went back to look through photos to write this review. 😂 Therefore, I can only give it three stars. I believe there are better options at the same price point.

Churros are a snack that Spaniards and Portuguese often eat for breakfast or as an afternoon treat. In Taiwan, they are translated as “jinna sticks” 😆 This place specializes in jinna sticks! It’s very inconspicuous by the roadside, but the taste is really good👌.
We ordered the traditional churros, with six pieces, which are perfect for a post-meal snack on the go, paired with the classic hot chocolate ☕️, which locals enjoy this way.
These churros are short and different from the ones I've had in Taiwan that are shaped like horseshoes. They are very crispy when freshly fried, with a bit of saltiness, and sprinkled with white sugar outside, which gives them a delightful salty-sweet flavor!
The hot chocolate ☕️ is quite thick, and locals use it as a dipping sauce, which is quite special!! I find it really delicious; the hot chocolate isn’t overly sweet, unlike the ones in Taiwan that are full of cinnamon and accompanied by super sweet churros. I think I might prefer the salty-sweet version from Spain more.
The staff here are very friendly and chatty, and it seems they don’t sell churros that have been left out for too long. When we entered the shop, there were still a few on the counter, but the staff asked us to wait for fresh ones, which felt great 😌 If you’re passing by, I recommend getting a portion to try!

This is a restaurant that specializes in Spanish tapas. If you open a map, you'll find tapas restaurants all over Spain, and each one has high ratings, so you can't go wrong with whichever you choose. This time, I picked Vinitus, which has been highly recommended multiple times on Xiaohongshu. Besides locals, I also saw quite a few Asian faces there.
Business is very good during lunch on weekdays, but the turnover rate is quite high, so you just have to wait a bit for a table. The lighting inside is set a bit dim, creating an atmospheric dining experience.
When in Spain, you obviously have to order the famous fruit wine, Sangria. As soon as we sat down, we ordered a pitcher 🤪. You can choose between red wine 🍷 or white wine 🥂 for the base, and either a half bottle or a full bottle. We chose half a bottle of red wine 🍷, and while the alcohol content was quite strong, I found the sweetness a bit lacking for my taste as I prefer it sweeter. However, it was still enjoyable.
For tapas, we selected some recommended dishes from the internet, with detailed impressions written on the images. My personal favorites were:
⭐️ Grilled bamboo fungus
⭐️ Garlic shrimp
⭐️ Galician-style octopus
⭐️ Grilled asparagus and mushrooms
The seafood was very fresh and delicious, and the seasoning suited our taste. These dishes can be safely ordered. However, some dishes I was looking forward to that were highly praised online turned out to be quite average, such as:
I found the cod too sweet and greasy, which was highly recommended online, but personally, I didn’t like it very much. The foie gras was truly excellent, but the filet was too rare 🥲—with too much blood, making it tough to chew. The filet mignon with Padrón peppers had the same issue; it was such a waste of good meat, and halfway through, I really wanted to ask if I could take it back to heat it up.
These two dishes might be a matter of personal preference, or maybe the chef was new that day… so I remain cautious about it, and if you’re curious, you can still give them a try.
The one dish I absolutely do not recommend ❌ is the fried eggplant and sweet potato chips 🍆🍠. It had a very strong oily taste and was greasy, with strange seasoning, and we ended up not finishing it, so please avoid this one.
Overall, I can only say it was pretty good, and I would consider coming back. The atmosphere and environment were great, but I felt that the prices were a bit on the expensive side, and unfortunately, some of the most expensive dishes didn’t suit my taste.
As our first meal after landing, we were also eager to indulge 😂. This place is suitable for just a drink or ordering a couple of small dishes; however, if you want to have a full meal, the value for money isn't very high.
The waitstaff were very kind, but possibly due to the push for table turnover, I felt subtly rushed from ordering to settling the bill, making it hard to relax and enjoy chatting while drinking, which added a bit of pressure. This aspect has its pros and cons, so I hope this helps everyone.
It was my first time to eat at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, a Western-style restaurant, because of a dinner party with friends. The space is large and the furnishings are simple and elegant. Because it is an open space, you can easily see other store furnishings, like a food street concept.
The most special thing about this restaurant is that it is a completely vegetarian pasta restaurant, which is very suitable for vegetarians (but there are many cheese-based dishes). The one that impressed me the most was the stinky cheese pasta! Because stinky cheese smells like foreigners smell stinky tofu, most Taiwanese people cannot accept it. However, I think the stinky cheese here is very novice-friendly, not very smelly, and because the portion is not very large, it tastes sweet and sour when paired with noodles. You can try this dish first to avoid the odor. The first time I ate stinky cheese, I was shocked.
In addition, because the portions of the meals are large, it is recommended that more people eat together to facilitate sharing.
The best Western restaurant I have ever eaten in Hawaii. They mainly serve Spanish cuisine, including paellas, seafood stew, and various tapas side dishes. You can choose from steaks. The taste of each dish is moderately sweet and sour, which should be suitable for most people. accept.
