Overall Review: 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑
Dickson's Fooday mouthful food review is updated!
Although it's a mouthful, it is definitely heartfelt! 🥹🥹🥹
This time I'm introducing a café located in Wenshan District.
This café has more of a literary and artistic vibe resembling an old house!
If you especially like this kind of café style, you absolutely can't miss it!
However, the space inside is really not that large, so there aren't many seats available.
As many parts of the café give a feeling of an old house renovation,
you'll find plenty of spots to take photos when you walk in.
So besides being a basic café, various old house attractions and decorations can also be a big selling point!
As seen in the pictures,
there is a very creative smoking area inside,
decorated with various art pieces and arrangements—
thus, many visitors love to take photos here!
The atmosphere in the café is quite peaceful and serene.
On a hot summer afternoon, it’s perfect for enjoying cool air, coffee, and desserts!
There are also quite a few types of desserts sold here.
You might need to check on the day what desserts are available!

⭐️ Food
I ordered a small cake to try.
Basically, I find the desserts here to taste quite good.
Although they may not be breathtaking,
they pair well with tea!
Eating sweet cake with a delicious drink—
it truly is an enjoyment!
⭐️ Drinks
👉 Cotton Candy Fresh Milk Thick Tea
Generally, this milk tea is just like typical milk tea,
but with the addition of cotton candy,
it becomes a more unique drink.
You can see that basically, it’s the original milk tea topped with cotton candy for a special decoration.
Of course, the cotton candy on top is also edible,
so it’s like milk tea paired with cotton candy.
Cotton candy itself is a small sweet,
and you can toss it in the milk tea to mix and drink.
It's quite a creative beverage!
The basic milk tea part is just like regular milk tea!
I think for this drink, creativity outweighs flavor! 🤣🤣🤣
⭐️ Atmosphere
As mentioned earlier, this café has a feeling of an old house.
The exterior looks very simple and has a vintage vibe,
but once you step inside, it feels more modern.
However, parts of the building still maintain the old house charm,
like the bathroom and smoking area,
which keep a hint of the old house atmosphere.
Thus, the decoration and design in this area have a strong vintage feel,
attracting many customers to come here for photos.
For friends who love this kind of old house café,
I'm sure you will really love it here!
The seating inside isn't too abundant,
so sometimes you might need to wait a little before being seated.
The organized atmosphere is also quite quiet,
making it perfect to come with two or three friends to enjoy afternoon tea and desserts,
and to relish the old house café ambiance.
⭐️ Service
Basically, I remember there wasn't much special service that day,
just the basic food ordering and serving.
⭐️ Price
In terms of cafés in Taipei,
this place is around normal pricing but slightly lower.
Perhaps it's because it’s not located in the city center,
so coming here for a drink and dessert
makes for a fairly high cost-performance ratio!
⭐️ Location
This café is located in Muzha,
and generally, the public transport options mainly consist of buses.
So, in terms of transportation, it may not be that excellent,
and there aren’t any other nearby attractions to pair with a visit.
Therefore, you might need to specially come to visit this café!
So consider how to arrange your itinerary regarding its location!
⭐️ Overall
I think this is a nice café in Muzha,
with its atmosphere and old house vibe being fantastic.
The drinks and desserts inside are also quite decent.
So if you happen to pass by Muzha or are particularly interested in old house cafés or this shop,
you are very welcome to come visit.
Of course, since the seating inside isn’t extensive,
you may need to inquire in advance—or wait in line on-site!
🤪 Dickson's Mouthful Zone 🤪
Well, about Muzha,
I think not many of you have it on your must-visit list, right?
So, if you're bringing a girl to Muzha for fun, (?)
the first place you might think of is the zoo.
After visiting the zoo, it’s probably already afternoon.
So how do you transition to the next date spot in Muzha?
I think this café would be a great choice!
If she happens to really love this old house café atmosphere,
then you’ve hit the jackpot!
She might praise you for your good taste,
with this café embracing an old house vibe,
and noting that each corner, wall, and door has a sense of history,
as if the entire establishment is telling you its past.
Wow, at this moment, having a good chat with her about these topics,
has the distance between you two closed a bit?
