My friend particularly loves to drink beer🍺, so I specifically found this local brewery for him. Their specialty is that they have many of their own brewed beers, and there are also many seasonal limited editions, so the beers available this time may not be available next time!
I made a reservation before going to the store, and upon arrival, I could imagine that if it were a holiday with many people, the store would be full of customers. Even during our visit on a weekday, there were quite a few diners! As soon as I entered the venue, I could feel the enthusiasm of the bartender at the bar. Although his English isn't particularly good, he patiently explained everything to us and did his best to communicate using the vocabulary he could manage, allowing us to understand the various craft beers!
Since we wanted to try every flavor, we ordered
❤️ Beer flight
which means you can choose from nine types of beer on the menu🍻 for tasting. Each beer would be served in smaller portions. In the end, they even gifted us a beer that we hadn’t ordered! So altogether, we had 10 small beers on the flight! Even though there were 10 smaller beers, the total amount was still quite a lot. Neither of us was able to finish all of them because when we saw the beer flight, we had already ordered a larger beer. So we couldn't finish every small glass, and we also saw local customers who could order even smaller glasses of beer🍺—perhaps next time, those who visit can inquire about that!
Overall, the flavors of the beers could be clearly distinguished, and the gentleman at the counter suggested a tasting order that allowed us to taste the beers from light to strong, letting the aroma of each beer be savored gradually! I believe beer lovers would be extremely happy here.
Additionally, we ordered some food, including
❤️ Sausages and fried chicken🍗.
I highly recommend their German sausages; not only do they offer flavor choices, but the tastes they described were very rich and flavorful. Both of us found ourselves competing to eat them! It's rare to find such special and delicious German sausages!
The fried chicken was also quite recommended; the skin was crispy and delicious, while the chicken meat🍗 inside was very tender! The marinade flavor was just right, making it a fantastic pairing with the beer!
Overall, I feel that aside from being a bit off the beaten path, there are no other drawbacks to mention. Anyone who loves beer would surely enjoy it, and even if you don’t drink beer often, you can choose lighter beers to taste! Even if you really don't drink beer🍺, I think the other food at the restaurant is also very good! I recommend it to those nearby!
Green River Roastery
A chic coffee shop, although there is a bus stop nearby, the location is not very convenient.
I came here with friends to chat and relax. There doesn’t seem to be a specific time limit, so it’s probably true that there is no time restriction! I plan to read and use my laptop here, but if I want to borrow a power outlet, I need to inform the staff that I can’t use it without permission. The staff said that there is no limit on how much to donate to the donation box for the stray dogs, so it’s actually a nice way to do some charity work; in addition, it’s user-funded!
To enter the shop, you have to climb to the second floor. After ordering, you can choose to sit on the second or first floor, then walk down the spiral staircase. The space isn’t cramped—it’s comfortable, and the chairs are wooden.
Now that I've talked so much, I should mention the food!
✅ Fresh Cheesecake 💰 180 + Handmade Pudding 💰 70
The pudding is an extra purchase; they go well together. The pudding is quite dense with a slight bitterness (the flavor of caramel pudding). I think the cheesecake isn’t too sweet, so the pudding adds a nice touch!
✅ Avocado Croissant 🥑🥐 💰 250
It seems to be seasoned with natural flavors; I can’t taste much mayonnaise. It feels like the seasoning is just sea salt and black pepper, making it taste very natural. If you like whole foods, you’ll probably enjoy it. However, if you prefer stronger flavors, it might seem a bit bland. I think it presents beautifully right when it arrives at the table—the croissant gleams and makes you hungry just by looking at it!
✅ Kumquat Americano 💰 180
I’m not someone who enjoys black coffee, but because it has kumquat, the taste is sweet and fragrant, which I find acceptable. However, my friend was a bit disappointed because the staff didn’t ask whether he wanted it iced or hot when he ordered. (This doesn’t affect whether I will come again—the staff is friendly.)
✅ Aomori Apple Juice 🍎 💰 150
Aomori apple juice is so famous that I ended up skipping other drinks!
