Today, I came to the famous breakfast place in Hsinchu - Xiao Dao Tian. Last time I came on a weekday, I had to wait for two hours because reservations are not allowed, so I left empty-handed. This time, I finally got seated after a two-hour wait, and I was really moved 🥹.
We ordered two types of breakfast: the pan-seared chicken thigh and the signature fried chicken. The chicken thigh had a crispy exterior and was tender and juicy inside—absolutely great! This breakfast was paired with French toast, which was deliciously sweet when eaten with honey. The signature fried chicken was paired with three round fluffy pancakes; the fried chicken pieces were huge and super crispy, and they oozed juices. The pancakes were quite thick, and I personally found them a bit sticky while chewing (does anyone understand what I mean? 😂, so I didn't really like them). Overall, the breakfast platter was very rich and came with a side salad for a refreshing balance, which I quite liked.
The summer mango smoothie is definitely a must-order here! When it arrived, it was stacked super high—it was quite a sight! It tasted purely of mango sweetness, perfect for quenching thirst on a hot summer day!

My favorite restaurant in Hsinchu. It is indeed the famous brunch in Hsinchu.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had a brunch that I thought was amazing.
There is only on-site waiting, so you may have to wait for a while before you receive a call.
(If you are bored, you can go to the retro sticker machine opposite to take pictures. It is really fun and beautiful!)

Although I have difficulty choosing, I am actually very happy when I see the variety of dishes in the store :D I am not afraid of not being able to order what I like.
