Today, I came to the famous breakfast place in Hsinchu - Xiao Dao Tian. Last time I came on a weekday, I had to wait for two hours because reservations are not allowed, so I left empty-handed. This time, I finally got seated after a two-hour wait, and I was really moved 🥹.
We ordered two types of breakfast: the pan-seared chicken thigh and the signature fried chicken. The chicken thigh had a crispy exterior and was tender and juicy inside—absolutely great! This breakfast was paired with French toast, which was deliciously sweet when eaten with honey. The signature fried chicken was paired with three round fluffy pancakes; the fried chicken pieces were huge and super crispy, and they oozed juices. The pancakes were quite thick, and I personally found them a bit sticky while chewing (does anyone understand what I mean? 😂, so I didn't really like them). Overall, the breakfast platter was very rich and came with a side salad for a refreshing balance, which I quite liked.
The summer mango smoothie is definitely a must-order here! When it arrived, it was stacked super high—it was quite a sight! It tasted purely of mango sweetness, perfect for quenching thirst on a hot summer day!
