Dickson's Fooday mouth-watering food review is updated!
This time we visited a Michelin restaurant! 🌟🌟
And there’s a record of 500 dishes~~
Chinese Cuisine - Heart's Tide Restaurant!
This restaurant has always been on my bucket list,
but it seems more suited for a larger group dining.
That’s why I haven’t visited until now.
Only after Father's Day did I choose this restaurant for a family meal.
Even though it is a Michelin restaurant,
I found booking a table wasn't as difficult as I imagined.
Basically, as long as you time it right and book online, you should be fine!
Of course, during peak hours, you might need to book a bit earlier~
But compared to other renowned Michelin restaurants,
this one is relatively easier to secure a reservation!
Its location is also on the upper floor of Breeze Xinyi,
just minutes away from convenient transportation.
Once you walk upstairs, you can quickly spot the restaurant around the corner.
Overall, it has a very vintage charm.
The decor and spatial planning are also quite fitting,
suitable for both a two-person meal or a family gathering.
There are several tables outside the restaurant as well,
which should be for those who wish to queue on-site,
giving them the option to sit outside.
The menu is quite rich,
and overall, the descriptions and specifications of each dish are very detailed,
clearly labeling every different category.
If you need to order, you can just signal the waitstaff!~
This restaurant is mainly known for its fried rice,
so let's order a few dishes of fried rice!
Since it has the honor of being a Michelin restaurant,
the quality of its dishes must surely be above average.
Let’s see how it holds up to the Michelin star standard!

⭐️ Food
The dishes ordered on that day are as follows:
👉 Tomato Crystal Sweet Shrimp
This dish is considered a chilled appetizer.
It features various types of tomatoes paired with sweet shrimp.
The variety of tomatoes is abundant, and they come in all colors,
making for a vibrant presentation.
It’s a dish that looks better than it tastes.
The crystal sweet shrimp was ice-cold and delicious.
Although the size of the shrimp is small,
each person can at least enjoy one shrimp,
paired with the tomatoes, providing a refreshing sensation.
However, the portion is a bit small,
as there were four of us and sharing this dish left us wanting more.
Later I realized that at Heart's Tide,
the portion sizes for every dish are generally small.
If four to six people are dining,
I would recommend ordering at least two servings of each dish
to suit larger groups.
For a single dish, it is suitable for about 2-3 people.
👉 Premium American Ribeye Fried Rice 10oz
First, we ordered a ribeye fried rice.
Since they boast premium American ribeye,
the quality of the beef must be great.
While ordering, the staff also asked how we would like the beef cooked,
and the default recommendation was medium-rare.
We decided to go with medium-rare too.
When it was served, I realized the portion wasn’t very large.
Regardless, the flavor is fantastic.
The quality of the beef is excellent,
and overall, coupled with the fried rice,
it makes for a very tasty dish.
I can definitely see why this restaurant’s specialty is fried rice,
as they handle it exceptionally well!
I would absolutely recommend this fried rice!
Though at this price point, the smaller portions are a bit disappointing,
the flavor and taste make it well worth the try.
👉 Kung Fu Fragrant Chicken Soup
For the chicken soup, when it was served,
everyone was a bit taken aback,
as it was the first time we saw chicken soup served in a teapot.
Those familiar with teapots know they hold a limited amount,
so the soup really didn’t have much inside.
The liquid in the teapot was just about filled to its size,
and there were certainly some chicken pieces and other ingredients inside,
but overall, the portion was very minimal.🤣🤣🤣
Since there were four of us for the soup,
four little cups were provided for serving.
Each person could only drink about two small cups before it was gone.🥲🥲
However, the ingredients were quite substantial,
containing chicken and several other accompaniments.
The soup was simmered very flavorful!
But due to the minuscule portion,
I wouldn’t highly recommend this dish compared to others!
👉 Fried Soft-shell Crab with Egg Yolk and Roselle Sauce
This dish features fried soft-shell crab,
coated in egg yolk,
paired with a roselle sauce on the side.
When served, I found it visually stunning.
This was another dish that looked better than it tasted!
The fried soft shell crab was handled quite well, crispy and tender.
Yet again, the portion was quite small,
each person only received one piece of fried soft-shell crab,
and could add the sauce on the side for dipping.