I wanted to share all of this with you all!

My friend and I spontaneously wanted to get coffee, and a while ago I saw a recommendation for this place. My friend had been here before and thought it was nice, so we decided to give it a try. Here are the dishes we had that day.
▪️Mimizu Tiramisu (with alcohol) $180
So delicious!! Overall, it's very smooth and features the authentic ladyfingers. I had been eating too many strange variations lately, but this one had a nice hint of alcohol without being too overpowering, which I really liked (I’m not a fan of strong alcohol flavors). Initially, we only ordered one, but we ended up ordering another.
▪️Blueberry Earl Grey Chiffon $170 (add strawberries +$30)
This chiffon cake is tasty, and the whipped cream on top is nice too. However, compared to the tiramisu, it’s a bit less exciting. The Earl Grey flavor in the chiffon is decent (I’m not a big fan of Earl Grey). My friend loves strawberries, so we added them, and the presentation is quite cute.
▪️Japanese Egg Salad Croissant $160
I love egg salad, but I had already eaten lunch that day, so this was what my friend ordered. I took a bite and thought it was pretty cool; the egg salad has a somewhat mashed texture. It has small bits of egg white, but not too many, and the flavor is nice. The highlight is the croissant, which is incredibly delicious—so good that I wanted to ask where it’s sourced from 😂—it’s both flaky and aromatic.
▪️Tiramisu Latte I $180
*Sweetness and ice cannot be adjusted
It looked cool, so I ordered it with my friend (who had tried it before). It comes in a tall glass, and you need to stir it before drinking. It’s a latte combined with mascarpone coffee, which is quite unique. However, if you order dessert, drinking this might feel a bit heavy overall (after all, we ordered two tiramisus 😆). But it’s still pretty good.
▪️Taiwanese Honey Oolong Tea H $180
(add fresh milk to make it milk tea +$20)
This was ordered by my friend, and the oolong tea is really fragrant! It has a tea-forward flavor, and the fresh milk is a bit milder.
Overall, this place has a comfortable atmosphere and an outdoor area. I heard it’s very atmospheric in the evening. My friend said next time, we hope to sit by the window on tatami mats, as it’d be beautiful with sunlight. I’d want to come back for the tiramisu and croissant!
·No reservations / Full seating for a limited time of 1.5 hours / Japanese-style seating requires wearing socks.
Yushan Ramen is hidden in an alley on Section 1 of Daan Road, about a ten-minute walk from both Zhongxiao Fuxing and Daan MRT stations. The nearest landmark is the famous Ren’ai Hospital.
Today, I enjoyed two bowls of the ultimate duck Jiro, adding green onions, homemade braised bamboo shoots, and soy sauce braised duck leg, totaling 900 TWD.
Ultimate Duck Jiro:
This bowl is a perfect combination of visual appeal and portion size. The broth features a lot of garlic and back fat, smooth and rich without being greasy, with delicate duck fat bubbles floating on the surface, leaving a slight stickiness on the lips after drinking. Of course, it's best enjoyed hot; it can become quite heavy as it cools.
The ramen uses 360 grams of medium-thick noodles, which are hard and salty, similar to Japanese-style noodles. The noodles are coarse, with a good chew and a noticeable wheat aroma.
The meat selection is extravagant, featuring sous-vide pork chashu, soy-braised pork chashu, duck chashu, and chicken chashu, each with a distinct characteristic. The sous-vide pork chashu is tender and delicate, while the skin-on duck chashu has a strong duck flavor. The yolk of the onsen egg is perfectly jelly-like, with a hint of sweetness in its eggy flavor, moist and delicious.
The black pepper garlic vegetables weigh a staggering 400 grams, making the whole bowl (excluding broth and meat) exceed one jin (600 grams). If you don't have a strong stomach, you might want to think twice before tackling this. However, for those who want to experience a Jiro-style garlic flavor and back fat but have a lighter appetite, there is also the smaller Yushan Little Jiro to try.
