The environment of the bar is dimly lit, and it’s not suitable for taking photos with a flash, so please excuse any blurriness in the pictures.
Recommended by a colleague, VIXIV 614 Club, located on Dongmen Road Section 2 in Tainan, is a bar full of atmosphere. The overall decor leans towards dark tones with a hint of retro style, featuring both first and second floors. The first floor is noticeably livelier, making it suitable for chatting and drinking, while the second floor is relatively quiet, ideal for small group gatherings or enjoying a drink alone.
This time, I happened to encounter their new menu, and without hesitation, I ordered a cocktail called "Taiyaki." The name is very enticing, and it was a pleasant surprise when I drank it—it really did taste like taiyaki with red bean filling! I don’t know how they concocted it, but the combination of sweetness with a hint of creaminess truly makes it feel like indulging in a liquid version of taiyaki; it’s super amazing and delicious.
My colleague ordered a drink called "Washi," and it had a flavor reminiscent of a traditional Japanese room, with a tatami mat essence. However, his evaluation of this drink was somewhat average; he felt that while there was creativity, the taste was a bit strange.
As for the pricing, since the cocktails did not have the prices listed, my colleague helped me capture a screenshot that day, and later I asked him about it—he charged me 400, so it's about 400 per drink! It’s not exactly cheap, but for a bar with this kind of atmosphere, it is reasonable. Overall, this is a place suitable for drinking and chatting with friends while enjoying the ambiance. Next time I visit, I should try a few more cocktails to see what other interesting flavors I can discover.
The newly opened bar is located in an alley in the East District, featuring a bartender who has won awards at world cocktail competitions. The classic cocktails are excellent, but the special cocktails are also quite unique. I was impressed by one that came with ink and white paper, which you could write on with a brush, and the paper could be eaten along with the cocktail—I've never seen anything like it before.
I also had the chance to try the limited scallion pancake taco, which had delicious filling and tasty dough, making a perfect match. The environment is comfortable and relaxing, and I really liked it.
After having a meal in the Xinyi District, I wanted to find a place to drink because it was very cold and windy that day, so I really didn't want to be outside. My friend thought of this BLAH BLAH BAR, located in Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A8 B1F.
The consumption method is quite unique – you first purchase a drink card, with amounts of 200, 500, and 1000 TWD. After purchasing, you'll get a cup, and then you can choose what liquor you want to drink. The drink card can be tapped on a sensor at the bottom of the screen, allowing you to pour your own drinks, with pricing by volume (each type of liquor has a price per ml written on it).
You can try out quite a variety of drinks, including beer and cocktails, so you should be able to find something interesting. We bought a 500 TWD drink card and each picked two types of drinks to taste. However, we were not very familiar with the machine, so we accidentally poured too much while sampling, and by the time we decided which drinks to order, we didn't have enough money left 😅😅😅.
There’s a water dispenser, ice, and tissues available for self-service, and you can also choose from a selection of food. That day, we used two tables and chairs nearby, and since the cups are plastic and don't need to be returned, you can also drink outdoors. If you enjoy standing around drinking, you should definitely give it a try.
Located near Liuzhangli Station, there's a bar that has both indoor and outdoor styles – it's super convenient to get there in just a few minutes on foot.
The outdoor bar mainly offers natural wines, and there are also some alcohol-free beers and red and white wines available, which taste quite good.
The indoor bar focuses on cocktails without a menu. At first, I was worried about what to order, but after having the first drink, I started to have a lot more ideas.
Personally, I think their classic cocktails are of a certain quality level, and I was quite surprised. This time, I ordered two classic cocktails, both exceeding expectations, and I’ll definitely keep them in mind.
Having been to many bars in Taipei, their bartenders can discuss a lot of things while exploring ideas, and even when you’re unsure about what to order, they can provide many suggestions, so you won’t run out of options.
The alcohol-free cocktails are also quite good and worth recommending. If you're passing by, I highly suggest stopping by the indoor bar to give it a try!
This bar has been on my shortlist for quite some time. I had tried to go before, but if you make a reservation the day before, often only the later times are available! It's better to book at least two days in advance to get the time you really want. On this day, I happened to catch the last reservation slot with a friend.
Once inside the bar, you can immediately feel the great ambiance created by the lighting! They have a transparent kitchen and an open cocktail preparation area, so you can see the bartender mixing your drink right in front of you. You can also see the chef in the back preparing the dishes you ordered!
Today, we ordered more than two cocktails, but since this one is quite special, I wanted to highlight it.
❤️Ham Over
The Chinese translation actually means "Give me that slice of ham." It tastes a bit like a Spanish-style cold soup, and the description also mentions that it has a strong food flavor. You can clearly taste the unique blend of tequila and bitter melon, along with the combination of sweet peppers and ham, making it feel like you're enjoying a dish!