Thus, each person ate one piece, and that was it for this dish.🤣🤣🤣
👉 Sakura Shrimp Cabbage
Since we ordered rice, we also needed some greens!
This dish is simply stir-fried cabbage
with a generous topping of sakura shrimp.
However, as it's just stir-fried cabbage,
there isn’t much that’s exceptionally surprising.
That said, this dish actually had the largest portion of anything we ordered.
Looks like greens are priced more reasonably? 🤣🤣🤣
👉 Roasted Taiwanese Duck Leg
After seeing an enticing picture of duck leg,
we obviously had to order one to try.
Similarly, I thought all their dishes were well prepared,
whether it was in terms of flavor,
or the cooking heat and tenderness,
I found everything on point, including the duck leg.
Although the portion was also quite small,
only about seven to eight pieces.
Each person could easily finish this dish with just one or two pieces.
However, everyone dining with me that day praised the dishes we tried,
and I can only say it’s delightful to dine on such exquisite meals.
I personally would recommend ordering this duck leg.
👉 Grilled Scallop and Fish Roe Fried Rice
Initially, we only ordered the previously mentioned beef fried rice,
but felt that one dish wouldn’t be enough for all four of us.
Thus, in the second round, we ordered the fish roe fried rice as well.
This fried rice features grilled scallops on top,
and while ordering, the staff mentioned
that the default serving only includes three scallops.
Would we like to add one more?
We immediately requested an additional scallop,
but I wasn’t sure if there would be an extra charge for this.
I suppose there would be? 🤣🤣🤣
This scallop and fish roe fried rice,
I personally think is also highly recommended.
The scallop was half-cooked,
and was handled quite well,
with a generous portion of fish roe throughout the fried rice.
Overall, this fried rice is flavorful and rich!
However, it’s unfortunate that the portion was again quite small.
I feel this restaurant’s fried rice portions
are designed for about 1 to 1.5 adults per serving.
So if you visit,
feel free to order more dishes.
You can also wait until your food arrives, then add more if necessary!
Keep in mind,
they do have a one-and-a-half-hour dining time limit,
and your last order must be placed within the final half-hour.
So be mindful of your dining timing to enjoy your meal!
👉 Stir-fried Eggs with Shrimp
In the second round, since we ordered fried rice,
I thought we should complement it with another hot dish.
As I really enjoy scrambled egg dishes with shrimp,
I ordered the scrambled eggs with white shrimp.
I genuinely loved this white shrimp with scrambled eggs dish.
Although it's cooked similarly to what you’d find elsewhere,
the shrimp was plentiful,
and the overall egg texture was fantastic!
When combined with the fried rice, it provided a different flavor experience.
This dish is also another I'd recommend!
👉 Classic Caramel Pudding
For dessert, we chose pudding and tiramisu.
Regarding desserts, I found they were just average.
The caramel pudding had the very traditional bitter caramel consistency.
In terms of dessert quality, it's medium to above average.
After finishing the main courses, the dessert was a nice choice.
👉 Signature Mung Bean Tiramisu
The tiramisu, although mentioned earlier as mung bean-flavored,
didn't leave much of a mung bean impression upon tasting.
The tiramisu was quite average,
the most standard version you could find.
Its alcohol flavor wasn't very strong,
so it’s not one of those heavy alcoholic tiramisus,
basically, it topped the standard level but wasn’t definitely distinct!
⭐️ Drinks
They also have quite a variety of beverage options,
with a lengthy drink menu.
Since there’s a bar area within the restaurant,
you can order cocktails as well as red or white wines.
If you’re not looking for cocktails or alcoholic drinks,
there are plenty of soft drink options,
including carbonated drinks and juices.
We only ordered two beverages that day:
👉 Roselle Lemon Sparkling
👉 Apple Osmanthus Oolong
I thought both drinks were fantastic,
especially the Apple Osmanthus Oolong.
After trying it, older folks were singing its praises,
as it had the sweetness of apple combined with the flavor of osmanthus.
Even though it’s oolong tea,
they really enjoyed it!
The Roselle sparkling lemon had a sweet and sour taste,
but was a bit less distinctive.
I’d recommend ordering something like the Apple Osmanthus Oolong,
which I believe the older folks would love!
