The restaurant offers a fusion of Asian cuisine, translating complex and rich elements into contemporary dishes. The flavors are distinctly Taiwanese, and everything from the appetizers to the desserts is impressive. Some dishes have a slightly strong seasoning, but the overall creativity and technique are outstanding.
The restaurant features elegant mid-century design, with a comfortable and clean environment that creates a sophisticated dining atmosphere.
The service is in place, and the staff's introductions to the dishes and drinks are insightful, allowing customers to feel the professionalism and thoughtfulness.
T+T is one of the few Michelin one-star restaurants in Taipei that focuses on a fusion of Asian flavors. The overall dining experience maintains a delicate rhythm, from the space and service to the pairing of food and wine. The culinary style emphasizes the combination of spices, sauces, and ingredients, presenting rich layers of flavor. However, some dishes show slight fluctuations in seasoning balance.
Starter: Quail Egg / Sesame Oil / Seaweed
The seaweed has a nice crispness and a refreshing texture, but the sesame oil's aroma is rather weak, leaving it lacking in memorable points.
Fennel Aroma / Vermicelli / Chili performs well, with the vermicelli absorbing the soup, creating concentrated flavors. The combination of chicken and herb aroma is natural, making it a comfortable opening dish.
Abalone / Pickled Vegetables / Shaoxing Wine
The broth is quite tasty, with the aroma of Shaoxing wine blending with the ocean flavors. However, the pickled vegetables and pepper are too strong, lacking balance. The abalone is tender and fresh.
Rose Duck / Truffle / Wheel Cake
The structure was originally interesting, but the pepper seasoning is also quite heavy, affecting the overall balance, which is a bit disappointing.
Supplementary: Crab Dumplings
Delicious, the crab meat is very fresh.
Main Course: Lamb Saddle / Black Garlic / Jujube
Stable performance; the lamb is tender without any gamey taste, and the black garlic adds a deep sweetness with a clean overall layer.
Premium: Wagyu Beef / Pear / Qindao
Quite outstanding, the fat is delicate and melts in your mouth, while the fresh sweetness of the pear enhances the overall texture, making it one of the highlights of the meal.
Mackerel / Yellow Curry / Jasmine Rice
Creative but ordinary in execution.
Malt / Osmanthus / Glutinous Rice
Becomes more interesting as you eat, with the aroma slowly unfolding.
Finally, the Honey / Old Ginger / Sesame is the most surprising, with a very good balance of sweetness and spiciness. This was my favorite dessert of the entire meal.
Overall, T+T showcases the creativity and technique of a Michelin restaurant, though some dishes are slightly heavy on seasoning. The wine pairings are excellent, greatly enhancing the overall experience.
Committed to translating the complexity and richness of Asian cross-cuisine recipes into contemporary dishes that resonate with empathy, sparking international dialogue at the dining table. The elegant mid-century restaurant serves European cuisine alongside a variety of wines, with a comfortable and clean environment, and flavors full of Taiwanese essence, ahahaha.
From the first dish to the final dessert, everything was truly impressive, the service was also on point, and the introductions to the food and drinks were very insightful. Great food!
This restaurant is actually considered an old brand of finding. It features an open kitchen that presents a European bistro style. Their introduction to T+T is interpreted as tapas tasting, representing a delicate and exquisite experience. When I got to know this restaurant, I learned that their set menu changes every month, and most of the dishes pair well with our Asian culinary culture, making the Michelin one-star rating absolutely well-deserved!
I specifically noted a few particularly impressive dishes, especially…
The classic and unbeatable
❤️ Oyster Noodle Soup
I’m not sure if that’s the real name, but this is a creative dish inspired by oyster noodle soup. Visually, it conveys the essence of the noodles, and the fried noodles wrapping the fresh oysters along with a garlic-flavored dipping sauce elevate this dish to another level! My friend said… if this dish is gone in the future, they would not return to T+T! This shows how important this classic dish is.
❤️ Wheel Cake
This dish is also a classic menu item in the restaurant; no matter how many times the menu changes, it still appears. The main flavor is truffle mushroom puree paired with duck liver, which has a very rich taste, combined with the enchanting aroma of truffle, making it a luxurious and delicious little wheel cake!
❤️ Main Dish - Lamb
If you don’t like lamb, you can actually switch to beef. However, I personally highly recommend this main dish because it has no strong lamb flavor, and the lamb is incredibly tender. Paired with a specially crafted sauce by the chef, I could eat as many pieces as I like!
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant 🍴 and after having the first experience, I would want to return to taste each seasonal menu. The dishes reflect the chef’s creativity, the service shows the staff’s dedication, and the overall design provides a great quality experience! I look forward to everyone sharing each seasonal menu with me!