❤️Tropical Penicillin
The Chinese translation is "Tropical Painkiller!" I was a bit worried about the black ants inside when I ordered, but fortunately, the black ants were not in the cocktail glass; they were in a jelly served on the side, and they didn't have any strange taste at all! Instead, the flavor of the cocktail was fantastic; you could distinctly taste the aroma of caramel!
This is a bar I highly recommend recently. The drink menu is extensive. Although I didn’t order food, I saw someone next to me particularly come for drinks and noodles, so I believe it's also quite good!
This bar seems to be somewhat famous in Taiwan~
I saw quite a few recommendations for it on Instagram.
One day, when my friend from abroad came to visit Taiwan, I thought about taking them to try it out!
This bar mainly creates different cocktails based on unique bases 🍸.
The choices for the bases are very special... You can see a variety of savory and sweet options, or even vegetable 🥬 and seafood 🦞 bases on the menu. You can ask the staff, and they will explain what the flavor will be like, and then you can decide whether to order that cocktail!
Personally, I really like sea urchin~
So I boldly chose a cocktail made with sea urchin as the base.
❤️ Sea Urchin Cocktail
When I took the first sip, I was a bit startled, because someone had actually told me at the entrance that sea urchin tastes amazing. However, I felt that the taste in my mouth wasn't the sweetness of fresh sea urchin, but rather a focus on the fishy flavor. So I was a bit confused about whether this flavor should be swallowed or spit out… But I noticed that my friend who ordered the same cocktail really liked it, so maybe it was just a matter of my personal taste…
In contrast, I tried my friend's pea cocktail, which tasted very much like a pea milkshake. It didn't feel like a cocktail at all, but rather had a healthier vibe! I actually thought it was quite good~
If you like to experience unique cocktails, I think you should give it a try, as there will definitely be many surprises! However, the seating in the bar is limited, so you might want to take your chances or make a reservation in advance!
Just a short distance from Shuanglian MRT Station, there’s an alley where the location is very convenient. Although the shop is small, it has everything you need, and the environment is quite nice. There are many types of cocktails available, including various double cocktails with gin as the base, which are tasty, smooth, and slightly sweet. Could this be a "sister cocktail"? It’s quite delicious, and the food is also not bad. Overall, the experience is pretty good.
This bar is located on the second floor of a hotel. After entering the hotel lobby, if our front desk staff can easily find the place, the decor in the bar is very elegant and simple. Moreover, we happened to encounter a resident singer performing in the bar! However, I personally feel that the volume is a bit too loud; if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, you might want to avoid coming on holidays!
I randomly chose a cocktail from the menu 🍸 called ❤️I’m in the mood for love. I think this name is very cute, and the taste of the drink indeed has a sweet and slightly sour feeling, with the sweetness being a bit more pronounced than the sourness. It really feels like the emotions of a young girl in love!
The snacks provided by the bar are very delicious; we accidentally finished two small plates! The staff here actually doesn't mind us eating; a new plate will immediately appear as soon as one is finished! Overall, the service is quite good!
Overall, I highly recommend this bar! There aren't any major downsides. If you want a quiet evening, it's better to go on a weekday; if you want to listen to beautiful singing, choose a holiday! Everyone is welcome to come and experience it!
Actually, this bar wasn't on our must-visit list. We just happened to pass by the door and heard someone singing inside. The singing was so nice that it attracted us to go in. Since it's located in an alley, it’s not easy to spot this quaint little decorated bar. 🍷
The bartender was actually quite polite and made an effort to communicate with us in English. We casually ordered two cocktails, but both cocktails 🍸 were quite disappointing. The flavors were very light, and there was almost no alcohol taste. The bartender’s preferences were completely different from ours, and the cocktails came out tasting very much like cough syrup. After having one drink each, we decided to leave this bar. I didn't even remember the names of the cocktails... You can imagine they really lacked any distinctive features.
If you prefer drinks with a lighter alcohol taste, you might want to give it a try, as the bartender is quite dedicated to finding customers' tastes, and the atmosphere in the bar is fairly nice, but it just didn’t suit my taste at all.
This is a bar that has been widely discussed online. I saw the introduction and thought it would be the kind of place where you could quietly enjoy cocktails 🍷... so I went there out of curiosity!
When I reached the entrance, I noticed there were many people waiting for their seats outside. However, I found it quite easy to get a table for two!
Once inside, the staff were very polite and introduced everything with a constant smile, making us feel right at home. But the bar was really lively... If you enjoy a fun atmosphere, you would probably enjoy it a lot. However, I prefer a quieter ambiance! So throughout my time there, I only ordered one drink... and after sipping it, I left!
The cocktail I ordered was made with guava, offering a subtle sweet flavor. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of drinks with a lot of 🧊 ice, so I found the overall taste to be quite bland, not really what I love!
Overall, I'd say they have a vibrant atmosphere at the bar... it just wasn't quite what I was looking for. If you enjoy a lively environment where you can laugh loudly with friends, you would probably love it. 💕
