This time visiting the restaurant "墨多" was my second visit! It is a rare Mexican-flavored restaurant, located in a somewhat hidden spot, but its exterior is fairly recognizable. Upon stepping inside, you immediately feel an exotic atmosphere; it's a great place for friends to gather or for family dinners, where you can enjoy the dishes properly. This time I sampled several dishes, and each one was satisfying!
"Burrata Salad"
A refreshing start, with fresh and crispy lettuce. The burrata is creamy and smooth, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, making for a light yet layered salad. 🥗
"Cheese and Tomato Beef Sauce with Tortilla Chips"
You can choose between tortilla chips or fries. The cheese is rich, and the beef sauce is fragrant, with crunchy tortilla chips that go well together—rich but not greasy, and perfectly salty.
"Assorted Seafood Platter"
Quite impressive! Scallops, clams, and fresh shrimp were all very fresh, cooked perfectly with no fishy taste. You can taste the care put into each bite.
"Mexican Cheese Quesadilla (Mushroom Flavor)"
I chose the non-spicy version, where the mushroom aroma perfectly blends with the smooth cheese. The tortilla is crispy, and the filling is flavorful, complemented by a special dipping sauce that enhances the taste. Next time, I want to try the mildly spicy pork flavor.
"Tacos"
Three varieties, each with its own character:
"Drinks"
I chose a Belgian white beer and two types of kombucha. The elderflower apple kombucha is on the sweeter side, while the marigold flavor is fragrant and helps to cleanse the palate. Friends who love herbal flavors will enjoy this!
In summary, this restaurant is a great place that combines flavors and care in its dishes—none of them disappointed me! If you're thinking of eating here, remember to make a reservation, otherwise, there's a high chance you won't find a seat if you just show up.
🌮 Mexican tortillas, or tacos, are a common street food in the US-Mexico region. Having tried the crispy shell variety at the well-known chain Taco Bell, it has left a lasting impression.
I looked up RollFive, which claims to have the crispy version called "Golden Crispy Taco." However, on the menu at the京站店 (Jing Station store), I only found the "Signature Taco" and "Classic Burrito," with no clarification on the type of taco shell, which was quite confusing.
I ordered the three signature tacos: Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken, BBQ Grilled Pork, and Mexican Stir-Fried Beef. When they were served, it was clear that they used Tortilla corn flour tortillas, filled with some meat chunks and cheese, but none of the flavors were remarkable. While Mexican seasoning is known for being complex and varied, RollFive seemed to be wrapping tortillas around locally flavored fillings, selling them for nearly double the price.
I also ordered grilled chicken wings, which were tender, but the seasoning was not noticeably different from American-style wings. So how can they compete with the already popular American restaurants in Taiwan?

Dickson's Food Review #288
This time, let's quickly move to Mexico!!
(The next few articles will be about food from Mexico and the USA 😂😂)
I think most people probably haven't been to Mexico,
so Dickson came here specifically to unbox authentic Mexican cuisine for everyone.
When you think of Mexican food,
the first thing that probably comes to mind is tacos, right?
So here’s a little info for everyone (don’t blame me if I say something wrong 😂😂).
In fact, tacos 🌮 are very common in Mexico,
and they are a food that people eat regularly.
It's kind of like our sandwiches or toasted bread, etc.
As for tacos,
they primarily consist of a tortilla wrapping various fillings.
Usually in Mexico, tortillas are made from corn or regular flour.
But really for them,
the key to a taco is what's inside the filling.
The outer tortilla is like the bread of our egg sandwich;
the focus is still on the contents of your sandwich.
Just like how you might choose pork or beef fillings at a breakfast shop,
that makes a big difference!
Because there are so many possible fillings for tacos,
the menu can be quite diverse with various options to choose from,
but most are primarily pork or beef.
However, different cuts of meat provide different textures and cooking methods,
so on the menu, you can see many types of meats with varied options for each cut.
