"Cute and enthusiastic boss + plain and simple food = Tainan"
As a student in Tainan, I eat all the time when I return to Tainan
The 14th stop on Tainan’s 400th anniversary food and drink journey - Sister Feng’s Duck Rice
In fact, I have never eaten at this restaurant during my four years of college in Tainan. I accidentally saw the introduction of a food blogger on Instagram a while ago, so I decided to try it when I came to Tainan this time.
Fengjie Duck Rice is located on Minzu Road. Looking at the Google map reviews, many people said that this restaurant often has a long queue. We have to queue up at 10:30 in the morning. We came to dine at 5:30 on a Sunday afternoon. We want to say it is dinner time, and it is already I was mentally prepared to queue up, but I didn't expect that I didn't have to wait at all. Maybe it's because it's close to closing time (it's only open until 6:30 p.m.)
The most famous meal here is duck leg rice. Because it is limited in quantity, I heard it is usually sold out very early. When we visited near closing time, we must have run out of duck legs, so we each ordered a piece of duck rice.
Duck rice $75
In addition to white rice and boneless duck meat cut into small pieces, there are also some dried bamboo shoots and prunes (yes, the prunes used to embroider the meat), which go very well with the rice and make the whole duck rice taste delicious. It would be so monotonous
The white rice was topped with some marinade, which was salty and delicious, but it was a little greasy after eating. Plus, the portion of rice was quite large, and I almost couldn't finish it.
Overall, it's a delicious duck rice, but I personally don't think it's so delicious that I need to come here to eat it. If you need to queue for a long time, I suggest you skip it and come back during the popular times.
