As a fried chicken restaurant that has been delayed by egg tarts, I've always felt that KFC's burgers are the least impressive among all American fast food chains.
Today, I ordered the Kara Chicken burger combo. To be honest, aside from the Pepsi being pretty good, everything else was very average. The burger didn't have many toppings or seasoning, and the fries seemed to have been sitting out for a while and were a bit soft.
Overall, if you're going to a fast food restaurant for a burger, KFC is not a good option.
This McDonald's may be the best-performing one in all of Taitung County, as it is located in a prime area. Therefore, during lunchtime, there are always many office workers and students coming here to eat.
The space inside the restaurant isn't particularly spacious, and like most branches, the play area has not reopened since the pandemic, so most people choose to take their food to go.
In terms of the food, I personally feel that it is above the average quality controlled by chain stores. There isn’t any item that stands out as particularly delicious or terrible. One can only say that on a particularly hot day in Taitung, being able to enjoy fast food inside the restaurant is a kind of happiness 😂. Moreover, in this era of obvious inflation, eating McDonald's doesn't feel as expensive as it used to; on the contrary, it is a more affordable option. One can even purchase e-commerce meal vouchers for redemption, making it even more cost-effective.

Instead, I ended up at a familiar McDonald's because I was attracted by their sign outside (Korean sweet and spicy fried chicken), and they also have sundaes to enjoy. Plus, the super cold air conditioning is unbeatable on this island; you don't have to sweat while eating outside. Moreover, there are seating areas on both the first and second floors, so there are plenty of spots, making it a very appealing place in Cheung Chau.

I got meal vouchers from a shopping platform, and since I didn't know what to eat in the evening, I came here to eat. The shop is located near the Minquan West Road MRT station.
The original flavor fried chicken pieces were just as I expected; the chicken pieces were flavorful, tender, and delicious, with the skin being quite flavorful as well. The only slight disappointment was that I thought they were a bit small.
The sweet buns are fried steamed buns filled with sweet raisins. They taste pretty good and add a nice touch, with a crispy outer shell and soft interior.
The fries are sweet potato fries, which have a different flavor compared to regular fries. They were also quite tasty; sweet potato fries are usually thicker, giving them a better texture.
For the drink, I chose the everlasting classic, Coca-Cola. As long as it’s fizzy, it always tastes good.

They then found my order among a pile of takeout and handed it to me. I ended up waiting at least 15 minutes, while other customers who ordered on-site only waited about 5 minutes to get their meals. Pre-orders are supposed to allow for early pickups, but today due to some staff oversight, I ended up waiting an extra 10 minutes. This service issue didn't lead me to reduce my rating ⭐️, as my review focuses solely on the food; I just wanted to document this incident.

So even though it’s pricier, I still highly recommend it! The vegetable portion includes two large slices of tomato and some onions.

I have recently had a strong craving for a Big Mac, and even though I just finished dinner, I couldn't resist stopping by McDonald's to grab one. I customized my Big Mac by adding extra lettuce + Big Mac sauce + pickles + onions, which made it even more enjoyable; however, it made the burger quite thick, and I ended up a bit messy after eating it. But honestly, I think the original proportions are the best, since this way the flavor of the beef gets kind of overshadowed. The star is the beef patty!

I believe the Big Mac is a must-try item at McDonald's. Sometimes I don't even want to order fries or a drink; I just want to eat the Big Mac alone. The double beef patties are perfectly seasoned for my taste.
I ordered a beef rice burger. Previously, I thought that a burger should be made with bread, and using rice to make a burger seemed strange, so I never tried a rice burger. This time, I approached it with an open mindset and was pleasantly surprised that it tasted better than I expected. The rice had enough stickiness, so it didn't fall apart as I ate it. Paired with the beef, it didn't feel like I was just eating a beef rice dish. Overall, it felt very refreshing.