Additionally, an important point for them regarding tacos is the sauces.
You can see that sauces are very important to them as well,
and there are many choices to pair with.
Especially here, there are many types of wild chili sauces,
and the people here can really handle their spice!
This time, I came to this restaurant
thanks to local Mexican friends.
Before entering the restaurant,
you must first wash your hands with the soap and clean water provided outside.
After all, many types of food consumed inside are typically eaten with your hands 😂😂😂.
As for the meals here,
I think they are quite standard for Mexico,
and because the prices are very low, the cost-performance ratio is high.
If you're looking to try authentic Mexican cuisine,
this place is a good option.
However, most of the staff here don't speak English very well,
and the menu is only in Spanish,
so communication might be a bit of a challenge.
After all, you need to be able to order food to eat!
Besides tacos,
there are also many other options on the menu,
but the menu is quite complex,
and selecting which type of meat to eat took quite a bit of time.
So if I get the chance to come again in the future, I’ll try something new!

⭐️ Food section
👉 Beef tongue taco
I personally ordered beef tongue this time,
and overall, I think it was pretty standard.
Of course, it's much better than the Taiwanese-style Mexican food.
After all, this place offers a more authentic taste.
There are many choices of meat here;
even regular beef, beef tongue, and oxtail can be selected as taco fillings!
Additionally, if you don't add other seasonings,
it's just a basic taco shell with meat,
so you definitely need to grab some sauces for pairing!
👉 Meat platter
I’m not quite sure what this is called,
but basically, you can choose various types of meat to create a platter,
and then just happily eat the meat inside.
There will also be some fresh veggies or tortillas for wrapping,
depending on how you like to mix and match!
Although the food here is very authentic,
personally, I don’t particularly enjoy it 😂😂😂.
I guess it’s just a chance to experience the taste.
⭐️ Atmosphere section
This restaurant has just been renovated,
so it looks very new on the streets of Mexico,
with added sofas and television screens, etc.
Also, the kitchen has a transparent glass design,
so you can see the chefs at work.
For a Mexican restaurant,
this one is quite advanced and modern,
and it's also very bright overall.
It’s a very new place!
So, if you're looking for a bright and traditional Mexican restaurant,
this would be a great choice!
⭐️ Service section
Basically, Mexicans are quite warm-hearted,
but because our language skills are really limited,
ordering can be a bit difficult.
However, if you encounter a server who speaks some English,
the difficulty level decreases significantly.
Additionally, when parking outside,
there will be someone guiding you on how to park.
⭐️ Price section
Converted to Taiwanese dollars,
the meals here are really cheap,
so I think you don’t have to worry about the prices at all 😂😂😂.
⭐️ Overall
Overall, this is a traditional Mexican restaurant
that even locals love to visit.
You can find most types of Mexican cuisine here.
If you're nearby,
do come check it out!
This restaurant is actually somewhat famous in California.. After all, Mexican cuisine originally started as street food, and gradually evolved into restaurants 🍴, and this particular restaurant is a more upscale Mexican dining experience. Aside from this place, I also visited their branch in Los Angeles last time, which is located directly inside a luxury hotel 🏨— one can imagine they are moving towards a more upscale route!
The service is indeed commendable. I actually arrived much earlier than expected today, but they did their best to arrange seating for us. As is customary, we ordered tacos. Today we tried three different flavors of tacos:
❤️ Baja fish 🎣
This is something I always love to order when I come here because the fish is in large chunks— with one bite you can have a mouthful of fish meat, which is my favorite aspect. It tastes a lot like McDonald’s double Filet-O-Fish 🍟 but in a different shape and presented in a healthier, tastier way with better salad 🥗 and avocado 🥑.
❤️ shrimp 🦐
The shrimp taco is also a flavor I really enjoy. The shrimp itself is very firm, resembling the kind of Thai shrimp. The sauce on the outside is tart and sweet, somewhat like Korean pickled vegetables but with a bit of spice 🌶️— it’s a wonderfully well-combined flavor. Because the shrimp’s outer skin is slightly crispy, the texture is very rich!