Green onions:
Adding green onions gives the broth a refreshing touch, and for just 30 TWD, it's quite affordable.
Homemade braised bamboo shoots:
The bamboo shoots are cut rather thickly, maintaining their crispiness without being rough, and are well-marinated without being overly salty.
Soy sauce braised duck leg:
The skin has a deep color from the sauce, while the duck meat inside is fine and juicy, with a flavorful but not overly salty braising sauce. This flavor would make me buy a duck leg bento box if it was offered.
The spicy bean sprouts on the table are available for self-service, mildly spicy and crunchy, making for a nice appetizing addition.
Overall, this is a specialized duck ramen shop. The Duck Jiro is presumably available every weekend until the end of April, but even after the Jiro is no longer served, the other duck dishes are definitely worth trying.
The dining space is not large, so it's advisable to avoid peak dining hours. The small courtyard design at the entrance is great for taking photos.
Highly recommended for everyone!
"The Harbor City Tea House" is located on the third floor of the Hanh Pin Hotel in Kaohsiung, specializing in Hong Kong-style dim sum and is one of the most popular restaurants in Kaohsiung. 🤩🤩
They offer traditional Hong Kong-style snacks, primarily served with a pushcart service and online ordering, allowing patrons to enjoy freshly made delicate bites in a relaxed atmosphere.
Owing to its excellent quality and reputation, it's quite difficult to find available seating, and the restaurant is almost always full. 😭 If you want to reserve a spot, it typically needs to be done over a month in advance. For those waiting in line, the restaurant also opens up remaining seats, distributing number tickets at 10:30 AM, with official seating starting at 11:00 AM. Although waiting might require a bit of patience, it’s definitely worth a try. 👏

Today, we came as a group of four and opted for a set meal for three, with the following dishes:
📌 Roast Duck
(It was so delicious that I forgot to take a picture before it disappeared.)
The roast duck had a crispy, golden skin, and upon taking a bite, the aroma was overwhelming; the meat was tender and smooth with a slight smoky flavor, enhanced further by a special sauce. This dish is not only visually appealing but also has an exceptional taste, making it a must-try classic.
📌 Crab Roe Chicken Tofu Pot
The umami from the crab roe paired with the tenderness of the chicken, with a rich and deep sauce, and the tofu absorbing all the essence of the broth made it smooth and delicious. Each bite is a rich blend of seafood and chicken flavors, so good that you can't stop eating, though… due to the high-quality ingredients, you will encounter quite a bit of crab shells. 😭
📌 Steamed Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce
You have to eat it while it's hot! The chicken feet are stewed until soft and flavorful, with the sweet and sour black bean sauce melding beautifully with the fragrant chicken feet. This dish may be a small appetizer, but it packs a big flavor and is full of traditional Hong Kong taste that lingers in your mouth.
📌 Fresh Shrimp Dumplings
The skin of the shrimp dumplings is thin and elastic, while the filling is packed with fresh shrimp. This dim sum features a refreshing and chewy texture that is simple yet delicious.
📌 Shrimp Rice Rolls
The skin of the rice rolls is thin and smooth, and the shrimp is large and tender, rich without being greasy. This dish has a variety of fillings, and each bite delivers the fresh flavor of the shrimp paired with the smoothness of the rice noodles. Whether eaten alone or with sauce, it is an excellent appetizer.
📌 Shrimp Siu Mai
The siu mai's filling is substantial and tasty, combining shrimp and pork for a rich texture. The skin is perfectly steamed – soft but not sticky – and the flavor is just right, not overly salty. This small dish, while seemingly simple, demonstrates high standards in ingredients and cooking techniques.
📌 Fried Chives Spring Rolls
The fried chives spring rolls have a golden and crispy exterior, and the filling of chives and vegetables is perfectly balanced, making it very refreshing. Whether eaten alone or as an appetizer, this small dish is delightful. The crispy texture invites you to take one bite after another, providing great satisfaction.
