Authentic Japanese-style rice balls; I don't know if the owner is Japanese, but the overall environment is clean and the service is friendly. You can conveniently make a reservation and pick it up.
The rice ball offerings are rich and varied in flavor, with the saltiness adjustable to your preference, and you can also pay extra to increase the filling portion. There are also Japanese desserts and snacks that taste like they do in Japan. They even provide an introduction to the history of Gohei rice cakes, dumplings, and rice balls, which is very thoughtful. If I weren't cutting down on carbs right now, I would definitely come here more often, haha!
I just happened to be near Cathay Hospital and there didn't seem to be many options, so I walked into this small MacDonald's.
This time, I ordered the Happiness Special and a Tropical Iced Tea. The Happiness Special includes French toast, two German sausages, egg salad, half a sweet potato, and vegetable salad.
The Happiness Special is almost always a common choice at MacDonald's. The French toast was cooked just right, and after drizzling on some honey, it tasted quite good—sweet but not overly so. The sausages were also cooked perfectly and weren't too salty this time. The salad was average, but the egg salad was quite tasty. As for the sweet potato, it was the most disappointing part; it had quite a few fibers and wasn’t very sweet. The Tropical Iced Tea was a bit sweet; I originally wanted to order something else, but it sold out early.
Overall, I recommend everyone try the brunch at MacDonald's.

If you want to interact with the ice bean, remember to reserve a spot on the first floor.
If you bring pets, they need to stay in a bag or in a stroller.
(The wooden floor on the second floor allows pets to walk.)
The ice bean has a lot of strength, so parents bringing children should be especially careful!
Although the ice bean is very well-behaved, it has a strong territory awareness towards male dogs.
When entering or coming down from the second floor, remember to inform the store first~
A great way to catch the manager's attention
Go to the counter and buy "Ice Bean's treats"!
Every time someone orders or checks out at the counter, it gets ready to pounce.
Once it sees you've bought treats, it can't wait for you to feed it.
The manager's skills: sit, shake hands 🤝, give me five ✋
Super smart and cute, it will really heal your heart ❤️
◽ Korean Spicy Crunchy Pork Belly Cream Noodles ✨ $380
> Comes with unsweetened black tea (can add sugar), swapping drinks reduces $50
> The wide noodles are seasoned with Korean spicy sauce, very flavorful! Be sure to mix well with the fresh cream before eating; not recommended for those who are afraid of spice~ The crunchy pork belly is a bit salty but very fragrant.
◽ French Pork Chop Pesto Risotto $340
> Comes with unsweetened black tea (can add sugar), swapping drinks reduces $50
> This dish is much lighter than the previous one. The pork chop is a bit fatty, grilled to a slight char, and the pesto risotto is on the drier side. I mentioned it at checkout, and the staff said they can adjust it according to customer preference. Next time, you can tell them when ordering!
◽ Sea Salt Caramel Cream Topped Latte ✨ $160
> The overall flavor balance is just right, the latte is delicious!
🐶 Ice Bean's Treats ✨ $100
> You can buy the manager's treats at the counter; "please do not" feed anything other than dog treats!

Moon Baking is a bread shop that I really love. They have dining in, takeout, and you can also order delivery through Uber Eats!
🥐 Red Bean Croissant: This is one of their popular signature items. If you eat it on-site, they will even give it a little reheating! The croissant has a nice texture like a baguette, paired with butter and not overly sweet red bean—delicious!
🍩 Moon Doughnut: This is also a must-buy every time! I love bread with a chewy QQ texture, and this doughnut is truly the ideal type for me in the doughnut world!!
I mainly order these two items. On days when I don’t have much of an appetite, I often pair Moon Baking’s bread with coffee for a meal—highly recommend!
Their small loaves of bread are also very delicious!!

