The selection of dishes is rich, with standout items like kimchi-flavored onion pork belly, tempura shrimp wrapped in seaweed, and omelet that are all quite impressive. The grilled butter soy sauce Hokkaido scallops and crab meat salmon roe chawanmushi are also very delicious. The grilled tuna and grilled salmon sushi have an alluring aroma, but the grilled wagyu sushi is slightly dry and hard, while the miso ramen is on the salty side.
The dining atmosphere is full of fun, and after finishing your meal, you can participate in a lottery for capsule toys, adding to the enjoyment of dining. Collaborations with different brands attract repeat visits, such as the partnership with the Sanrio family, which introduced cute capsule toys.
During holidays, there are a lot of people, but the service efficiency is good. After drawing a number, the waiting time is not long.
Location: Yilan County, Yilan City
The last remaining department store in Yilan
The restaurant inside Crescent Plaza
On holidays, the Sushi Train is always filled with crowds
But today, I came a bit earlier for lunch and happened to avoid the large crowd
After waiting and browsing for about 10-15 minutes, I got a seat
🌟 Seared Tuna and Seared Salmon Sushi
I find both of these seared options very delicious
When I eat sushi, I personally love seared varieties
Because in addition to the sweetness of the seafood,
There's an added smoky flavor from the grilling
It's truly captivating for me 😍
🌟 Seared Wagyu Sushi
Wagyu typically has more marbling
So it should be delicious when seared as well
However, the piece I had might have been overcooked due to the searing time
Or not properly managed during other processes
The texture was a bit dry and tough
It's a bit of a shame
🌟 Miso Ramen
My family wanted to eat other main dishes
So we ordered this one
It was very salty, and the flavor was rather ordinary
Nothing particularly special about it
Such a pity
After climbing the mountain today, I found myself sweating profusely under the blazing sun. I originally just wanted to find a place to grab something cool to eat, but unexpectedly walked into Zang Sushi, which instantly rejuvenated my tired body.
Although the weather was hot and my appetite wasn't great, I couldn't help but indulge in several plates after seeing the dazzling array of choices. Each dish not only looked appetizing but also tasted astonishing!
For instance, the kimchi-flavored onion pork belly had a perfect balance of fat and lean meat, paired with mildly spicy kimchi that was both sour and fragrant, evoking a touch of Korean BBQ flavor; the more I chewed, the more fragrant it became. The fried shrimp tempura wrapped in seaweed was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, complemented by a slightly sweet sauce and crispy seaweed, creating a rich layered texture. The tamagoyaki was moist and soft, with a subtle sweetness that made it irresistible, inviting one bite after another.
I also enjoyed the seared butter soy sauce Hokkaido scallops, which released a fragrant buttery aroma upon biting. The scallops were fresh and juicy, with the savory saltiness of the soy sauce perfectly highlighting the sweetness of the seafood. The steamed egg custard with crab meat and salmon roe was smooth and rich, packed with generous ingredients, allowing me to taste the care that went into it.
As for the hot dishes, they didn’t disappoint either. The spicy pork belly and miso ramen were both hearty and warming, especially the spicy udon, which had a bit of a kick and a rich sesame aroma, making it perfect for replenishing energy after the hike.
Moreover, what’s interesting about Zang Sushi is that for every five plates you eat, you get to draw from a gacha machine. Although my luck wasn’t great today—I didn’t win a single prize—the entire dining experience was still super fun, eagerly anticipating the next lucky draw while enjoying my meal.
Overall, whether you want something refreshing, to recharge your energy, or just to satisfy your cravings, this place really has options that can fulfill your taste buds. I definitely want to come back next time to try dishes I haven’t tasted yet, and hopefully, I can win a gacha prize!
Cang Sushi has always been one of the many conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Taiwan. They do not accept reservations by phone, but you can book online. On weekdays at noon, there aren't many people dining, so you can just take a number and wait to enter. Although watching the conveyor belt is interesting, I still prefer ordering directly. Now, you can order by scanning a QR code with your phone or using a tablet.
I've always liked sushi; it allows for good control over portion sizes, especially since they've introduced mini rice options, enabling you to try more items. My personal must-order item is tamagoyaki. I inexplicably love Japanese tamagoyaki; it has a simple, delicious flavor. I also enjoy the seared sushi: scallops, eel, salmon, etc. This time, I tried spicy pork belly (though I didn't get much of a spicy kick, the pork wasn't overly fatty) and a hamburger steak (I ordered it because it seemed special, and I found it quite reasonable in flavor). So far, I haven't ordered anything disappointing, but their alcohol selection is a bit too limited, currently only offering beer.
What’s interesting about Cang Sushi is that after finishing your sushi, you can deposit your plates; after five plates, you can draw a lottery capsule. Although I often don’t win, it adds fun to eating sushi. They also frequently collaborate with different brands, increasing the likelihood of revisiting. Until June 27, they are collaborating with the Sanrio family, launching their adorable capsule toys, so interested people should check it out.