A place where cat lovers can adopt
Friends who want to raise a cat but have no connections can come here to take a look
The kittens are all very cute
And they all seem to be under 1 year old
Every cat is very friendly
The meals are decent
The tableware is specially chosen with a cat theme
Since there are many kittens in the store, there might be a slight odor
But it is still acceptable
There is a minimum spend of 150 per person
A 10% service fee is collected for the rescue of stray kittens
The environment is very serene
It's located in a small alley with no noisy traffic
The owner and the staff are very polite
It’s a place that cat lovers would enjoy.
☕️ Chiayi West District ▫️ Next to Chongwen Park
☕️ A warm café mainly featuring fruit coffee
Recently, for some reason, I've been craving tiramisu.
So after finishing our meal, during our afternoon tea time,
we decided to go to a small café that offers 🈶 coffee 🈶 desserts,
hoping to get lucky and eat the delicious treat I’ve been wanting ❤️
Coincidentally, the two coffee shops recommended by the innkeeper were very close to each other.
Both had a great ambiance in terms of appearance.
In the end, we decided to go to "Sunrise Coffee," which features wooden decor,
hoping to bring a touch of sunshine to the soon-to-be rainy weather ☀️
—
Upon opening the door, we were greeted by soft, melodious music 🎵
and a very cool and comfortable air conditioning (very important).
The seating on the first floor consists of only one row of seats in front of the bar.
We chose to sit in the two middle spots 🪑
This café specializes in American coffee made with various fruits.
Today's special is mulberry and pomelo Americano.
The menu also includes regular options like honey apple and red-fleshed guava.
Hand-brewed coffee is kept on the owner's phone 📱 (very mysterious).
The dessert offerings for the day are announced on their IG story,
where you can check and choose on the spot.
I was lucky enough to find the tiramisu I wanted 🥰
After our drinks and desserts were served,
we were unexpectedly greeted by a cat that came out and wandered around, super cute 🐈
It was a delightful little surprise.
Thank you, Sunrise, for your warm companionship,
bringing us a wonderful afternoon.
Next time, whether traveling with someone or alone,
I will definitely visit again ✨
In the alley near Exit 1 of the Dingxi MRT Station
I really like the white and orange decor in the shop!
There are quite a few options on the menu.
I originally wanted to order the peanut butter burger, but they didn’t have peanut butter that day,
so I decided to come back next time to try it~
🍴 Cheese chicken breast sandwich $160
There’s a lot of filling, and it looks very thick overall.
I only finished half, and I packed the other half to take home.
I usually prefer toast that’s been grilled,
but even though this one wasn’t toasted, it was still very tasty.
The chicken breast wasn’t dry or hard to chew.
☕️ Iced plum Americano $160
If you’re hesitant to drink Americano, you can start with this cup.
The sour plum flavor makes the Americano less bitter.
It’s perfect for summer—amazing!
There’s also iced pineapple Americano of a similar type.
I originally wanted to order two cups, but I was worried I wouldn’t sleep at night,
so I’ll come back next time to try it again~
On weekends around noon, there weren’t that many people yet.
Gradually, by the afternoon, it was almost full.
I sat in the first spot by the door.
There are power outlets, WiFi, and no time limit.
There’s also a tabby cat that sits on your laptop and tells you not to work (melting your heart).
The atmosphere in the shop is nice~ They play Japanese songs.
Most of the customers are there to work, so it’s quite quiet.
I’ll definitely come back again. 💖
I heard that this is a popular brunch spot in Taipei's Eastern District, and their hand-brewed coffee is also very good. On weekends during the day, it's often fully booked, but you can call to inquire about available seats on the same day. That's how we managed to secure a table on the day of our visit. 😁
I found out through their official Instagram that it's run by Intro Kitchen! Intro Kitchen is also one of my favorite cafés, known for its modern brunch style (I've even written a review about them), so I'm very happy to have the chance to try Overeasy Coffee, which they have opened.
——
🧷 Environment: 5/5
This shop is actually not very big, with around 5-6 tables for four people, as well as bar seats. However, the four-person tables are quite spacious, so you don’t feel cramped, and the lighting is bright.