⭐️ Atmosphere
The indoor space isn’t very large,
but there are many private dining areas,
so if your party exceeds four people,
you’ll be prioritized to a private room for dining.
Of course, there are many tables for two or four outside too,
suitable for two-person dates or four friends dining together.
The restaurant does have a decent number of tables,
but the spacing between these tables is quite tight.
If nearby patrons are being too loud,
it can get a bit noisy.
The interior decor generally employs a green theme,
giving it a sense of returning to a vintage restaurant vibe.
But it’s contrasted a bit by
the presence of a modern cocktail bar in the restaurant.
So, it creates a unique blend of modern and classic.
Within each private room,
there are artistic wall decorations or murals enhancing the decor.
Overall, I find the dining atmosphere quite pleasant!
⭐️ Service
The staff here are very friendly and polite.
For instance, when ordering, they recommend dishes and introduce the menu.
They also check in regularly to refill water for everyone.
If you want to take photos,
the staff is very enthusiastic about assisting with that as well.
Overall, the service here is akin to any upscale restaurant,
ensuring you feel well cared for.
⭐️ Price
I think the biggest downside for this restaurant is the pricing.
Even though it’s a Michelin restaurant located in a department store in Xinyi,
perhaps this causes the costs to be a bit higher.
But since the portion sizes are truly small,
the prices don’t seem reasonable—
this restaurant’s offerings focus on fine dining precision,
with each dish visually appealing and well-crafted,
so you can’t fault the culinary expertise!
However, if you’re looking for a filling meal or want to indulge in multiple dishes,
you’ll likely need to dig deeper into your pockets.
Therefore, I'd say it's a place worth trying to sample different flavors,
but if you want to enjoy a substantial meal akin to typical Chinese dining,
it may require a pretty hefty bill.
So, I think this is a place to take family or elders to try,
but if you bring someone extremely picky,
who believes dining out should involve getting full
or who places a lot of emphasis on value,
you may want to reconsider bringing them.
They could end up complaining about the small portions!
⭐️ Location
As previously mentioned, this restaurant is on the upper floor of Breeze Xinyi,
making it very convenient in terms of access.
Whether you take the MRT or a bus, both options are easy.
Getting off the MRT and walking up is a breeze!
There’s also a bus stop right outside—
or if you need to drive, there are parking lots in the vicinity!
Given its location in Xinyi,
it makes it easy to plan a day out,
doing some shopping nearby before dining.
Once it's mealtime, it’ll be a seamless transition to the restaurant.
Thus, I find the location quite excellent!
⭐️ Overall
In summary,
it’s clear why this restaurant has earned a Michelin star,
as its dishes are remarkably fine,
both in appearance and flavor.
I recommend coming here to taste the exquisite preparations.
Moreover, the overall environment doesn’t seem to have major flaws.
Although weekend dining times can get crowded,
the staff manages flow well,
so you won’t likely experience discomfort.
Plus, for a Michelin, securing a reservation isn’t difficult at all,
so for those looking to experience their first Michelin dining,
this might be a great starting point!
🤪 Dickson's Mouth-Watering Zone 🤪
Want to take your date to a Michelin restaurant?
This place seems perfect for beginners exploring Michelin cuisine!
After all, many Michelin spots are incredibly pricey,
and on top of that, they may be hard to book.
Not to mention, this one is conveniently located in Xinyi!
It's perfect for taking your date here after exploring the Xinyi area.
Here’s a simple itinerary to consider:
First, obviously, book tickets for a movie at the nearby Vieshow,
perhaps catch a great film at the Titan theater.
By then, it’ll likely be afternoon.
Next, you could stroll around the department stores in the Xinyi region,
maybe stop for some ice cream at Nan Shan or something similar.
As evening approaches,
you’ll be ready to try this Michelin restaurant!

it sounds pretty impressive!
After finishing your meal here quickly,

perfect for quickly fostering relationships with your date! 😍😍😍😍
Taiwan has a wide variety of exotic cuisines, and for those who don’t have the time to travel abroad or for other reasons cannot taste authentic foreign flavors, exotic food is a great choice to satisfy cravings. But have you ever thought about fusion cuisine? In Kaohsiung, there’s a restaurant whose owner is a genuine Korean, who innovatively merges Korean and Italian dishes, making the usually common offerings much more unique…🤔
✅ Garlic Butter Salty Sauce Fried Chicken: The fried chicken is filled with salty flavors, with the chicken first fried and then coated in sauce. The outer skin doesn't become as soft as expected, but rather retains its crispiness, making it sweet and crunchy with each bite. Additionally, there are fried potato slices below, which have a great texture and remain crispy and delicious even when cold.