I had saved this place before and it happened to coincide with a gathering with friends. They mentioned they had been wanting to visit for a long time, so here we are! The decor is simple, and the place was about 80-90% full that day.
▪️ Thai Basil Century Egg and Pork Floss Crispy Pancake Platter $115
· 1 century egg, pork floss, Thai basil
· Served with lettuce
I thought it would taste strange, but it turned out to be quite delicious. There wasn't a strong century egg flavor, and the overall taste blended well, though the pancake wasn't as crispy as I expected.
▪️ Oma Mama Yogurt Fried Chicken $260
· Stuffed chicken thigh, bamboo charcoal powder, special sauce
· Served with fruit vinegar or red tea or beverage discount of $20
It looked very appealing, and the taste was just regular fried chicken. It wasn’t very juicy, but it was quite tender. The sauce of the day was dragon fruit sauce, which was very unique; you need to add a bit more to get a light yogurt flavor. The fries that came with it were pretty good.
▪️ Thai Style Soft Shell Crab Burger $350
· Crispy soft shell crab, Thai seafood sauce, cheese, mixed lettuce
· Served with fruit vinegar or red tea or beverage discount of $20
I was most looking forward to this because of the fries that came with it, but my impression was just okay. They were very crispy, but for some reason, they lacked the aroma of fried potatoes, which was a bit disappointing. The soft shell crab was very well-fried and quite large; the overall taste was decent, but it didn’t have much Thai flair.
▪️ Sea Urchin Sauce Scallop Fish Roe $290
· Add beverage discount of $20
The sauce was thick but a bit salty. It wasn't extremely salty, but all four of us dining felt it was on the salty side, especially considering the price; there likely wasn't much sea urchin (no physical sea urchin). I’m not sure where the saltiness came from, but there was one scallop that was very tasty.
▪️ Ceylon Black Tea $40
▪️ American Coffee $75
▪️ Dodo Red $70
▪️ Apple C More $90
All of the above are at regular price, and some came with combo discounts. I only had the tea, and I ordered it unsweetened and hot, which was normal with no astringency, so I thought it was fine. I can't comment on the others since I didn't try them.
Overall, the decor is bright and simple; those who like ocean-themed places would likely find it pleasant. The dishes lean towards the Instagram aesthetic—nothing too extraordinary, but the four of us spent about $305 per person, which felt unexpectedly cheap (we didn’t leave overly full). One downside was the slow service; the staff informed us that it would take 30-40 minutes to wait, and it really was about 30 minutes before the drinks started to come out, taking nearly an hour for everything to be served. However, there weren't many people that day, so those in a hurry should assess the pace of service for themselves.
I actually haven't heard of this brunch restaurant before. This time, we happened to pass by the Molí temple and saw a long line at the entrance, and the weather was really hot. So we thought about going in for a cup of coffee or a cold drink. Fortunately, we only waited about three minutes for a table and were taken to the second floor to sit down. The server gave us a rather aloof expression, showing complete confidence and impatience, as if she wasn't worried about the business at all.
We still successfully placed our order. I chose a coffee latte, but switched to an oat milk latte because I couldn't stand the 34-degree heat outside. So today, I had an iced coffee. The first sip startled me a bit with its bitterness, but after stirring it well and taking a few more sips, I really loved the aroma. Combined with the refreshing essence of oat milk, the two made a perfect match!
We ordered a mango blueberry tart because we were worried that just two drinks might be too simple. From the photos, we chose one that looked pretty. To be honest, it tasted quite good. The fruit was fresh and didn't have that canned or gelatin taste, paired with a rich cream cheese base. It was sweet and mild, making it a great afternoon tea dessert to enjoy with coffee!
I saw many people in the restaurant ordering brunch, so I think their food offerings should be quite good too. However, since we only needed a small snack, we didn’t order a regular meal. If you're visiting the area, feel free to go and give it a try!

This is my fourth revisit for brunch, and it's consistently great!
With so many options on the menu, today I’m trying their handmade replica burger~
(For those who enjoy a soft texture like a Big Mac, you can order the salmon filet burger✨)
The best value place 😋
/
When ordering a set meal, it comes with a cup of black tea (optional drink substitution deducts $20) and a choice of 2 snacks from 9 options (potato balls / crispy potatoes / chicken nuggets / small meatballs / nine-layer squid / sweet potato balls / lettuce salad / curry fish balls / taro rice cake). I've only tried the small meatballs, nine-layer squid, and taro rice cake, all of which are delicious.
🍔 Hawaiian Bacon Beef Salsa Burger✨ Single order $160, Set $260
> I absolutely love the seasoning in the salsa burger; it resembles Mexican meat sauce and has cheese added! The bacon is fragrant and not dry, and the beef patty is much thicker than I expected, juicy yet not crumbly😍
🍔 Mexican Bomb Fried Pork Chop Burger Single order $170, Set $270
> The sauce is probably a mix of tartar sauce and Mexican chili, which is at the acceptable threshold for those who like mild spice; if you remove it, it shouldn't be that spicy. The fried pork chop is very thick! I genuinely think the pork chop is fried very well👍🏻 with a bouncy texture, no pork smell, and juicy (the reason I didn’t give it a full ✨ is that the sauce flavor isn’t my favorite).
🥪 Taro Paste and Meat Floss Sandwich✨ $70
> The taro paste and meat floss are both slightly sweet and slightly salty, making it a perfect post-meal snack, delicious and has a lot of taro filling!

In the afternoon, I took a break to have a little bit of my own time. I searched online for brunch places that serve French toast, and this one popped up. As soon as I entered the shop, I was greeted by a rich coffee aroma. The decor has a very hipster vibe.
The first floor is dedicated to enjoying desserts and coffee, while the dining area is located on the second floor. Even on a weekday afternoon, there were quite a few people, as it's close to the famous tourist area, Yongkang Street. Upon entering, they took me upstairs to be seated. After ordering via QR code, I had to go down to the first floor to pay. I think it would be better if they allowed everyone to pay online, so we wouldn't have to go back and forth (just a personal wish).
🌟 Little France
I absolutely love French toast. The four small pieces of eggy toast were extremely moist and delicious. Paired with the maple syrup provided, it was just irresistibly good. The sausage was perfectly crispy and not overly salty.
The warm soup was corn chowder, but it wasn’t the thick creamy soup with fresh milk. It was more the lighter kind of corn soup, which didn’t overshadow the main dish and made me, a soup lover, very happy.
The American scrambled eggs seemed to lack seasoning and had a mild flavor. However, there were salt and pepper available in the self-service area, so that was fine.
The two pieces of sweet potato were roasted and seasoned, really increasing the sense of fullness. I didn’t finish them because I was really full, but it's also because I don't have a particular love for sweet potatoes.
Overall, I really enjoyed the entire meal. The drinks were unsweetened and I highly recommend them. The price was 348 NT without service charge, which I think is very reasonable for brunch in Taipei. Highly recommended!

This place has a pretty good business, and it has been open for several years! So it's safer to make a reservation before going to avoid waiting too long 😆
The duck breast is super fragrant! Actually, I personally don't really like duck breast 🤣, because it’s usually quite tough. But the one I had today was within my acceptable range; it had a crispy exterior and tender interior, which was quite balanced.
The bread is also crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! I love this texture 🤤
The other ingredients are very fresh and feel light while eating.
The special seasoned tender chicken panini has a bit of spiciness, just mild enough to be considered slightly spicy. If you like stronger flavors, you can give it a try!
As for the drinks, they are very smooth! The sweetness is just right!
