The broth for the spicy pork hot pot set is made from slowly simmered pork bones, rich but not overly spicy. The sweet potato wide noodles are chewy and springy, paired with chili oil, offering a stimulating taste without being too intense.
The store is clean, has the atmosphere of a traditional Taiwanese snack shop, and offers a self-service bar.
The restaurant uses a QR ordering system, making it easy to customize requests, with attentive and patient service.

"Weipin Xuan is located on Yitong Street in Zhongshan District, adjacent to the well-known Siping Street shopping area. The restaurant mainly sells various Sichuan dishes such as Huangmen Chicken Rice, Spicy Sour Noodles, and Spicy Hot Pot.
Today, I enjoyed a spicy hot pot pork set meal, priced at 150 NT dollars.
Spicy Hot Pot Pork Set Meal:
In recent years, more and more restaurants are using QR code ordering, and Weipin Xuan is no exception. Personally, I feel that using QR code ordering allows me to better consider what I want to eat. If there are any customization requests, it also makes it easier for the restaurant to understand.
I chose pork as my meat, sweet potato wide noodles as my main dish, and requested a mild level of spiciness. The soup base, which is a yellowish color, is made from simmered pork bones and has a very rich flavor. The chili oil used as the source of heat is stimulating but not overpowering, and of course, this is partly due to my request for mild spiciness.
The sweet potato wide noodles have a strong and chewy texture that is captivating; they absorb the soup better and have more resistance compared to regular sweet potato noodles. It's not easy to find sweet potato wide noodles; at least in the areas of Taipei and New Taipei that I know of, Weipin Xuan is currently the only place where you can get sweet potato 'wide noodles' in a Sichuan style restaurant.
In addition to ordering via QR code, you can also directly pick the ingredients you want from the vegetable section, weigh them, and then pay. However, I think the set meal is already very delicious.
Overall, it is a Sichuan dish that is suitable for both mild and stimulating flavors. If you don't want it too spicy, the Huangmen series is quite sufficient. If you can handle spice, there are drinks available for dine-in. Even if you don’t want to drink the tea in the restaurant, there are many drink shops nearby in the Siping shopping area, so feel free to challenge the level of spiciness.
I recommend it to everyone!"
I am ignorant, this is the first time I have heard of yellow chicken rice. The store looks like a traditional Taiwanese snack bar and is clean.
I ordered the mildly spicy yellow beef rice. After eating it, I understood that yellow beef is a dish where meat is simmered with spices and vegetables. The beef itself is pork belly, cooked very tasty and delicious! The overall nutrition is also quite rich, including vegetables, onions, potatoes, etc. The slightly spicy version is actually quite spicy for me personally. It goes well with rice, but those who don’t like spicy food may want to consider it.
The biggest failure is the white rice. The white rice is basically the sticky and Taiwanese-flavored rice that you usually get from stir-fried or school meals (I don’t know how to describe it, everyone knows it)… If the white rice can be cooked well, I’d really recommend it!
