Fulong bento is known for its nostalgic style, with slightly moist white rice and flavorful but slightly dry braised pork. It is accompanied by braised egg, dried tofu, pickled cabbage, and shredded cabbage, creating a rich texture. The spicy pickled vegetables add an appetizing touch.
The restaurant atmosphere is lively, and the air conditioning is cool, but the dining environment needs improvement; the trash bins are often full, and the tables are not clean enough.
The staff is friendly and efficient. Although there were many people in line, the checkout speed was fast.
🧸 Although there are many Fulong lunch boxes at the station, this one is easy to find, just outside the station.
Business hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
I always buy from this place whenever I come; the menu is very simple.
There are only two choices: the signature lunch box and the lean meat lunch box ($80).
🔅 There are a lot of people in line, but with few options, the checkout speed is quick.
🔅 The air conditioning is cool, and there are plenty of seats; many people are parked with bicycles at the entrance.
🔅 The dining environment is a bit unsettling, with overflowing trash bins nearby, and it feels like no one wipes the tables.

😋 Besides eating bento when coming to Fulong, it’s all about eating bento! This "Xiangye Bento" has been established since 1958 and is a favorite among many locals and travelers. The entrance and inside are both filled with crowds, so we headed straight to the dining area at the back, which is cool and spacious, making it much more comfortable to eat than at the pavilion in front!
🍖 This signature bento is super rich: it includes braised egg, pickled cabbage, braised pork, sausage, dried tofu, and cabbage, all neatly packed in the bento box! It’s savory and flavorful without being overly salty, with the rice portion just right, and the ingredients complement each other without clashing. The overall taste is the standard of traditional Taiwanese bento.
👍 I recommend it to you if it's your first time in Fulong, and I also recommend it to those who think "all Fulong bentos are the same." This one is really made with more care and has a history.

The super famous Fulong bento, right outside the train station, you can immediately see many people lining up to buy bento. Each bento looks very hearty, with a variety of ingredients laid over the white rice, including dried tofu, two slices of braised pork, stir-fried vegetables, pickled cabbage, braised eggs, and pickled radish... it's all incredibly abundant! The braised pork in the signature bento has both fatty and lean parts, so you won't run into issues of it being too greasy or too dry. Although there are many different items inside, they are all very flavorful. It's perfectly fine to take a bite of vegetables, a bite of rice, and then a bite of meat~
Their spicy pickled radish is delicious; you can scoop some at the counter to go with your rice~~