The creamy mushroom noodles are very smooth, and they use fresh cream so they don't taste greasy. The steak is also cooked just right and doesn't smell fishy, and it's even more refreshing when paired with thin salt and black pepper. The rice grains used in the cuttlefish and seafood risotto are also authentic short rice grains, so they taste very chewy.
The overall dining service was also very good. The waiter was very patient in introducing the dishes and answering our questions. This is a place where you'll want to tip more.
Bad review: The food is delicious, the unit price is very high, and the service is not worthy of the price at all.
I came to this Spanish restaurant to celebrate a friend’s birthday. To make a reservation, you need to pay a deposit of 2,000!
After entering the store, no one greeted me and I was left alone.
Most of the store staff are foreigners. They are located in Taiwan but they all speak English... quite special...
After being seated for a while, I was not even offered the menu.
The four of us ordered two appetizers, a seafood risotto, a steak (two side dishes), and a pot of sangria.
I’ll put my comments on the dishes in the pictures. It took about 40 minutes to wait between appetizers and seafood risotto! It took a long time and no one came to explain how long it took to wait. The clerk in the middle seemed very busy but had no idea what he was doing, which made the birthday girl feel very impatient🤣
(It seems like the stewed rice should be cooked and served together?! Because a large batch of stewed rice comes out of the kitchen at one time, and everyone who has some stewed rice will be served at this time)
Forget about the dinner dishes, the stewed rice was placed on a large iron plate. They didn't even ask us if we wanted to take a photo or help us divide it. He just helped us take it out of the iron plate and put it on a small white plate. , it became like fried rice, the portion size also seemed to be very small, the price dropped instantly, and the ritual feeling of eating Spanish risotto was completely lost 🔥 I was quite dumbfounded⋯
And for a restaurant with such a high unit price, they didn’t even take the initiative to help change the plates. After eating the cuttlefish rice, the plate was all black and no one cared about it. When the steak was served, I felt that this restaurant really didn’t care about the plate presentation.
It's eye-opening that such an expensive item has no decoration at all and no attention to the appearance when served.
At the end of the checkout, I forgot that we had paid the deposit and almost forgot to deduct it. Wow, I ate almost 2,000 yuan by myself like this. I will definitely not visit again😵💫
This is a restaurant that is easy to find even at night
The lights are bright and there are plenty of seats!
The clerk was welcoming at first...but there was rat droppings in the store. The clerk would frequently show impatience and yawn all the time...
Doesn't affect your mood when ordering...
Because the store design is warm and generous, the menu is simple and the prices are reasonable.
Most importantly it tastes great!
❤️Bread in the store
I even take pictures of the bread in the store because they are hot enough, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, plus they provide butter! When you're very hungry, it's easy to accidentally eat an entire loaf of bread!
❤️Vegetable appetizers
Actually, I didn’t see this dish specifically on the menu. It was specially recommended to us by the waiter. When he said this, we really wanted to try it to see what it was! After arriving, I was a little dumbfounded and wondered what on earth this was! After cutting it in the middle, I found that it was full of vegetables. It tasted very fragrant. It felt like it was wrapped in flour or something and then cooked! Paired with a slightly flavorful sauce, I think it can be shared as a meal!
❤️ Pan-fried trout
Eating trout is actually very popular in Central and South America, and the trout here tastes very good! It should have been slightly pickled in advance, and there was not too much sauce on the outside. You can fully understand the original flavor of the fish. The vegetables on the side are very delicious. There are mushrooms and something like burdock inside. Go down and make it! The taste is moderate but not too salty, perfect for eating with fish!
❤️Seafood stew
Since it is a Spanish restaurant, there must be seafood risotto. Many times when you order seafood risotto in this kind of restaurant, it will taste very salty because it not only uses the saltiness of the original seafood but also adds more salt, but this restaurant Go make the seafood stew very delicious and sweet! All the flavors of the seafood are retained, the octopus is not too hard to eat, and the sweetness of the shrimp can also be tasted in the shrimp! Pair it with their slightly overcooked rice ~ a perfect combination of seafood stew! This is the most delicious dish I know so far! If you come, you can give it a try!
Generally speaking, apart from the yawning waiters, there are really no other disadvantages. Seeing as they make the food delicious, it doesn’t matter if they yawn a few times!
After eating the roasted pork, we started looking around for something delicious to eat and found this restaurant nearby. It's a Spanish restaurant but has a staggering 31 tap craft beers to choose from! It's very spectacular to line up.
We asked if we could just drink and then went in. The store was full and we were lucky enough to have a corner bar to sit at. The atmosphere in the store is noisy and happy. While drinking beer, the table next door was very high and playing games.
Originally, I only wanted to drink two cups before leaving, but I accidentally drank 4 or 5 cups. It’s really nice to be able to drink craft beer from all over Japan in one store!
Spanish restaurant in Hualien…
I ordered the set menu for two. The first two dishes, peeled chili noodles and seafood risotto, were delicious, but what surprised me the most was the pan-fried filet mignon. The steak was very tender.
Seafood risotto has a harder texture than Italian style.
The roasted pork cheek potatoes were also very tender.
The combination of desserts is also quite creative.
It’s worth coming back to try the pot rice (reservation required)