The semi-open kitchen allows you to see the chefs at work, but it doesn't make the whole space smell greasy. Personally, I feel it’s a very comfortable dining environment.
——
🧷 Service: 5/5
I noticed that the staff at Overeasy Coffee are all young and handsome guys, and they all have great personalities. When I inquired about the hand-brewed coffee menu at the counter, the charming staff took the time to introduce their signature beans.
Occasionally, there are discounts posted near the counter (for example, when we visited, there was a buy one get one free deal on American coffee). If you’re unsure about any promotions, you can also ask directly at the ordering counter.
😍 A nice touch was that when we were taking selfies outside the shop, trying to adjust the lighting, it seemed like the staff inside noticed and kindly turned on the outdoor lights for us. That was really thoughtful!
——
🧷 Food: 4.5/5
The food was also impressive! I personally highly recommend the "Berry-marinated Salmon and Avocado Toast." The salmon and avocado were beautifully laid out on square toast, making for a great photo op, and it tasted incredibly satisfying.
The bagel was also nice, but it was a bit too hard, topped with a lot of ingredients, making it difficult to slice with a knife. In the end, I could only stick a fork into each topping and eat them separately. 😂
I ordered the iced hand-brewed Costa Rican coffee, which I found quite delicious and smooth, with a subtle fruity aroma. I can’t remember the exact flavor, but it’s the kind of coffee I would definitely want to have again!
——
🧷 Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Personally, I would categorize this place as suitable for #dates #friendgatherings, a #socialmedia-friendly brunch #café. Bringing a girl here will definitely not disappoint. If you're looking for a pretty café to leisurely enjoy brunch with friends or besties, this is definitely a highly recommended choice. 👍
Hello everyone, I’m a little frog 🐸
Starbucks is a chain coffee shop originating from Seattle, and there are many branches in Taiwan; I believe everyone is familiar with this brand.
The Dunhua branch on Dunhua North Road has very unique opening hours and quite a lot of seating, catering to the mixed residential and commercial area nearby. This time, I came to the area for some business and took a moment to rest at Starbucks with a friend.
The entire store is filled with the aroma of coffee, and the quality of the coffee is stable; almost all coffee flavors across Taiwan are quite consistent. It is a trustworthy brand.
☕️ Coffee comes in three sizes:
Tall - 355ml
Grande - 473ml
Venti - 591ml
⭐️ The Caramel Macchiato (Venti) costs $150.
Did you know that Starbucks coffee can be low in caffeine?
For those who want to avoid too much caffeine, it’s a friendly small choice. The coffee is slightly acidic and bitter, making it an average cup of coffee.
Additionally, the coffee label features a little phrase that adds a warm touch.
One cup says: «Wish you happy everyday.»
The other cup says: «May you have peace every day and enjoy good times.»
☕️ TEN THOUSAND Linkou Chang Geng Store ☕️
A specialty coffee brand from New York, operated by a Korean owner, has many branches around the world, including Taiwan, of course. Starting from the very first store in Breeze Nanshan, many others have opened one after another. This time it finally opened in Linkou, and I had known about it for a while. As soon as it had its soft opening, I rushed over to buy some. 🏃 There’s a large open space outside for parking. 🚗 If you need to park, I suggest going early because there aren’t many parking spots, and they fill up quickly!
For those taking public transportation, it’s a 9-minute walk from the airport MRT station, or you can take the bus and get off at the Medical Building; it’s just a 1-minute walk from there!
The interior space of the store is quite large and I think there are a good number of seats available, accommodating quite a few people. When I arrived, there were still many seats available until I finished eating. However, ordering and waiting for food might take some extra time. 👊 The entire space is designed in a minimalistic way, making it very comfortable and suitable for just hanging out.
This time I ordered:
▫️ Tiramisu Croissant $150
The croissant was incredibly delicious! You can squeeze coffee sauce into the croissant for a different flavor, balancing out the bitterness of the coffee.
▫️ Pistachio Cream Croissant $190
Surprisingly, the pistachio pairs well with the croissant—super loved it!
▫️ Black Sesame Latte $190
The black sesame was on the sweeter side, and the mochi was also tasty—perfectly balanced with the coffee, so it wasn’t too bitter.