✅ Hamburger Steak Rice (318 NTD): The hamburger patty is made from beef and cheese, and its eye-catching appearance is also a popular Instagram food. Paired with red wine sauce, sesame leaves, cherry tomatoes, and a runny egg, it offers a rich depth of flavor. The sauce is mild and slightly sour, pairing cleverly with the sesame leaves. Cutting into the juicy hamburger reveals a rich gooey cheese inside, allowing each bite to deliver a perfect blend of flavors and textures. This dish is a favorite for many and is highly recommended.
✅ Korean Spicy Sauce Squid and Scallop Pasta: This dish stir-fries squid, scallops, zucchini, tomatoes, and onions with Korean spicy sauce, perfectly blending the spiciness of Korean spices with the sweet freshness of seafood. The noodle retains some texture, enhancing the overall taste and complexity.
✅ Peach Iced Tea: Full of the refreshing scent of peaches, not overly sweet, and very smooth to drink.
✅ Grapefruit Apple Sparkling Water: Made with grapefruit apple sauce mixed with sparkling water, the bubbles dance on the tongue, bringing a refreshing sensation.
✅ Korean Cheese Steamed Egg: A must-try signature item in the restaurant. The first bite offers a thick, creamy egg flavor, complemented by rich cheese that provides a delightful dual aroma and texture. Topped with a sprinkle of fish roe, it adds more vibrancy to the color.
Both the Korean and Italian dishes in this restaurant are delicious, reflecting the owner’s commitment and attention to flavor. The most recommended dish is the “Hamburger Steak Rice,” which has a very rich taste profile, enhanced by the use of mixed vinegar for a refreshing touch. The dining environment is also excellent, with enough space between tables to ensure a comfortable experience. Additionally, this restaurant does not charge a service fee! Therefore, you need to serve your own water and get your utensils.
*Public holidays as announced on the official website
*Join the membership to accumulate points: spend 500 NTD to save 5 NTD; accumulate 1000 points for 10 NTD off (only available at the Kaohsiung location).
Century Egg and Minced Pork Spicy Noodles - 75 TWD
Although it’s a dumpling restaurant, I came to try the century egg noodles.
👍 Pros: The century egg is very generous, and there are a lot of scallions (you can choose not to add scallions). I don't usually like spicy food, so I chose to skip the spice.
🥹 Personal critique: The noodles are chewy white noodles; those who like a stronger noodle texture will probably enjoy it more (my dining companion said it was delicious).
Cabbage and Garlic Chive Fresh Pork Dumplings (10 pieces) - 80 TWD
👍 Pros: They are very juicy inside (but not the kind that explodes with thick broth), already seasoned, and those who prefer lighter flavors might not need any sauce, while my more seasoned friends thought adding chili would be good.
🥹 Personal critique: The dumpling skin is a bit soft and not chewy.
Signature Potstickers (10 pieces) - 80 TWD
👍 Pros: The exterior is pan-fried to a crispy golden brown, and the seasoning is a bit stronger than the dumplings, so those who like bold flavors can add sauce and chili on the side.
🥹 Personal critique: They are slightly smaller than those from chain stores.
Drinks: Black Tea - 25 TWD, Soy Milk Black Tea - 35 TWD
Standard drinks, taken from the fridge in sealed packages.
✔️ The location is in the alley off Wenlin Road, at No. 50.
✔️ You can order by scanning the QR code on the table, and pay directly with Line Pay or at the counter.
✔️ They offer delivery, but each item is 10-20 TWD more expensive for delivery, so I decided to dine in.
✔️ I went for a meal between 4:00 and 5:00 PM; there were about 3 groups of customers; after 5:00 PM, many more people came in (there’s a whole row of individual seating along the side wall, so you shouldn't worry about finding a seat).
✔️ Compared to traditional dumpling places, it’s a bit pricier, but the selection is diverse and rich, including fried items, soup dumplings, soups, and side dishes. I will definitely visit again.
