Curry Lab. Tokyo Little Giant Store
A Japanese curry specialty shop with an excellent geographical location, conveniently accessible and not noisy. It offers not only reasonably priced dishes but also layers of flavors that are unique. Whether you are a curry connoisseur or someone looking to try something new, it is definitely worth a visit.
Soy Milk Chicken Curry + Skirt Omelette
Although the sauce is not thick, it is rich in aroma and full-bodied in flavor, with a warm milky taste and a hint of sweetness that is not overwhelming. The large chunks of chicken are stewed to be tender and juicy, and the moist and smooth skirt omelette adds another layer of delight. The creamy softness of the omelette and the aroma of the curry blend perfectly in the mouth. The portion of rice can be adjusted, and the ratio of sauce to rice is just right, making it very enjoyable to eat.
No-water Meat Sauce Curry + Cheese Slice
With a slightly stronger flavor, the aroma of pork is rich with a slight tang, reminiscent of a combination of Taiwanese minced pork and Japanese dry curry. However, because it is a no-water curry, it lacks the moistness of sauce. It is recommended to pair it with dandelion greens or a skirt omelette to enhance the smoothness and overall balance. Personally, I still prefer the warm layers of the soy milk chicken curry.
The complimentary unsweetened black tea adds extra points; it is refreshing and helps cleanse the palate without overshadowing the flavor of the curry.
Soy Milk Pudding is also impressive.
The creamy and delicate texture paired with a caramel sauce similar to milk candy is sweet without being cloying, making for a perfect ending.
Overall, Curry Lab. Tokyo is not only conveniently located and affordable in price, but also has thoughtful and balanced flavor designs. I recommend it to those who love Japanese curry but do not want to eat something too greasy.