▫️ Latte Coffee 16oz $170
I personally found the coffee a bit on the bitter side.
This is an inexpensive and delicious place that I visit from time to time, and I’m recommending it to everyone now.
Today, I ordered brown sugar pearl milk. Since I always order it hot, I'm not sure if the ice can be adjusted, but the sweetness is fixed. Personally, I think it's just right—not too sweet. Also, the pearls here are quite tasty.
Water Brother Coffee is located in a lane of the Daan District, and it is a modern-style café. Perhaps because space is precious, the seating here is relatively small and a bit cramped, yet the business is still thriving. My visit this time was to add some new working cafés to my list while doing nomadic work, but evidently, this place did not make the cut.
As for drinks, I ordered a creamy cold brew coffee, which is a rare item among coffee beverages. The fermented taste of cold brew is deeper, which is also why many people are reluctant to try it; however, the whipped cream on top provided the perfect balance. A friend ordered a matcha lemon soda, which looked rich but had a perfectly balanced sweet and sour taste without bitterness, making it a delightful summer drink and a tasty matcha concoction.
In terms of food, we ordered a few items. First, the classic cinnamon roll, which was somewhat disappointing as the pastry was on the drier side. Although there was icing to help, it still wasn't enough to qualify as a good cinnamon roll. The egg salad sandwich, on the other hand, was well-seasoned and the bread was soft, tasting quite good. The portion was just right for a snack for me, but it might not be suitable for those with bigger appetites looking for something more filling.
Besides the regular coffee, drinks, desserts, and light meals, the menu even features some quite appealing coffee cocktails. Although the space is not as comfortable as one might have imagined and most customers seem to come primarily for chatting and socializing, in terms of the creativity and quality of the menu, it is actually quite impressive.
✨ Pets can be on the floor or on chairs
✨ No service charge / No time limit / Has power outlets / Has a restroom
Find a pet-friendly café with Shiba Inus in San Chong .ᐟ.ᐟ.ᐟ
The first floor has a Japanese style, while the second floor leans towards classical art.
The air conditioning on the second floor is very cool, and almost every seat has a power outlet~
Additionally, the owner is thoughtful and merges tables if they see a customer using a laptop during meal times, providing spacious seating for four.
The shop dog, a white Shiba Inu named Woohoo, is 11 years old; it’s friendly to people but not to dogs.
If you bring your dog, the owner will tie Woohoo on the first floor.
This place is pet-friendly; dogs can be on the floor or on chairs.
To go to the second floor, there’s a long staircase, so it’s not recommended to bring strollers.
If you do bring one, you can borrow a spot on the first floor.
This café is located between the Xianshe Temple MRT Station and San Chong.
It’s a bit of a walk from the MRT station; driving or biking is more convenient, and there are quite a few parking spots nearby.
๑ Toast with rock salt and honey $120 ◡̈
Highly recommend this Danish toast .ᐟ The outer layer is crispy while the inside is soft; the texture is great.
On top, there’s butter, sprinkled with sea salt, honey, and almond slices.
When you take a bite, the flavor of the honey spreads in your mouth.
Although it’s a simple combination of ingredients, it’s very delicious.
๑ Latte $130 ◡̈
The coffee aroma is strong with hints of molasses.
Even after the ice melts, it doesn’t get diluted.
I had it to go before and loved it ♡♡♡
๑ Caesar Salad $140 ◡̈
I usually don’t like Caesar dressing because it can be too salty and heavy.
However, this café’s Caesar dressing is specially made and unexpectedly refreshing.
The portion is generous, with romaine, cucumber, bell pepper, and apple.
Moreover, it’s thoughtful that the salad is pre-mixed,
so every bite is coated with plenty of salad dressing. (੭ ˃̣̣̥ ᵕ˂̣̣̥ )
๑ Smoked Chicken and Spicy Pepper Hot Pressed Toast $100
This dish is more conventional~ the toast is grilled to a crispy texture.
The cucumbers and tomatoes inside make it juicy overall.
However, it’s a bit unfortunate that the spicy pepper isn't very prominent.
( ◡̈ : I recommend ordering it! )
