This is a matcha 🍵 shop located inside the famous TeamLab. The reason this matcha is well-known is that when it is poured into the cup, flowers 🌸 appear in the matcha inside the cup. Although they are just light projections, the experience is quite nice and feels very cute!
Additionally, since the entire exhibition space has this kind of lighting effect, the matcha drinks seem even fresher. The matcha itself tastes great and blends well with the milk 🥛, leaving no bitter aftertaste, but instead a very pleasant matcha flavor!
I recommend that those who enjoy matcha should definitely visit the tea room to taste it after the exhibition. This matcha has lingered in my memory even when I went to another exhibition space, and I've been thinking about going back for another cup!
Reviewer from Yatao: There's a restroom
This is Nakamura Tokichi's Byodoin branch, and I've always wanted to try their matcha. I visited on a holiday, and there were quite a few people. You find your own seat, order on a tablet, and pick up your food when your number is called. The turnover of seats is relatively quick, but it does take some time to wait for the food.
We ordered:
Maruto Parfait [Green World] (1,850 yen): A Byodoin store exclusive matcha parfait, it has a rich and layered texture and is quite delicious. Ordering this comes with a cup of matcha, which tastes great, and there's a small card introducing the ingredients inside, which is quite interesting.
Matcha and Milk Cold (680 yen) & Hojicha and Milk Cold (680 yen): Both teas are well-balanced and very smooth to drink.
Reviewer with Braces: There is a Toilet
This is the main branch of a shop specializing in matcha, located next to the Uji Bridge. Established during the Heian period, it has a history of over 800 years and is a representative old shop in Uji. We stumbled upon this shop and were able to enjoy a direct view of the Uji Bridge and the riverside from our indoor seating, which provided a pretty nice environment. We visited on a holiday and waited about 15 minutes to be seated, which was quite fast.
We ordered:
Matcha Soba Noodles (1,200 yen)
The soba noodles are matcha-colored, which looks special, but there is no particularly strong matcha flavor; the texture is on the finer and softer side.
Matcha & Hojicha Ice Cream (380 yen)
This dish was quite good, with a strong tea flavor. The hojicha has a bit of a roasted aroma, while the matcha is rich and smooth without being overly sweet.
Matcha Dumplings & Red Bean Matcha Tangyuan (1,200 yen)
The dumplings have a chewy texture, paired with rich matcha sauce and red beans. The overall sweetness is moderate and not overly cloying; I really enjoyed this dish.
Overall, the desserts at this shop perform well, especially considering it's a century-old establishment. The ice cream and dumplings are both fragrant with tea. If you like matcha, it’s definitely worth a visit, and you can also enjoy the scenery of Uji.
Review from a brace-wearer: No bathroom for takeout.
This place is 京抹茶クレープ ARINCO, located on the streets of Arashiyama, Kyoto, and it specializes in matcha crepes. You can see many people walking around with crepes in hand nearby.
I ordered the Sugar Butter (650 yen). The crepe is a bit thick, with a moist and soft texture, unlike the typical thin and crispy French crepes. The crepe itself is matcha-flavored, with a strong matcha aroma and a slight bitterness from the tea, so it doesn't just taste excessively sweet. However, it was sprinkled with a bit too much sugar, making it somewhat sweeter. If you don't like things too sweet, it might feel a bit heavy. Overall, matcha lovers should enjoy it; the flavor and texture of the crepe are quite good, making it a nice snack while strolling in Arashiyama.
Founded in 1832 in Kyoto, initially engaged in the tea business, it later transformed into a matcha specialty store. This Taipei Zhongshan store is the only overseas location! Moreover, the number of matcha specialty stores in Taiwan is quite limited.
This store began in 2016 and is located near the rear station of Taipei Main Station, not far from the Zhongshan District shopping area. Earlier this year, it relocated from its old site across the street to the new site, which has a slightly larger seating area for dining.
This time, with many people, we ordered a variety of items.
Even on weekends, there are almost always available seats, and there is no need to queue, which raises some concern about whether it can be successfully operated. Perhaps it is because the rules set by this store are too numerous, for example: no reservations (making it difficult to arrange afternoon tea with friends), a minimum spend of one meal per person (which means starting at 290 NT), a dining time limit of 60–70 minutes (not conducive to chatting), and weekday hours only until 7:30 PM (is this in line with Japanese stores?), with a 10% service charge only accepted in cash (which is quite uncommon).
Near the end of Tamsui Old Street, I saw a matcha dessert shop, next to the river, and an outdoor area with Japanese-style wooden and rattan tables and chairs.
The weather was too hot, so I ordered Oyama Maru matcha ice cream. The clerk suggested changing it to a cup (because the ice cream melts quickly), but the cone is an indispensable element of ice cream! Of course there has to be a cone.