❤️ lobster 🦞
As for the lobster, I was a little disappointed. I had never tried this flavor before, and after tasting it today, I think it’s better not to order it in the future.. The lobster part was too small overall, and almost all I got were small bits of fried meat. It was not at all what I expected in terms of enjoying a full lobster. Although it looks quite luxurious, compared to the fish and shrimp, it feels too empty, like I didn’t eat anything! It doesn't seem worth being the most expensive taco on the menu.
This is my second time at this restaurant. Although it’s a different branch, the quality is consistently maintained to a certain extent. Personally, I still quite recommend it, especially their cocktails 🍸, which are also very good. I hope those coming to California can give it a try!
In the UK, many people do not think there are good restaurants, but in reality, you really need to explore to find them. The restaurant I visited today has a Michelin star 🌟, and true to my usual habit, I wanted to try a Michelin-rated place!
As soon as I entered the restaurant, the staff warmly welcomed me, inquiring about any food allergies while confirming my willingness to try most Mexican spices and insects 🐛. With a spirit of brave experimentation, I said I was willing to try everything! Thus began this special journey through Mexican 🇲🇽 cuisine…
❤️ Appetizers
The waiter began by crushing some insects, spices, and oil in front of me, adding them into a bowl of orange soup that was placed before me. This was a spicy soup that awakened my taste buds; I must clarify that it has a bit of spiciness 🌶️, so if you're not accustomed to spicy food, think twice!
The second appetizer was made from angelica, chrysanthemums, and some peas 🫛, offering a slightly sweet and simple starter!
The third dish, calamari 🦑, was my favorite appetizer. The freshness of the calamari was excellent, and it had a very chewy texture, paired with corn 🌽 and beets to create a sweet and savory flavor!
❤️ Main Menu
The main menu starts with a series of very creative dishes, such as lamb 🐑 paired with sorrel, or crab 🦀 with pumpkin and verbena, and even apples paired with mead and ants~! Many ingredients, before trying them, I had no idea would produce such flavors. For example, I previously didn’t know that ants 🐜 were sour, but here they are used to enhance the taste, similar to lemon 🍋, making it a rather unique experience!
Although the portions of each dish are not large, the quality is excellent, so by the time you finish a little of each, you can feel quite full. Since I chose a smaller menu, if you're really hungry, you can opt for another option that would have more dishes! I recommend those who are adventurous to give it a try~
The decor has a Mexican style that is very charming, and the atmosphere is great. Tuesday is buy one get one free taco day, and the reservations are fully booked; the business is doing well. The carnitas tacos have pork shoulder immersed in oils and spices like orange, cinnamon, and cloves, which gives them a distinctive and surprising flavor. The lengua (beef tongue) paired with fruits and spices offers a delicious combination of sweetness from the fruits and savory richness from the meat; it’s a signature dish. The horchata (Mexican rice drink) was surprisingly amazing the first time I tried it. I felt like I could keep having cup after cup without stopping. Adding some cinnamon powder enhances the flavor even more, and it can also be turned into an alcoholic drink, which I plan to try next time. The birria with consomé served with fried tortillas offers a different delicious flavor as well. They also provide Mexican hot sauce that you can add at your leisure, which is fantastic.
A small shop selling Mexican fast food, the flavors are quite good but the seasoning is on the lighter side. Compared to typical flavors, it feels healthier with more vegetables. If you like spicy food, the shop offers many types of Taitung Anita chili peppers. The benefit is that it adds a satisfying kick, but be careful not to add too much, or you won't be able to taste the ingredients. Overall, the food is quite good, and the environment is relatively clean.
I stumbled upon a Mexican bistro and was pleasantly surprised by how affordable it was. Two of us had a hearty meal, even ordering a drink, and with a 10% service charge, it only came to $1297.
