It's about a ten-minute walk from the Shuanglian MRT station. The boss's tone is quite unpleasant, but quite a few people are still lining up to place their orders. Even before it’s half past five, there are already many people queuing inside the shop. If the counter staff's attitude were a bit better, it would definitely improve the experience. Also, remember to double-check the details of the meal, as there might be mistakes in what is given.

Regarding the meal: I ordered scallion oil chicken thigh rice, which costs NT$120. I originally ordered duck thigh but received chicken thigh instead; the boss misunderstood and gave the wrong dish. It actually tastes quite good; the chicken thigh is tender, and the scallion oil flavor pairs well with rice. There are three types of side dishes, and the portions are decent. If you dine in, they provide soup and will ask if you need it. The soup tastes good; it’s neither too watery nor bland.

There are quite a few seats inside the restaurant, and even before mealtime, many people come to buy takeout.

Scallion oil chicken leg rice, NT$120. I originally ordered duck leg but got chicken leg instead because the boss misread the order. It tasted pretty good; the chicken leg was very tender, and the scallion oil flavor goes well with rice. There are three types of side dishes, and the portion size is also okay.

Umami by Han
AsianMaastricht
Umami is a modern asian fusion restaurant which "is dedicated to creating a unique dining experience that combines the best of both worlds, showcasing the art of umami flavors and fostering a sense of community through social dining." They serve original Chinese fusion dishes in a modern setting. The dishes are innovative with a culinary touch for an accessible price. Not only the food is innovative and different from anything else, they also serve amazing tea-pairing menus. You can choose between the social dining menu which comes with 3 courses while each course consists of two dishes to be picked from the menu. However, all dishes can be ordered a la carte as well. Additionaly there are two pre-arranged menues, the Michelin Bib Gourmand menu to be chosen between three or four courses and which is available as a vegetarian version too. We went for the Michelin Bib Gourmand menu with four courses. The selection was very well chosen. The two dishes coming for each course matched very well and delivered a journey through all different tastes. The atmosphere was good and the staff very friendly and helpful. Definately a recommendation if you like asian food and want to try many different tastes for dinner.

🐓 expats are as expats do — a famous touristy place for enjoying the world-renowned 海南-styled Chicken Rice, medicinal herbal soup with quality bitter melon plus extra sweet choko, a icy-cold longan drink that is good for maintaining better blood pressure (especially after consuming so much meaty saturated and trans fats) and a petite bowl of complimentary traditional Chicken’s Feet Soup — well, the simple yet aromatic chicken is fresh, juicy and tender with a pinch of salt and their secret spicy chilly sauce; not anything surprising beyond foodies’ fairly high gastronomic expectations though, these affordable flavors are eternally welcomed for worldwide hungry customers indeed.
