The cuisine is diverse, and especially the seafood crackers are surprisingly delicious, with a delightful crispy texture. The seafood tofu soup is also rich and tasty, but the Korean barbecue can sometimes have a noticeable pork smell.
The interior has the atmosphere of a traditional Korean diner, and reservations are recommended due to the crowd.
There is a service where the staff grills the meat for you, allowing you to enjoy your meal with peace of mind.
I visited this very popular Korean restaurant this time, but the dining experience was very poor, and I personally would not consider coming back.
We waited 30 minutes to be seated, and once at the table, the staff was very enthusiastic in taking our orders. We ordered Korean barbecue, seafood tofu soup, potato rib soup, and seafood pancakes. At first, I thought the staff was very professional at grilling the meat, but to my surprise, the meat was foul. No matter which part it was, there was a very strong smell of rotten pork; this was the first time I realized that pork could smell this bad. The whole dining experience was ruined by this plate of smelly pork.
Although the soup tasted fine and the seafood pancakes were delicious, the rotten pork was really unacceptable. I suggest the restaurant not to use rotten pork, as it is truly unappetizing. Taiwanese pork is clearly cheap and tasty, so why would we be served rotten pork?
【Donghui Korean Cuisine】Previously, I noticed that during lunchtime, the restaurant was always packed and you had to wait a long time for a table. So, I decided to make a reservation in advance to give it a try! The décor of this Korean restaurant is very simple, resembling an old establishment that has been around for decades, and they have everything from barbecue to soup.
The signature dishes in the restaurant include budget-friendly barbecue and Korean BBQ, and the staff will assist with grilling, so there's no worry about burning it yourself.
The restaurant provides free tea and seaweed soup (though we ordered additional soups), and there is a wide variety of dishes available, with the small dishes available for refill.
【Meal Reviews】
▶️ Korean BBQ 1.5/5
The pork belly has a noticeable unpleasant smell; Taiwanese pork shouldn't smell like this. I'm not sure if it was a quality issue with the pork that day or other factors, but overall, I had a very poor impression.
The marbled pork performed slightly better, but the overall meat quality was rather average and didn't impress me.
On the plus side, there is dedicated table-side service for grilling, so you can just sit back and enjoy watching the grilling without any effort on your part. 😌
▶️ Seafood Tofu Soup 4.5/5
The saltiness and spiciness are both moderate, and the flavors of the seafood and tofu are rich, perfectly embodying the essence of Korean soup, making it great with rice.
▶️ Pork and Potato Soup 3/5
It performed adequately, with decent flavor.
▶️ Seafood Pancake 5/5 👍👍
This was the most impressive dish! I initially thought it would be like the usual flat seafood pancakes, but when it arrived at the table, it was an extravagant version, very special in presentation, with an astonishing size and a strong visual impact.
Moreover, it was perfectly crispy, had rich layers of texture, and although it was a bit oily, it was incredibly satisfying. It completely overturned my stereotype of Korean seafood pancakes. I highly recommend this dish!
▶️ Spicy Stir-Fried Rice Cakes 3.5/5
The sauce is rich and feels very authentic, and the rice cakes are of moderate softness, not too chewy.

【Helpful Reminder】
I made a reservation over the phone and went on a weekday afternoon, but since there were many customers, I waited for about 30 minutes past the scheduled time before being seated! 🇰🇷 It seems to be a very popular restaurant!
[Atmosphere Inside the Store]
The interior felt like a local diner, which made it easy to enter casually, whether you consider it Taiwanese or Korean style! The staff was constantly bustling about, but they still grilled the meat for us, and I thought the service was good.
[Impression of the Food]
We were able to enjoy a variety of dishes since five of us went, including two types of soup, barbecue, Korean pancakes, and tteokbokki! Personally, I found the Korean pancakes to be crispy and delicious! However, a colleague mentioned they were greasy, so opinions might differ, haha. Indeed, I got full quickly after eating just one or two pieces.
I’m not good with spicy foods, but the red soup wasn’t too spicy, and the tofu absorbed the soup well, making it very tasty! It paired excellently with rice♪
The barbecue came in easy-to-eat sizes, and it was nice to enjoy it with various side dishes and tarts!
[Overall Impression]
My clothes smelled when I stepped outside, but I guess that's part of the charm of Korean cuisine, haha. It’s a place where you can easily enjoy Korean food just like the real thing, so I’d like to go back again 🥹
