Braised pork rice features melt-in-your-mouth pork belly and is exquisite. The deep-fried snapper is crispy and fluffy. The stewed tofu has a delicious, juicy sauce. The stir-fried greens are crisp and add color to the dish. The miso soup is on the sweeter side and packed with tofu.
The exterior has a retro feel typical of Taiwan, with seating both inside and outside, allowing for shared tables. The signboard is unique and attractive.
It’s a popular store with long lines, but there are many takeout options, and you can get a seat in about 15 minutes.
Every time I passed by, there was a long line, so I didn’t have many opportunities to enter, but I finally went there with great anticipation! I visited around 8 PM on a weekday, and there was still a line, but there were many customers taking out, so I was able to sit at an outside table in about 15 minutes✌️
【Atmosphere of the Store】
The exterior has a nice retro feel of Taiwan! The sign that says “This is Haruki, casting magic with burnt garlic” is so amusing 😂
There are seats both inside and outside, and when it's full, you may be asked to share a table.
【Food Evaluation】
Five-Spice Pork Belly Rice ★★★★★
The pork belly melts in your mouth! It looks simple, but the taste is surprisingly delicious! The sauce isn’t too strong, making it an excellent rice dish on its own! It seems to be the signature menu item, so I definitely recommend trying it! ✨
Fried Mackerel ★★★★★
Fried Spanish mackerel! It’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! A Taiwanese friend recommended it to me, so I believe it’s a delicious dish acknowledged by locals as well! ✨
Braised Tofu ★★★★
A Taiwanese dish I always order! The sauce has soaked in just right; it’s irresistible!
Blanched Green Vegetables ★★★
This is also a dish I usually order! It adds some color to the otherwise brown menu 🤭 I didn’t feel anything particularly special about it, but it was crunchy and really tasty!
Miso Soup ★★★★
Maybe because it’s surrounded by many oily dishes, it was very delicious! I thought it was a Japanese dish that Japan can proudly present to the world, haha! The miso was sweeter than in Japan, but it had plenty of small tofu pieces, making it filling!
This has become a place I definitely want to revisit when I am in Taiwan! Access is a bit inconvenient, but it’s definitely worth a visit! ⭐️
This is a restaurant I eat on the way to the rehabilitation center. I personally like their salmon belly porridge, which is filled with shredded ginger and shallots to remove the fishy smell. The portion is about half a piece of fish belly.
For those who like a stronger taste, he also comes with a small plate of wasabi for dipping. In addition, his chopped green onion eggs are real and about the size of 1.5 eggs. The braised tofu is flavorful and tender.
The environment is just like an ordinary snack bar. Considering the price in Taipei, it is very good value.
Open until 1 o'clock, a good choice for a late night snack.