📌 Milk Char Siu Puff
The milk char siu puff has a flaky, crispy exterior and is filled with sweet char siu filling, emitting delicious scents of milk and char siu in every bite. This dim sum is light yet satisfying, with a savory sweetness that brings the traditional Hong Kong flavors to the forefront with just one.
📌 Taro Sago Dessert
The taro sago is incredibly thick, with chewy sago paired with the sweet aroma of taro, the broth rich yet not overly sweet. This dessert is light and tasty, providing a perfect, warming conclusion to this great meal.
📌 Overall Experience
This dining experience at Harbor City Tea House was very satisfying. If you encounter younger servers who may struggle with Chinese, please give them a little more time to allow foreign interns to practice.
Regarding the food, each dim sum was meticulously crafted, from the crispy skin of the roast duck to the delightful flavors of various classic snacks, they were satisfying. The only downside was that the table was too small; the dishes came out quickly but were large, so we had to squeeze them together. For someone like me, who easily spills drinks, having such a small table for dim sum was definitely a recipe for disaster. 😭
However, everything else was very satisfactory! Whether you want to gather with family or have a small meet-up with friends, Harbor City Tea House is definitely a place worth trying, where you can savor authentic Hong Kong flavors.
[Taipei Zhongshan] Yugan Teppanyaki
To me, a wonderful dining experience comes from a feast for the senses of taste and sight. On special occasions, come and enjoy the charm of omakase kaiseki cuisine. This teppanyaki restaurant offers exquisite dishes that are also satisfying.
Upon entering the restaurant, you are immediately greeted by impressive live seafood—lively Australian lobsters and enormous South African abalone! Not only seafood, but the meats are selected from Japan’s A5 Wagyu. (Basically, if I have these three items, I'm already very satisfied ❤️)
On that day, I tasted 16 dishes. During the meal, I chatted with the chef and learned about the details he pays attention to in seasoning. Due to the quality of the ingredients, there's no need for excessive seasoning; he hopes to let customers savor the fresh sweetness of the food itself. Each dish was presented beautifully after the chef’s meticulous preparation. Great ingredients, honest portions, ample servings, and excellent service.

◽ Omakase Cuisine ✨ $1,800 per person
(The menu is for reference; the ingredients may vary slightly on the day.)
"Fresh Shrimp Salad"
Dressed with a Japanese-style sauce, it comes with whole fresh shrimp, seasonal vegetables, and fresh fruits.
"Steamed Cod Crab Egg Custard ✨"
You can find cod crab meat in the silky steamed egg, with a rare addition of Japanese sakura gluten, which adds some color when served.
"Gold Leaf Ibérico Pork Pie"
Made with Ibérico pork, the filling has a firm texture, finished with gold leaf for a delightful presentation. After cooking it on the table, it can be quite hot! Although the staff reminded us to be careful while eating, I still got a surprise from the chewy pie crust QQ.
"Lychee Vinegar" A small cup of vinegar is served after the pie to clear the palate.
"Pan-Seared Hiroshima Oysters ✨"
Wrapped in seaweed for eating, these oysters are not only sweet but also juicy! The outer layer is coated with imported Japanese flour, making it crispy like rice cakes, allowing you to really appreciate the layers of flavor and texture—a thoughtfully crafted dish.
"A5 Wagyu Roll with Poblano Peppers ✨"
Due to the marbling, the chef specially rolled in poblano peppers for balance and to enhance flavor—becoming more aromatic as you chew. The peppers aren't overly spicy; the flower grace poblano from Hualien has a distinct flavor, providing a slight heat at the end, along with a hint of sweetness. Plus, the Wagyu is served in generous slices!
"Pan-Seared Chicken Thigh ✨"
This dish was unexpectedly delightful and made me sing its praises. Because I'm sensitive to the fishy taste of chicken, I usually detect the flavor from marinating in alcohol if the quality is not good. However, Yugan’s chicken thigh instead brings out the natural sweetness of the chicken, complemented by the aroma from the pan-searing. Lightly garnished with pesto and served with fresh kumquats, adding richness to the flavor.