The food was quite tasty. The ribeye steak burrito was quite large, and the steak was tender without being tough to chew.
The hand-pulled pork taco was a bit oily but delicious, with the pork cooked down to perfect tenderness and flavor.
The roasted hand-pulled chicken bao had cheese inside, giving it a unique flavor.
The truffle crispy fries had a strong truffle taste, which truffle lovers would appreciate, and the portion size was generous.
I enjoyed the dining environment with my friend; the music wasn't too loud, and even sitting at the bar wasn't cramped – it was comfortable. Unlike some bistros that are too noisy for conversation, they offered free water, so non-drinkers could enjoy unlimited water. 😂 The restrooms on the second floor were bright and clean, which I liked. 🥰
Since Christmas was approaching, the place was decorated beautifully, creating a great atmosphere. Both the first and second floors had screens for watching sports. Ordering was done via QR code, and it was nice to be able to customize the dishes.
On Friday nights, there were always customers, so I recommend making a reservation; otherwise, you might not find a spot during busy hours. Reservations allow for a three-hour dining time, which is great, and the service was excellent. If you couldn't finish your meal, they would pack it for you. At checkout, they even proactively recommended adding the official Line account for a 5% discount.
This bistro offers great value, and it’s conveniently located near Taipei Station, making it easy to get to. I highly recommend it! 👍 I’m looking forward to coming back with friends next time.
First time trying vegetarian Mexican food, I initially thought that eating mainly raw vegetables wouldn't have much difference, but quite a bit of plant-based meat was added, and I'm still not quite used to it🥹 However, I recommend it to my vegetarian friends as another option!!
▶ Beef Bowl $429 ◀
I originally thought vegetarian cuisine would mostly consist of vegetables, but surprisingly, it's a restaurant that uses plant-based meat~ It's very vegetarian-friendly. The beef is made from plant-based meat and is filled with ingredients like soybean similar to red beans, diced tomatoes, corn chips, avocado mash, shredded cabbage, and lots of beef, offering a rich taste and a very satisfying meal!
▶ Bacon Cheese Macaroni $199 ◀
The bacon is also made from plant-based meat, and each piece of macaroni is covered in a rich cheese sauce. In addition to the cheese sauce, cheese powder is sprinkled on top, making the whole dish very cheesily rich~
The restaurant is located next to a very famous hotel, and many hotel guests often come here directly for dinner because the food is delicious and the wine 🍷 is excellent! The service is also impeccable, making it a great choice for people on vacation or on business trips! Moreover, if you come at the right time ⏰, you can see Disney's fireworks 🎆 from the hotel next door, adding a touch of romance!
Let me quickly introduce the dishes I ordered today..
❤️ chicken/filet/fish/shrimp tacos
I grouped them all together because I don't think I need to elaborate on each flavor's details. You can confidently choose the meat you like, as their tacos are well-seasoned. I tried four flavors myself, and my friend ordered three, so among the seven choices, none were disappointing! Every bite was delightful, and my favorite among the ones I ordered was the shrimp 🦐 flavor, which was fresh and paired with a slightly tangy sauce that was a treat for the tastebuds!
❤️ passionfruit & mango shrimp ceviche
When I ordered this dish, my friends wondered why I chose another shrimp dish. However, while eating, they kept praising it. This classic appetizer features fresh shrimp 🦐 paired with the sweet and sour flavors of passionfruit and mango 🥭, bringing a refreshing and appetizing touch in the heat of summer!
❤️ guava margarita
It's common in the U.S. to have a cocktail with your meal. Margarita is a very common cocktail, but it's my first time seeing a pomegranate margarita 🍸. After ordering, I was not disappointed at all. The alcohol is blended without bitterness, with a hint of pomegranate's sweet aroma! I really liked the taste of this cocktail!
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. For guests staying nearby, I think you shouldn’t miss this convenient and delicious restaurant! Even though I’m not a hotel guest, I still think about coming here for a dinner when I have the chance!
