From noon until late at night, Ramen Shop Qian Yun is a great choice for enjoying ramen!

The dining time at the Zhongshan location is still very busy. We chose to enter at 3 PM (yes! The advantage of this place is that they don’t close in the afternoon).

Even during the afternoon off-peak hours, there was still a bit of a wait, which shows just how popular Ramen Shop Qian Yun is.

I have previously eaten at the Guanghua location, and compared to that, the Zhongshan location has significantly fewer seats—about half as many—and the space is smaller as well. Luckily, this time, the staff seated us at a table for four, so dining was still quite comfortable.

Pros:

  • The ramen is affordable and delicious! Friends who enjoy yuzu chicken white soup flavor will definitely love this place~
  • The char siu rice is very fragrant, with chunks of lean pork that are rich in flavor.
  • The fried gyoza is above average, with a very crispy exterior and a filling that is full and juicy.

Cons:

  • The kitchen has a bit of a heavy oil smell, but it’s manageable and not to an unacceptable level.
  • Noodles cannot be refilled for free; each refill costs $45.

Overall, this is a very delicious ramen shop that won’t disappoint, and it’s open during both afternoon and late-night hours, making it perfect for ramen lovers looking to satisfy their cravings any time of day! I personally would be willing to come back for a bowl from time to time~

Signature Grapefruit Salted Chicken Soup Noodles $350 This flavor is a lighter version of "Rich Chicken Soup Noodles." The proportion of chicken broth is much less, and there is more of the fresh sweetness of grapefruit along with the original savory broth. Personally, I really like it! The grapefruit flavor is strong and refreshing. It also comes with 4 pieces of sous-vide chicken breast and 3 chicken meatballs. The chicken breast is tasty and not dry, but I'm not really a fan of the meatballs. The onion flavor is not too strong. Last time I had the extra-large ramen with a lot of raw onions and it was super spicy; I prefer the amount this time, haha.
Pork Pan-fried Dumplings with Savory Juicy Filling $150 The outer skin is fried to a very crispy texture, while the minced pork and vegetables inside retain a rich broth, making it very enjoyable to eat. Dipping it in the yellow mustard on the side is also quite nice.
Char Siu Rice $90 The meat is very flavorful and delicious. I've never had pork that was so well marinated, and the proportion of lean meat is really high, so it doesn't feel greasy at all. If you have a good appetite, I highly recommend ordering a bowl of Char Siu Rice to enjoy with it! 👍
Fried chicken nuggets $100 (3 pieces) The fried chicken nuggets from this place are not really my favorite type; I don't like the texture of the batter coating. But the meat quality is quite good!
Yuzu-scented tea I personally think it pairs really well with ramen, but there are just too many ice cubes added!!