"Hokkaido Pan-Seared Scallops ✨"
Using sashimi-grade scallops paired with fresh zucchini—the combination is loved by everyone, right? The addition of caviar makes this dish even more exquisite. The scallops are seared until slightly brown, maintaining a tender and juicy texture without being too soft.
"South African Live Abalone with Seaweed Sauce ✨"
This dish made me reluctant to swallow. 🥹 Made with the large, fresh South African live abalone I saw upon entering, it's thoughtfully cut in half for easy eating, drizzled with a smooth seaweed sauce. The abalone has a bouncy texture that doesn’t tear easily, and with no extra salt added, you taste the sea flavor of the abalone itself, paired with loofah, intensifying the sweetness as you eat... leaving you wanting more.
"Japanese Buri Fish Cheek with Yuzu Fragrant Daikon"
Not as oily as regular fish cheeks, it instead offers thick and tender fish meat, perfectly pan-seared with no fishy smell, more fragrant when dipped in pepper salt! Accompanied by crisp white radishes with yuzu fragrance.
"Emperor Conch ✨"
A must-capture presentation! The entire emperor conch makes a grand entrance from the dry ice fog, easily extracted with a beautiful fork. The conch meat is chewy, seasoned only with a bit of teriyaki sauce, avoiding any unappealing earthy taste.
"Australian Lobster Roe Kuzu Noodles ✨"
Using live Australian lobster as the main ingredient, drizzled with butter for added flavor, the meat has a natural saltiness; it's currently the most bouncy lobster I've had with balanced salt taste. The bowl is laid with Japanese kuzunoodles simmered in lobster roe sauce, along with stir-fried seasonal vegetables, perfectly seasoned.
"Japanese A5 Wagyu with Garlic Mousse ✨"
Cut into chunks, I initially thought the Wagyu would be greasy, but to my surprise, you can really taste the meat. The cooking time was perfectly controlled; the surface is nicely charred without being too dry or hard. Each bite releases the aroma of the fat. It’s paired with Brussels sprouts, and it’s suggested to first taste the Wagyu on its own before adding the garlicky smooth mousse; this combination won’t disappoint.
"Wagyu Fried Rice ✨"
Directly cooked on the table, the Wagyu tendons are fried until crispy, while the egg gives the fried rice a golden hue. A touch of soy sauce is added for flavor, making it varied and just the right texture—neither dry nor greasy. After all the preceding dishes already filled me up, actually, another bowl of this made me really full! 🤣
"Lobster Miso Soup"
I didn't expect the soup to be so high-end, with lobster meat inside! Compared to the dishes above, the miso soup is on the saltier side.
"Waru Mochi"
No Japanese dessert is complete without waru mochi; it's elastic, easy to slice, and not overly sweet. Perfect as a snack after a hearty meal.👌
"Tea" Each table receives a cup of hot tea, allowing you to cleanse your palate between dishes, and the staff attentively checks and refills as needed.
Feel free to like, comment, and share 🫶🏻 Let’s explore food and fun together!
Every time I passed by, there was a long line, so I didn’t have many opportunities to enter, but I finally went there with great anticipation! I visited around 8 PM on a weekday, and there was still a line, but there were many customers taking out, so I was able to sit at an outside table in about 15 minutes✌️
【Atmosphere of the Store】
The exterior has a nice retro feel of Taiwan! The sign that says “This is Haruki, casting magic with burnt garlic” is so amusing 😂
There are seats both inside and outside, and when it's full, you may be asked to share a table.
【Food Evaluation】
Five-Spice Pork Belly Rice ★★★★★
The pork belly melts in your mouth! It looks simple, but the taste is surprisingly delicious! The sauce isn’t too strong, making it an excellent rice dish on its own! It seems to be the signature menu item, so I definitely recommend trying it! ✨
Fried Mackerel ★★★★★
Fried Spanish mackerel! It’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! A Taiwanese friend recommended it to me, so I believe it’s a delicious dish acknowledged by locals as well! ✨
Braised Tofu ★★★★
A Taiwanese dish I always order! The sauce has soaked in just right; it’s irresistible!
