The mooncakes performed very well, especially the mung bean yolk pastry, which had a great blend of flavors and was very enjoyable. The red bean yolk pastry was slightly sweet but still acceptable; the taro pastry was a bit ordinary. The pineapple pastry, egg yolk pastry, and sun cake were all very popular and suitable for gifting. The small mung bean flavor was authentic but slightly dry.
The environment is bright, clean, and comfortable, with a lively atmosphere and a large crowd on site, requiring people to queue and wait to make a purchase.
The service is friendly, enthusiastic, and polite. The overall experience is very good, and you can make a reservation in advance for pickup, saving waiting time.
One year during the Mid-Autumn Festival, my family received a box of Li Ji's small mung bean pastries. When I first tried them, I was very impressed; they had the pure mung bean flavor that I like. Personally, I do not enjoy mung beans paired with braised pork or other ingredients. This time, the small mung bean pastries seemed a bit drier (but isn’t it hard for this type of mooncake not to be dry?), yet the taste was still good. I also bought some sweet taro pastries this time, and I felt that the combination of taro and red beans was quite nice. Li Ji is a mooncake brand I have always liked; since I happened to be in Taipei with some time nearby, I would want to buy one to eat.
The environment is bright, clean, and comfortable; the service is friendly, warm, and courteous. Overall, the experience is very good. The only critique might be that the prices are a bit high, haha! However, you get what you pay for, and every time I need to give a gift, this is my first choice. Plus, the option to pre-order for pick-up saves a lot of waiting time, which is great.
I really like the pineapple cakes, salted egg yolk pastries, and sun cakes. This time, I brought 7 boxes of the deluxe gift sets and 3 boxes of sun cakes to give as gifts, and they received great reviews as well!
Mid-Autumn Festival🎑 came to buy mooncakes at Li Ji in Taipei🥮!
I originally wanted to place an order~
But they require a minimum amount for pre-ordering,
So this time I had to wait in line in person 😂
Wow, as soon as I arrived on-site…
There were so many people 🥲
However, the stock on-site looked plentiful,
So those who lined up should be able to buy something!
This time I waited in line for almost 50 minutes before finally buying it 😂
Mung Bean Yellow Egg Pastry
I've always heard from colleagues that this one is really delicious.
I bought it to try this time,
And it really is tasty!
The egg yolk inside doesn’t stand out as a whole piece,
But rather it blends well with the mung bean filling 😋
So good!
Red Bean Yellow Egg Pastry 🫘
I think the red bean in the red bean yellow egg pastry is a bit too sweet,
Not as impressive as the mung bean one 😝
But it’s still pretty good 👍🏻
Taro Pastry
I was quite looking forward to this one as well,
But when I tasted it, I felt it was quite average 🤣
It was just full of taro filling,
Nothing particularly special, haha
(Or maybe I had too high expectations?
I didn’t try some of the other items~
Overall, I think it was quite nice.
Each one averaged around $80,
So I’ll mark it as $80 🤩
If there are any errors, please help update, thank you!
By the way, I thought the mung bean yellow egg pastry was particularly special!
Friends who are interested can give it a try 😎