This visit to Yu's Room was my first, and it was also to reunite with a long-lost friend. We decided to try what is said to be the best chocolate French dessert in Taipei, hoping to create some unforgettable memories.
The shop's interior doesn't have many seats, and the dessert counter takes center stage. I think these exquisite desserts are primarily intended for takeout as gifts; there is a 10% service fee for dining in, and you settle the bill only when leaving. After selecting at the counter, you simply tell the staff which dessert you'd like to enjoy. You can also order drinks while seated, and they will continually come to refill your water.
The desserts at Yu's Room are beautifully crafted, and there are quite a few options. It took us quite a while to choose two desserts.
The first one is Passionfruit. The staff recommended we enjoy this one first (because the next dessert is heavier and sweeter). Its elongated, multi-layered structure is packed with a variety of flavors. With the first bite, the sweet and sour taste mingles with the aroma of ginger and brandy; the texture is initially refreshing, leading to the fruity sweetness of chocolate, and it finishes with a hint of spiciness—pure happiness.
The second dessert is Yu's Room's classic creation: the round and delicate Shibusa. This dessert is made from various types of cocoa with different tonalities, and you can tell from its appearance that the texture will be slightly rich. Sure enough, despite the large amount of chocolate mousse inside, the flavor remains deep and intense, and each bite necessitates a big sip of tea to catch your breath. That said, this rich chocolate is indeed a signature item, providing us with a profound experience in both appearance and taste.
Besides desserts, consider ordering a drink. If you wish to alleviate the sweetness while eating chocolate, a cup of tea is definitely a good choice. We ordered a cold brew oolong tea, which allowed us to continue enjoying the desserts—what a lifesaver!
If you're a chocolate lover to the core, you might also want to try a chocolate drink. We ordered a summer limited edition drink called "Choco Summer," which is delicate and sweet; just be careful not to pair it with a heavy dessert, as it might ruin your taste buds.
For those wanting to see the dine-in menu, you can check further at: https://www.yuchocolatier.com.tw/pages/yu-chocolatier-menu
📷 Summer All Open
Located in the Guomao community, the old photo studio combines a dessert shop. Initially, it was simply a photo studio, but later it transformed into a place that also serves desserts. The dark wooden decor has a retro vibe. Besides taking photos and enjoying desserts, they also sell film and provide developing services. I have been there several times; the owner is very nice and even helps check the cameras. 👍🏻
On a hot summer afternoon, we ordered:
🍹 Wanglai Qingguo Sparkling Water $110
It's refreshing, not overly sweet or sour, with a pineapple aroma. It’s balanced with a slight bitterness from orange peel, a bit of sliced green grape flesh, and just the right amount of bubbles with enough ice. It’s perfect for cooling off in the heat.
🍹 Earl Grey Milk Tea (Latte) $120
There isn’t a heavy spiced flavor; it has a smooth, natural taste. The tea and milk flavors are perfectly balanced. The sweetness is consistent, not overly sweet or bland.
Desserts:
🍰 Tieguanyin Double Peach Chiffon Cake $175
It should be peach and cherry (not entirely sure). It pairs well with the rich tea flavor of Tieguanyin chiffon cake. The cake is moist and not dry or hard, with just the right texture. The whipped cream is perfectly proportioned and very refreshing.
🍰 Kiwi Chiffon Cake $165
The reviews are just as excellent as the cake above. The kiwis are golden and not sour at all. Overall, it has a perfect balance. You get to enjoy the dessert without feeling burdened.
Overall, I would give it a high score. 👍🏻
One aspect is that the ambiance and style are crafted wonderfully! Entering this retro, tranquil world makes it very suitable for afternoon tea and relaxation. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
📷 Little Note: There’s a minimum spend of one drink per person. There are no self-service tea, water, or napkins as minor downsides.
I want to emphasize that the following photos have no filters!
🔆 The lighting and illumination are great; they were taken directly, showing the real thing!
This is honestly a haven for a filter rookie like me! 😆
(I was so excited after taking the photos that I really felt the need to mention it.)