Blanched Green Vegetables ★★★
This is also a dish I usually order! It adds some color to the otherwise brown menu 🤭 I didn’t feel anything particularly special about it, but it was crunchy and really tasty!
Miso Soup ★★★★
Maybe because it’s surrounded by many oily dishes, it was very delicious! I thought it was a Japanese dish that Japan can proudly present to the world, haha! The miso was sweeter than in Japan, but it had plenty of small tofu pieces, making it filling!
This has become a place I definitely want to revisit when I am in Taiwan! Access is a bit inconvenient, but it’s definitely worth a visit! ⭐️
✔️Service
The staff provided a very detailed introduction to the menu, and the dishes on the blackboard of the day were also explained in detail. The speed of serving the dishes was just right; they didn’t all come out at once!
✔️Food
Top three stunning dishes:
Cheesecake
The flavor of the cheese is very rich! It has the creamy texture of a Basque cheesecake, which is truly a fantastic finish! A must-try! They also helped put candles on the cake for a birthday celebration👍🏻
Spanish Croquettes
Completely different from the usual ones! Small and perfect for a single bite; it’s like drinking seafood chowder when you bite into it. I really loved it! 😻
Fig Salad
The ham lacks an oily aftertaste and pairs really well with the figs and lettuce! It’s a rare salad option found in typical restaurants, and I highly recommend trying it!
Shrimp Paste Baby Squid
Fried just right, and dipping it in rich shrimp paste makes for a great appetizer!
Garlic Shrimp with Olive Oil
A classic and common dish; I like the bread sliced thinly like crackers (though my friend prefers bread with some thickness for better chewiness 😅).
Spanish Veal Thymus
Tastes like salty crispy chicken, which is quite unique. Plus, it has a crispy texture on top that adds layers to the dish.
Shrimp Paste Seafood Rice
The scallops are perfectly seared, the shrimp are plump and fresh, and the broth base of the rice is fantastic; it tastes different from typical risottos!
With just the two of us, this was a very filling meal, and we couldn’t finish the seafood rice, so we took it home 😆 Oh, and the classic Spanish fruit wine is also delicious! It’s quite suitable for more people to order multiple dishes! I still have so much more I want to try! 😋
I've been saving up for this place for a super long time! Finally had the chance to go eat here.
(They have braised noodle soup in Sanxia, but I wonder if the taste is the same?)
I'm a wide noodle fan—these noodles are incredibly wide!
And there’s not a single dish that misses the mark—each one is very unique.
The flavors are definitely different from typical noodle shops 😍, totally to my liking, I would give it a perfect score of 💯.
The only downside is that it's too far from me 🫠.
◽ Tomato Egg Wide Noodles (thin/wide) ✨ $130
> The broth is simmered with beef tomatoes, creating a slightly sour and sweet flavor that makes you keep coming back for more! The thickness of the wide noodles is just right—not too thick to have a raw flour taste—and they can absorb some broth so that the flavors of the soup and the noodles blend perfectly.
◽ Shaanxi Spicy Sour Oil Noodles (wide) ✨ $90
> I usually eat mildly spicy, and this bowl is a bit too spicy for me 🤣. The sourness is very pronounced! The sauce is heavily flavored, which is really appetizing; although I don’t usually love spicy food, the taste was so good that I wanted to finish it even while my nose was running 🤧.
◽ Spicy Tofu ✨ $80
> This is really special! I've never seen this combination before. The tender tofu is sliced and covered with a generous amount of spicy oil and seasoned ground meat. It’s not spicy at all, just full of that spicy aroma. The main saltiness comes from the meat on top, and it's super delicious!
◽ Chive Dumplings ✨ $7 each
> I’m a bit picky about dumplings, but their chive seasoning is just right 👌. The skin isn’t too thick nor too thin to fall apart easily, and they’ve mastered the cooking time perfectly 👍🏻. Even my boyfriend said it was great!
