I saw someone share it earlier, and it was ranked very high.
Today I happened to be nearby, so I decided to wait in line and check it out.
Since I got off work on time, there was a free table when I arrived.
No waiting in line, that's great!

🌟 Beef Aged Set Meal Curry
Personally, I feel the temperature of the curry is not very high,
It doesn't have a burning sensation.
The rice is also just warm.
The beef is very tender and not tough at all.
The overall seasoning is above standard.
I think it would be even better if the temperature could be a bit higher.

🌟 Fried Food Combo
It seems the fried food combo is newly launched.
It includes tempura, fried wontons, and squid cake.
The temperature for this is excellent.
The fried items have a nice crunch, and the seafood is quite fresh.
Overall, the flavor is pretty good.

The decor of the whole restaurant has a pretty Japanese vibe.
The individual seating feels quite nice.
It's definitely worth a visit.

If you haven’t found your destined curry rice yet, please come and try Tongan Ripe Curry. This Japanese curry restaurant ranks among the top three best curries in Taipei in my opinion.

The first time I ate Tong'an curry was at our restaurant on Tonghua Street. I remember that the queue was really long. Later, we opened Zhongshan and Shuanghe stores. This time we visited the Zhongshan store, which is walking distance from Shuanglian Station. about 5 minutes

Although there is usually a queue for Chitongan, because the time limit is 40 minutes, the table turning time is quite fast. We arrived at 6:30 on Sunday evening and waited for about 30 minutes to be seated.

There are only 11 seats in the store, 7 of them are in the bar area, and there is a group of tables for 4 people

The low-cost meal per person is a curry set meal, which includes half a soft-boiled egg, potato cubes, chopped onions, garlic sprouts, miso soup and side dishes.
(You can also refill rice and miso soup for free once for internal use!)

We both ordered the chicken aged curry set meal for $250

Tongan's mature curry is a thicker type of curry with a minced texture. It is cooked with spices imported from Japan, and a little bit of the store's homemade spices and chili oil are added. The taste is really unique ~
ps Chili oil is not very spicy, just slightly spicy. The clerk will ask if you want to add more. It is highly recommended. If you don’t want to eat spicy food at all, you can also ask the clerk not to add it.

Each piece of chicken is quite big. I gave 5 pieces, which I think is quite sincere. The chicken is super soft and tender, with no trace of dryness at all.
ps. Beef is also available. If you have a hard time choosing, you can eat both types of meat. The store thoughtfully provides a mixed option of beef and chicken.

Let’s talk about the best supporting role: miso soup!
I usually don’t care much about miso soup when eating Japanese food. I think it’s just for filling my stomach (?)
BUT! The miso soup at Tongan is very special and delicious. What’s the special method? It has a creamy aroma that you can smell just by putting your nose close to the mouth of the bowl. I personally like it very much! recommend!

The soft-boiled eggs and potato chunks feel like they have been fried, and they are also delicious; the accompanying side dish is pickled grapefruit and radish slices, which are very refreshing and suitable for eating together to relieve fatigue~

Overall, Tongan's set of curry set meals can be described as "top-notch" and the price is pretty affordable. I really think it's worth queuing up!
