Located near the Yongchun MRT Station, the "Cuckoo Bird Bakery" is one of my favorite and irreplaceable bakeries in Taipei. The warm baking shop greets you with the aroma of freshly baked bread, using quality ingredients, friendly prices, and consistent quality, along with a warm and enthusiastic owner.

The shop offers a rich variety of items, each with its own personality. I often buy the "Multigrain Nut Bread," which carries a strong citrus aroma from the orange peel and has perfectly balanced sweet and sour dried fruits, combined with the crunchy texture of nuts, creating a wonderfully layered experience.

The "English Chocolate Cookies" are particularly impressive; they are not sweet at all and are made with high cocoa content chocolate, offering a rich, bitter aroma that appeals to mature palates. I always buy them whenever I see them, haha.

The "Taro Bento" features layers of musky grapes, pudding, cake, and taro puree, providing a rich and distinct flavor profile, and at just 149 NTD, it’s super affordable.

The "Mentaiko French Bread" is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, paired with a fragrant mentaiko sauce, boasting a savory richness that offers layers of flavor with every bite.

The shop displays a variety of cakes, from individual portions to large sizes, with a wide range of options to satisfy different dessert lovers' needs.

Cuckoo Bird Bakery is not just a bakery for everyday supplies; it feels more like a healing corner in the midst of ordinary days. In this era where everything is silently getting more expensive, it still speaks through honest ingredients and genuine flavors, without any exaggerated gimmicks, quietly earning countless fans. This wonderful shop is one I always return to, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone around me.

Located on Songde Road in Taipei, "Cuckoo Bird Pastry Workshop" is a bakery with a strong classical style. The shop's design is unique, with wooden decor and retro lighting that give a cozy small-town dessert shop vibe as soon as you step in. The space is not large but is very stylish, making it the kind of place where you can't help but take a second glance as you walk by, and once inside, you feel like you want to leave with a whole bag of bread and pastries.

This time, I bought the "Lattice Egg Tart."
This one truly astonished me. The crust features a delicate layered structure, with a crisp outer layer and a slightly soft inner layer, creating a clear texture distinction. The filling is rich in egg flavor, smooth and creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness—definitely not overpowering. It's a highly refined egg tart, and I should have bought a few more of them.

The "Chocolate Cookie" also performed well; it’s not overly sweet and carries a slightly bitter-sweet chocolate aroma. The cookie itself is solid yet not hard, topped with chocolate chips that add a crispy texture. It’s a perfect snack to pair with black coffee or unsweetened tea.

As for the "Tokyo Cheese," it’s a bakery item I personally highly recommend. Even when not baked, the bread is soft, delicate, and very fresh. The cheese filling is rich and aromatic without being too salty. Baking or air-frying enhances the crispness of the outer layer and elevates the aroma, making it increasingly tempting with each bite. It’s a savory bread that makes you want to repurchase.

In summary, "Cuckoo Bird Pastry Workshop" is a rare find in Taipei, combining quality and affordability in a small, charming bakery. Whether you are a dessert enthusiast, a bread lover, or simply looking for an afternoon snack, you can find satisfying choices here. Considering the surrounding prices, this place is genuinely sincere and is a local baking treasure worth visiting again and again!