Back to the point, this place is a shop I've watched grow up 🥹
I remember when it was in this (what I think is) not-so-great location, and now it has gradually transformed into an Instagram-worthy brunch/café, even expanding to become a chain. There are tons of blog recommendations, and even though I'm not the shop owner, I feel so pleased watching it thrive. 🤣
I still remember when I first visited, the shop was spacious with plenty of available seating.
Now it’s reached a level where people are queuing for tables and it even has machines to draw number tickets; it has truly experienced significant growth! 📈
‼️ But! The most amazing thing is! ‼️
💰 The prices have not increased! Prices have not increased! They haven't gone up!
In recent years, prices for many things have gone up; although the menu has seen gradual adjustments and changes, the pricing has remained at the same level!
My friend and I ordered two brunches and a bowl of salad,
and it only cost us $674 in total, just about $500 per person!
Of course, we chose the more economical options; if we selected some set meals or main dishes, it might cost over $300, but honestly, most items are under $300!
🤔 Will such a good deal mean smaller portions?
We finished brunch around 11 AM, spent a couple of hours chatting before dinner at 7 PM.👌
If you have a big appetite, you might get hungry, but for us, with normal appetites, it felt like the portions were about the same as at any regular restaurant.
And then there’s one more point to mention ☝🏻
Since we came for brunch, we didn’t order any desserts,
but each of their desserts looks delicious 🥹
I’ve had their pancakes and cinnamon rolls before, and I remember they tasted amazing. Unfortunately, I had to enjoy them with my eyes this time, but I was still satisfied 🥹
(I’ll just keep the dessert photos for myself; Fooday only allows 20 photos 🥹)
Aside from how impressive the prices are,
I want to mention one more incredible thing 😎
👉 Even with so many people, this café’s vibe is meant for long stays, working, and gatherings with friends.
‼️ So, there's WiFi, power outlets, and no time limit! ‼️
It seems to be the same on weekends (at least when I visit on weekends, I’ve never been rushed because of a time limit).
However, I must say, after gaining popularity, the crowds can be overwhelming.
Some seats are really just small tables for coffee,
and the spacing can be quite close, making it easier to be disturbed.
With so many people, it gets noisy, so it’s not very suitable for a long stay.
But on weekdays, many people genuinely come to read, work, or relax 😎; the atmosphere is quite different. Some people stay from opening until close,
enjoying a bit of white noise and some chatter,
sipping coffee while working, reading, or engaged in calm activities—
that’s really when you should come!
(Am I revealing too many secrets? 🤣)
Although I was initially introduced by friends,
this place is one of my top hidden gems 🥹
Just wanted to share it with everyone 🫶
👇 Next are some exciting, unedited, and unfiltered photos of the actual dishes!
🍖 Restaurant Name: Niconico Yakiniku Champion BBQ

▫️ Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday 16:30-24:00
▫️ Service Charge: 10% service charge
▪️ Restaurant Environment and Atmosphere:
The overall environment is good and there is not a strong smell of grease, but the lighting is quite dim, making it hard to tell if the meat is cooked; you have to look very closely to see it.
The staff do not wear uniforms, but you can still recognize if they are servers. However, their enthusiasm for service is relatively low; they rarely ask if you want to change the grill, and they only come to ask if you'd like to change it when the grill is almost fully burnt. 😅 Nonetheless, their attitude is quite good, so it isn’t a big concern. 👌🏻
▪️ Ordering and Payment Method:
📝 Ordering is done with the staff.
💰 Only cash payments are accepted.

The owner seemed to be in a good mood and gave us a plate of king oyster mushrooms. 😂
💡 Meal: 4 | Service: 3 | Atmosphere: 3 | Environment: 4
🌟 Dining Date: 2024.08.25
🌟 Atmosphere and Service:
Although it’s an ordinary traditional snack shop, the environment is clean and tidy, the air conditioning is cool, and the space inside is quite spacious, so you won’t feel cramped. The owner has a very friendly attitude; if you call ahead to order, they will cover the dumplings to keep them warm, so when you sit down, you can eat hot dumplings right away. It's really thoughtful!
🌟 Dish Selection and Experience:
This time, I ordered large wonton soup and 40 dumplings with my family. Their dumplings are filled with chopped cabbage and meat and have a thicker skin; they are also smaller in size. Generally, if you eat 10 dumplings outside, you would probably need to eat about 12 here. But they are really delicious and a must-try every time I return from other counties! The wonton soup is quite tasty as well, with a lot of celery and their own meat sauce seasoning, which is not too salty and very refreshing! Additionally, I recommend their dry noodles, which my family always orders. They say it has a classic flavor that brings back memories!
