PROMETTENTE 義大利麵 永春店

4.2
6 reviews
Pasta | NT$260-NT$330

AI Spot Summary

The ingredients used in the dishes are substantial, and the flavors are outstanding. I especially recommend the garlic anchovy pasta and the volcanic fillet dicing pasta; the former is savory and layered, while the latter is delightfully spicy. The desserts, such as the original flavor cheesecake, are smooth and natural, while the amber cheesecake is quite sweet. The white sauce dishes are slightly lacking, so I suggest choosing other recommended dishes.

The restaurant has a camping theme, with unique interior decor that creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, making customers feel as if they are outdoors camping, perfect for friends looking to unwind. The seating is appropriately spaced, avoiding a crowded feel and providing comfort.

The staff is friendly and polite, providing a good dining experience that makes customers feel valued. The overall service efficiency is high, making the dining process enjoyable. The restaurant also offers small games and discounts, adding to the fun of dining.

PROMETTENTE Pasta
Located near the Yongchun MRT Station, the main dishes are almost all priced below $300, with desserts included and no extra charge for additional pasta, offering a heartfelt and creative Italian pasta experience.

For dine-in, the comfort level of the seating is relatively poor, with low tables and chairs, and the chairs being canvas folding chairs, which can be uncomfortable for long sitting. Therefore, I prefer takeout, which also offers a 10% discount (cash payment).

This restaurant is affordable yet not sloppy; each pasta main dish comes with a dessert panna cotta (you can choose between original flavor or brown sugar amber), and you can upgrade the meal with a rich and sincere white sauce seafood chowder and bread for an extra charge.

It’s worth mentioning that the chowder here is definitely not just a mere "soup." The base is rich and flavorful, with substantial ingredients (seafood, potatoes), and has a complex layering. I highly recommend adding the chowder!

My undisputed number one is the "Garlic Anchovy Pasta."
Combining slices of pork, plenty of garlic, cherry tomatoes, homemade anchovy sauce, basil, and egg yolk, this creative pasta has a wonderfully enticing aroma when it hits the table. The scent of olive oil, the saltiness of the anchovies, the spiciness of the garlic, and the creaminess of the egg yolk blend perfectly on the noodles. I usually order it "slightly spicy," and the overall flavor is rich and multi-dimensional—it's my first choice every time I visit.

The "Volcano Fillet Dice Pasta" delivers a spicy punch.
I ordered it "slightly spicy" (the lowest level of spice allowed is "slightly spicy"), but for me, it was almost extremely spicy, to the point that I had to blow my nose while eating XD. Although the beef chunks were a bit scarce, the fragrant and spicy stir-fried aroma was captivating, with colorful bell peppers, enoki mushrooms, and plenty of dried chili peppers. Personally, I found the flavor to be slightly more Chinese, but it's still a bold option worth trying, especially recommended for spice lovers.

However, not all flavors are stunning.
I personally cannot recommend their white sauce series—such as the "Black Truffle Cream Chicken Risotto" and "Cream Salmon Fillet Pasta," as the flavors were bland and lacked depth, even making me wonder if they came from the same kitchen. I feel that even my haphazard attempt at a white sauce risotto using leftover rice at home tastes better. I suggest new customers start with the anchovy pasta and chowder to truly experience the restaurant's prowess.

Finding a restaurant in Taipei that offers reasonably priced, generous portions of high-quality Italian pasta isn’t easy, but Promettente, nestled in the alleys of Yongchun, is the kind of place that will surprise you and keep you coming back for more. The dishes here not only use quality ingredients and boast outstanding flavors, but they also include drinks or cheese, making the value incredibly touching. 🥹

Highly recommend the "Garlic Anchovy Pasta."
The homemade anchovy sauce is savory and layered, paired with slices of pork, garlic, cherry tomatoes, and basil, creating a bright yet rich flavor. What really elevates it is the addition of a raw egg yolk when served, making the overall texture smoother and richer. The savory and creamy elements intertwine, making it one of the most memorable pastas I’ve had recently!

Another dish is the "Volcano Beef Dice Pasta."
This is a fiery option for spice lovers. I opted for "mild," but the heat is nearly at "super hot" level—deliciously spicy without being throat-burning. The diced beef is stir-fried to perfection, remaining juicy and tender. Even with the spice enveloping it, the beef's presence is still felt, making it fragrant and appetizing. 🌶️

For dessert, there’s the "Plain Cheese."
It has a smooth texture, with a pure and natural milky flavor—perfectly balanced without being too sweet or rich, making it a high-quality way to end the meal.