This ice cream does melt quickly, so you have to eat it quickly. The texture is smooth and creamy, and the matcha flavor is moderate without any bitterness. This is the unique quality of Japanese matcha powder. Thinking back many years ago, Taiwanese green tea powder was labeled as matcha, but the taste was really different.
The cone has a sweet taste and is moderately thick and hard. Overall, the quality is quite good and highly recommended. The store will also include a single package of wet wipes printed with its own brand for easy wiping of mouth and hands.
I've passed by it several times before, and this time I came here on holiday. The limited-edition frog ice is very cute, and the passion fruit filling inside the wagashi is not too sweet, it's just right.
The bottom is a plum-flavored smoothie, which I personally think is very ordinary and tastes similar to the smoothies eaten outside.
I ordered different items with my boyfriend. His snowflake ice was served with a cup of pei tea as a drizzle, which gave it a bitter-sweet taste😘
The atmosphere is very good and the sofa chairs are very comfortable to sit on.
The overall price is quite high. Unless you are bringing friends to eat limited-edition ice cream, you probably won’t come here too often🥺
Matcha Latte $130
Hojicha latte $130
Both matcha and hojicha are hand-made on-site, with just the right aroma and concentration. The slight sugar is not too sweet, about one-half the sweetness of sugar in a beverage store. Ordering sugar-free will not be bitter! If you are someone who usually likes to drink matcha, you will definitely like it💚
The store has windows on both sides, with the ordering area on the road side and the dining area on the seaside. There are two seaside seats where you can sit and enjoy while watching the seaside. The atmosphere is great! I want to try desserts and ice cream again next time I have a chance!

✍️A food note about picking up a gun٩(˃̶͈̀௰˂̶͈́)و✍️
Unfortunately, I gave this store the lowest star after Giant City Wa City.
As a matcha lover, the quality of this restaurant is really not up to standard😀
I can accept it being opened in a shopping mall so the price is higher📈
But the quality really deserves the price ^_^
⚠️General things to note⚠️:
👌🏻General experience👌🏻:
🍴Dining experience🍴:
1.Pearl White Jade Matcha Sundae🍵🍦
No! often! thunder!
The ice cream part was very hard and gritty
It doesn't feel like ice cream
It tastes like the free ice cream machine at a hot pot restaurant.
The matcha part is not strong at all and has a chemical taste.
It tastes very watery⋯😑
The white jade part is even more thunderous
Much like chewing a completely inelastic ball
It feels a lot like leaving it at room temperature from early in the morning to afternoon
In addition, judging from this level, the price is really too high.
A serving of ice cream is $145, so bye bye
I reluctantly give 1 star to my favorite pearl.
(But this one is not delicious🥹)
Conclusion: 🌟1/5, very watery ice with no taste, super low cp value, white jade becomes very hard after being stored for a long time

Everyone is so good~\••/ I am so lazy~
This time I would like to recommend to you the Japanese tea specialty store-Kansya
\••/\••/\••/
#price:
*A mid-range to high-priced exquisite route, but being able to drink such high-quality tea and snacks in Kaohsiung will really make you happy.
#taste:
*Matcha ice cream: I have never tasted matcha ice cream with such a rich flavor. I heard from the store clerk that it is made with pure matcha. It has a creamy texture and is full of matcha flavor. The sweet and slightly bitter taste is amazing!
*Hojicha Latte: The aroma of tea is already wafting as soon as the cup is served. After stirring evenly, I found that the aroma of latte and tea are perfectly blended. It is really rich and mellow.
*Daifuku Tea: The store clerk told us that it is matcha developed in Japan for blessings and comes from Marukyu Koyamaen in Kyoto. Before enjoying it, eat it with black bean dessert to avoid the bitter taste of matcha. The light sweetness paired with the strong tea aroma of matcha is really a matcha that will make people forget to leave! Push push push\••/\••/\•_•/
#diningexperience:
*Watching the chef at the bar making the legendary matcha, enjoying the aroma of the tea, coupled with the elegant yet relaxed interior decoration in the store, and the tea bowls that you can choose by yourself, it can be said that it is the most delicious and delicious restaurant I have visited recently. A rare store.
#surroundings:
*It is located on Guangzhou 1st Street opposite the Cultural Center. The signboard is not very conspicuous, so you have to look carefully. There is a parking lot nearby, and it is very convenient to ride by bike or car.
#Summarize:
*Full marks for the food and service. The disadvantage of having to nitpick is that it is quite famous. It is almost full during the afternoon tea period. If you want to experience it, remember to avoid the peak hours.
That’s it for this time’s recommendations!
I'm lazy and lazy, see you next time~
