A stylish Taiwanese snack shop with an artistic vibe 🍽️🥡

The last time I visited the nearby September Tea Restaurant, I was attracted to this small snack shop with warm-toned decor right next door!

I checked Fooday, and the reviews were quite good, so I was looking forward to dining here this time. On a weekend afternoon, after being seated, there was a queue of people waiting afterward.

This item is not on the menu, so keep an eye on the in-store sign for seasonal dishes.

The noodles in this dish had a nice chewy texture, and I quite liked the flavor of the century egg. However, the century egg was chopped into a thinner sauce, which slightly diminished its richness.

I personally thought the mustard flavor was quite strong, which I did not particularly enjoy.

🍗 Lao Tong Fried Chicken ($75):
The fried chicken skin was very similar to the coating of Taiwanese fried ribs; overall, it tasted quite like savory crispy chicken without much fragrance.

🌶️ Spicy Red Oil Dumplings ($75):
The dumplings were really small, but the seasoning was quite nice.

The dry noodles were thin and salty, and they were quite tasty!
The drink was my favorite among all! The flavors of white peach and oolong tea complemented each other very well.

I got off work early today and came here to eat, so I didn't have to queue. I have the impression that you had to wait during meal times before.

The comfort chicken rice is so delicious and amazing. The chicken rice is grilled and topped with a special sauce, just like eating Japanese food.
You can make Taiwanese food look like Japanese food. You must have put special thought into it. I think it is great and innovative.

The fried hand noodles with red oil are also very delicious. Although a little spicy. The noodles are quite chewy and chewy. I don’t know if there are any specially selected noodles, but I always feel that they taste different and better than the ordinary traditional noodles.

When I first saw the signature broth, I was a little disappointed and thought it was meatballs, but the way the meatballs are composed is different. They are more like meatballs made from food prototypes, which is very special.

The store looks small from the outside, but it is clean and bright inside. There is a toilet and most of them are single seats. There are only 2 tables for 4 people at the door.

Red oil cheat noodles $TWD85, the noodles are quite thick but not too hard, spicy and delicious, the flavor of the noodles is not too heavy and delicious with spicy sauce

It’s the nostalgic fried pork chop $TWD85. I thought it would be a thicker pork chop, but it turned out to be a fried skin similar to the salty crispy chicken at the night market. The taste of the skin overpowers the taste of the pork chop.

It is located near Minquan West Road Station, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 6. The signboard and exterior design of the store make people think it is trendy. When I passed by, I thought it was a coffee shop, but when I took a closer look, I discovered that it was a Taiwanese snack bar. Silently add to the to-eat list

The number of seats in the store is not very small, but when I passed by during the previous holiday, there were many people queuing outside, even before the store opened. I chose a weekday night and finally got the chance to eat, and there was no queue at all!

Common dry noodles, sesame paste noodles, braised pork rice, red oil noodles, and wonton soup that are common in Taiwanese snack bars are all available here. There will also be some limited time products, such as peeled chili chicken noodle soup today.

Comfort chicken rice $55
Top it with wasabi and mayonnaise and make it grilled. It tastes slightly spicy and has just the right amount of refreshment. It’s a bit like the grilled pork rice sold in ramen shops. It’s special and delicious. The only drawback is that there’s no soy sauce underneath. There was a lot of rain, so the rice was a little dry, but the flaws really outweighed the flaws. I highly recommend this bowl of rice, order it!

Lao Tong’s signature noodles $95
The sauce is made with spicy chili seeds and homemade soy sauce. It tastes mildly spicy, and I can tolerate it even if I don’t dare to eat spicy food. It’s also topped with chicken barbecued pork and half a soft-boiled egg, and it tastes pretty good; yes A delicious bowl of dry noodles, but to be honest, because I ate chicken rice first, I felt that the signature noodles were not very impressive.

There are 8 wontons in total. The sauce looks very red and spicy, but it tastes okay, just slightly spicy. The wontons are small and can be stuffed in one bite.

Lao Tong Fried Chicken $70
There are about 10 pieces, fried very crispy, and tastes like a traditional ancient breakfast. I personally think it is a little salty, but it comes with pickled radish, which can relieve the greasiness, and it seems to be just right.

Overall, every meal I ate today was delicious and completely unremarkable. I think it’s a restaurant where a family can eat delicious food and be full without spending $200, and the dining environment is very comfortable.