Then there’s the "Amber Cheese."
Drizzled with brown sugar sauce, it significantly elevates the sweetness, making it a favorite for those with a sweet tooth, but I personally prefer the pure and clean flavor of the plain cheese.

Overall, Promettente Italian pasta is not just about clever pricing; it’s also about ample servings and, most importantly, great taste. From the main courses to desserts, everything is sincere and hearty, making it a place I would willingly recommend to friends and revisit. However, I do want to remind everyone that I previously tried the white sauce series and found it lacking, which is a significant contrast to the above two dishes. I suggest sticking with the garlic anchovy pasta.🤣 If you're looking for high-value Italian pasta in Taipei, this place definitely deserves a spot on your must-visit list!

📍Taipei Yongchun Station

The entire decor of the shop has a camping vibe, creating a slow-living atmosphere amidst the bustling city. The seating arrangement is just right, making it feel cozy without being crowded. The menu is designed with a magazine-like feel, and the descriptions of the dishes are detailed, showing a lot of thoughtfulness.

Dishes 🥘

  • Pink Mushroom Salmon Noodles / NT$300:
The pink sauce is a blend of tomato and cream sauce, with a subtle tomato aroma but a rich creamy texture. There are plenty of salmon chunks, but I personally find the fishy taste a bit strong, overshadowing the sauce's flavor, which affects the overall dining experience.

  • Cheddar Bacon Soft Boiled Egg / NT$220:
This dish feels somewhat like a fresher version of Carbonara. Although there is an egg yolk, the sauce isn’t very thick, and overall, there's a bit too much sauce for my liking. It’s not the type of sauce that perfectly coats the pasta, but for this price point, it’s still quite refreshing and tasty.

  • D Set Meal / Sinful Cheese Fries / NT$195:
This dish is a definite calorie bomb, featuring skin-on freshly fried French fries topped with melted cheese and small pieces of bacon. It’s impossible not to enjoy the flavor when you eat it, but having too much can be quite overwhelming, so it's better to share with a group.

  • D Set Meal / Creamy Mushroom Soup / Rosemary Crispy Bread:
Both the soup and bread are thoughtfully prepared. The mushroom aroma in the soup is strong, and the bread is great on its own or for dipping in the soup.

Overall, it’s a pretty good place for gatherings, with a comfortable space, decent dishes, and after eating, there are little games where you can take home small gifts.

📍Xinyi District, Taipei City (Near Yongchun MRT Station)
A cozy camping-themed Italian pasta restaurant ⛺️🍝

Late at night the day before the holiday, I suddenly had a craving for pasta, and this restaurant was open for online reservations ☺️

The shop has clearly put a lot of effort into the appearance and interior decor, creating a camping atmosphere, although I personally find the camping chairs a bit inconvenient for face-to-face chatting.

The menu is thoughtfully designed in a newspaper style 📰 and clearly notes all the details of the dishes.

🥘
Ordered items:
💗 Pink Mushroom Salmon Noodles ($300):
The pasta was pretty standard, with the sauce leaning more towards a creamy flavor. It was a taste I could imagine, but it didn't have a surprising impact; eating too much can be cloying.

What's good is that the portion of salmon was generous, and the pieces were quite large. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente.

🥓 Cheddar Bacon Soft-Boiled Egg ($220):
Average performance, a bit more outstanding than the previous pasta dish.

🌼 Osmanthus Oolong (served with pasta) lightly sweetened and no ice:
The restaurant has a section dedicated to hand-shaken drinks, and it was super delicious!!! It has a very strong floral aroma with a sweet aftertaste.

🤍 Set D ($195)
The side dishes were outstanding! Highly recommended.

  • Creamy Mushroom Soup:
Rich in creamy flavor, it feels like extra cream has been added! When served, the staff will ask if you want black pepper; adding freshly ground coarsely ground black pepper makes it even better ❤️‍🔥.

  • Rosemary Crispy Bread:
The bread has great chewiness and elasticity, and you can indeed smell the rosemary.

  • Sinful Cheese Fries:
Freshly fried fries with the skin on, topped with melted cheese and crumbled bacon—so indulgent! It's best to share, or it can get overwhelming by the end.

🍄
Would I revisit: Yes!
The dining atmosphere was quite comfortable, and the side dishes were excellent! Next time, I’d like to try other main dishes.

✏️
Notes:
🔸 The restaurant also has some small games; if you can give a five-star review at checkout and accurately hit 8.8 seconds (with three decimal places being zero!), you can get an additional discount! (Super hard 😅 It feels almost impossible.)
🔸 Additionally, there's a promotion: if you spend over 500, you can grab a can of cola (aluminum) and the shop will provide a plastic bag for you to take it home 🤣.