◽ Blanched Vegetables ✨ $40
> I thought it would just be blanched vegetables, but they even drizzled some sesame oil over them 👀, adding a nice aroma to the veggies. I really liked it!
In summary, I’m going to miss these noodles 🥲. After finishing, I want to eat them again!

I’ve been saving this no-menu teppanyaki place for a while. From what I’ve seen shared by others, it seemed pretty good. I came here with a friend; it’s a bit of a walk from Longshan Temple and Ximen. Below are the dishes we had that day. Since there’s no menu, I jotted down some keywords based on what the chef suggested.
️▪️Mullet Roe and Radish Roll
It felt like radish cake wrapped in mullet roe. I really like mullet roe, so I thought it was a nice appetizer.
▪️Onion Soup with Focaccia
The flavor of the onion soup🧅 didn’t quite suit my taste; the bread was normal.
▪️Large Shrimp, Purple Cauliflower, Quail Egg, Sweet Potato Mash
The shrimp was delicious, perfectly seared. It was my first time seeing such small soft-boiled eggs, and the sweet potato mash had a not-so-intense flavor.
▪️Salmon, Lemon Molecular Bubbles, Zucchini, Basil Pesto
The bubbles had a very special lemon flavor, and the salmon was perfectly cooked at medium—so tasty! You couldn’t really taste the pesto.
▪️Abalone, Herbal Soup, Loofah, Fried Ginger Strips
This dish had a unique flavor with the herbal soup; the loofah absorbed the broth well and paired nicely with the ginger, while the abalone was soft and chewy.
▪️Apple Tofu Salad, Smoked Salmon, Balsamic Vinegar
I finished this dish before I remembered to take a photo! It had a refreshing taste, and the texture of the tofu with the apple was really cool, especially combined with the salmon.
▪️Rice Noodle, Scallop, Scallion Butter (additional +NT$250)
This was an add-on item; the scallops looked quite large, and I couldn't resist adding them! They were deliciously seared! The flavor of the rice noodles was also great.
▪️A5 Wagyu, Hawaiian Black Salt, Garlic, Mustard
The wagyu had an incredibly rich fat content (I personally thought it was a bit too much), but it was truly melt-in-your-mouth. It really needed the accompanying condiments to balance it out, although the two small pieces looked tiny, they were just the right size for a bite. It was my first time seeing Hawaiian black salt, which was pretty cool.
▪️Yilan Cherry Duck Breast, Chestnut Puree, Mushrooms, Red Wine Sauce, Hibiscus
After the wagyu, we immediately had duck breast; it felt like we were having two main courses. The duck breast was tender and delicious! The chestnut puree was sweet, the dried mushrooms smelled great, and the whole hibiscus flower was edible and quite tasty. I loved this dish completely!
▪️Duck Breast Fried Rice
It was very fragrant! In the end, I couldn’t finish it and had to take some home; the chef even gave me the leftovers! 😆
▪️Red Bean and Purple Rice Mochi
The soup wasn’t too sweet, but there weren’t any visible red beans or purple rice; it felt like it was all blended into juice. The mochi was pan-fried, which was quite delicious, and the osmanthus flower was a nice touch. I usually don't like flowers in dishes, but this flavor was quite good.
▪️National Treasure Tea/Black Tea/Coffee (can add milk foam)
I thought I would try the hot black tea with milk foam, but the milk didn’t have the richness I expected. However, the tea was a normal delicious black tea.
Overall, I liked it quite a bit! I had eaten at another place last December that serves fish x; comparing the two, there wasn’t as much variety here, and it wasn’t as refined (the price difference is around NT$800), but I think the flavors of the ingredients are very intuitive and easy to understand. The service was also quite warm; the chef was very lively (I heard the Ximen branch is more lively than the Shida branch). If one isn’t chasing after overly impressive variations, for a no-menu teppanyaki, this place has a pretty high cost-performance ratio. Just for your reference.
💰Starting February 1, 2025, the set meal price adjusts to NT$1,150 +10% per person,