(As far as I know, their dumplings can only be ordered in increments of five or ten, so everyone can consider how many to order.)
🌟 Price and Value for Money:
I personally think their meal prices are quite reasonable. A meal costs just over 100, and you can get full with this price, as it includes staple food and soup. If you have friends or family to share a large bowl of soup with, it’s even more economical!
🌟 Summary and Suggestions:
Overall, the experience was quite good. It’s a great choice when you want to eat snacks. Most importantly, the shop is really cool; there are air conditioning and many electric fans, making it completely non-stuffy in summer, which is very friendly for guests like me who are heat-sensitive. It’s suitable for the general public or students looking for an inexpensive, quick meal. I highly recommend everyone come and try it out!
I am Yang, and I love to take casual photos while eating!
"There's a newly opened Vietnamese rice noodle shop in Fengjia, and you must try their soul garlic vinegar!"
My top choice for rice noodles! 😍 (Feel free to recommend more rice noodle places in Taichung to me! 😋)
😍 If you order rice noodles before 8/31, you get a free fried dough stick!
🔺 Environment
The shop is a bit narrow and there aren’t many seats.
The restroom is quite clean!
The staff has a great attitude, and they keep saying thank you when you leave. 😊
There are various condiments and utensils available on the table, but the two-person tables only have utensils and garlic vinegar, while the four-person tables have more condiments and paper towels.
🔺 Food
❣️ Beef tendon + raw beef rice noodles 💰140 (Get a free fried dough stick if you order before 8/31)
Before adding condiments, the soup was already flavorful. I added lemon and several spoonfuls of garlic vinegar.
The garlic vinegar is a must! It adds a slight garlicky flavor and a different kind of acidity, adding another layer of complexity!
Both the beef and beef tendon were very tender, and the portion was quite generous.
The overall portion was enough; I almost couldn't finish it.
The only downside is that their rice noodles are a little thin and feel a bit soft.
The owner suggested pairing the fried dough sticks with the soup, but I didn't think it matched very well. 😅
🤗 Summary
Although the price is a bit high, the value for money is sufficient.
The taste is truly fantastic, and you absolutely have to add the soul garlic vinegar!!
You don’t need to order the fried dough sticks~
I will definitely visit again!
🌟 It's recommended to make a reservation, with a high price point (about 2500 per person).
🌟 There are dedicated servers, so you don’t have to grill your own meat.
Shabu Shabu Tandane was founded by three friends who previously worked in well-known chain restaurant groups, pooling their resources to create "One Meat, One Craft, One Sauce." This is the main selling point of the boutique yakiniku restaurant "Shabu Shabu Tandane" in Taipei, where the menu features a variety of cuts from Japanese, Australian, and American wagyu beef. The chef customizes the cutting based on the different characteristics of each cut, producing five thicknesses: cube, thick cut, belly, sashimi, and thin cut. Through different cutting techniques and sauces, the best texture and flavor of the beef are showcased, embodying the spirit of "knife skills are culinary skills."
The dining model at Shabu Shabu Tandane is primarily à la carte, with a set menu priced at 2380 per person. If you have trouble deciding, you can try the set menu because the culinary professionals on-site will first understand your personal preferences and dining habits to arrange the dishes or help you with combinations. You don’t have to grill yourself, and the service is really good, hence the price is not cheap.
The menu includes appetizers, salads, raw beef, meat sushi, daily limited supply (priced by grams), Japanese wagyu, Australian wagyu, pork, chicken, seafood, offal, vegetables, main courses, and desserts. Of course, we can’t forget the beer options that pair perfectly with grilled meat!
The entrance to the restaurant looks small, but the interior space is quite large, featuring private rooms, a bar area, and dining tables. The environment is bright, clean, and tidy, making it suitable for personal dining, dates for two, or larger gatherings.
We had a large group; we could provide them with a budget or meal preferences, and the dishes were arranged for us. Then we could decide what to keep or modify. Some dishes are served individually while others are for sharing, with an overall price around 2500 per person, so you might want to reference the serving sizes.
