Hashtag B's egg tarts and bread are innovative and eye-catching. The purple rice oat tart has a moderate sweetness, while the Earl Grey pineapple bun is crispy and fragrant. The Napoleon caramel mille-feuille has rich layers, and it's recommended to eat the pistachio mille-feuille after reheating. Overall, the quality of the ingredients is high and worth a try.
Hashtag B is a popular Instagram-worthy café known for its cute style and appealing packaging, attracting many customers to take photos and share. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, perfect for those who enjoy innovative desserts.
Although the review did not specifically mention the quality of service, a wait time of about fifteen minutes indicates the restaurant's popularity. It is recommended to visit early to avoid running out of limited items.
Hashtag B, located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, is a very popular bakery in recent years, known for its innovative and visually appealing egg tarts and breads. With a cute style and charming packaging, it has become a hotspot for social media influencers.
I waited about fifteen minutes this time, and I was quite lucky that the limited editions hadn’t sold out yet. I chose a few signature items as follows:
⸻
Purple Rice Oat Tart - $24
This is a limited edition flavor in collaboration with OATSIDE. The purple rice filling and milk flavor blend naturally, with a mild sweetness that makes it quite comfortable to eat. Anyone who loves oat desserts would probably love this.
Earl Grey Pineapple Bun - $16
The pastry is truly flaky, and as soon as you take a bite, the aroma of Earl Grey tea comes rushing in. It’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, retaining the soul of traditional Hong Kong-style pastries while incorporating modern creativity.
Napoleon Caramel Mille-Feuille - $18
This one is served warm (though not particularly hot), and the combination of flaky pastry layers and caramel creates a wonderful aroma. The egg filling is smooth and sweet without being overwhelming; it's rightly one of their signature items.
Pistachio Mille-Feuille - $32
The topping is pistachio paste, sprinkled with crushed nuts. When eaten cold, it loses a bit of fragrance, but you can still taste the quality of the ingredients. It shows sincerity, but I would recommend reheating it before eating.
Croissant - $21
The exterior is beautifully layered, and the aroma is rich. It has both flakiness and chewiness when bitten into, representing a stable performance.
⸻
Overall, Hashtag B is a bakery worth trying. Not only is it cute and eye-catching on the outside, but it also has substance on the inside. I highly recommend the purple rice tart and the caramel mille-feuille; they are thoughtful creations that do not lose their Hong Kong flavor, perfect for those who love egg tarts but want to try something new.
Location: Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
It's one of the most popular egg tart shops on Instagram.
They come out at eleven o'clock, and we started lining up around 10:15.
There was a long line of people waiting.
They officially went on sale at 11 o'clock.
Although I couldn't take a picture of me actually eating it because there was no place nearby to eat, I had to move to another location, which was beyond the designated spot. 🥲
We ordered three original caramel egg tarts.
Each one is super big, so the two of us shared one.
The crust is very crispy and has multiple layers.
The inside is very soft, almost like pudding.
And there is sweet caramel at the bottom, which can drip if not handled properly.
The bottom is a bit too sweet for my taste, so I prefer another shop.
If you plan to buy a lot, you can avoid the line by ordering in advance.
However, I still highly recommend trying it at least once if you go. 🤣
✨Napoleon caramel mille-feuille tart HK$18
The outer shell of the egg tart is still very crispy after cooling, and the sweetness is not too high after biting into it. The bottom layer of the egg tart is made of melted caramel, and the slight caramel juice matches the filling of the egg tart, which is very distinctive.
✨Pomelo Thousand Layer Pagoda HK$24
The tart shell is the same as the original caramel, and the filling has a texture similar to cheesecake. The more you bite into it, the aroma of grapefruit will slowly come out. You have to feel it with your heart. Overall, it tastes good but not particularly amazing. It is recommended to buy the original flavor. Got it
