"Lisa Thai Cuisine" is about a 5-minute walk from Shuanglian Station, located on Chengde Road. It's a popular dining spot in the area, and during meal times, there are definitely many customers waiting outside for dine-in or takeout.
"Lisa Thai Cuisine" opens at 5 PM. My friend and I arrived around 4:55 PM on a Saturday, and to our surprise, there were already 3-4 groups of customers waiting outside, which was quite unexpected.
However, we later noticed that among those groups, many were waiting for takeout, and there were quite a few seats available inside, so when they opened at 5 PM, it didn't instantly fill up. That said, it was completely packed by around 5:30 PM! During our meal, quite a few people called in for takeout as well.
Regardless of whether dining in or taking out, you need to queue to place your order and pay upfront, and they only accept cash. The lady taking orders tends to speak quickly, but I personally think it's not a big deal; she doesn’t come off as fierce or impolite.
Chicken Stir-Fried Mama Noodles $140
This is actually just stir-fried instant noodles. I ordered it with a little spiciness, and it turned out to be mildly spicy, which was quite acceptable. I personally feel that the stir-fried mama noodles have a unique peanut aroma, which is quite special. The chicken pieces are fairly large and not too dry, but I wouldn’t call them tender; they're just decent. They also included a good amount of cabbage, which is a nice plus. Moreover, there’s a substantial amount of noodles, so it feels satisfying! A small drawback was that I’m not sure if it was the colder weather that day, but the noodles got cold shortly after serving. It’s better to eat them while hot!
Chicken Stir-Fried Glass Noodles $140
This dish was ordered by my friend, and I found it very flavorful. It was stir-fried beautifully; regarding spiciness, it was also ordered with a little spice, but perhaps the glass noodles absorbed more heat, making this one closer to medium spicy.
Stir-Fried Cabbage $80
I initially wanted to order water spinach, but they only had cabbage that day. I found it quite different from what I envisioned; the fish sauce flavor was very strong. My friend jokingly said it was somewhat like eating fish feed. Those who like fish sauce might enjoy it, but both my friend and I thought we probably wouldn’t order stir-fried greens again next time.
Thai Milk Green Tea $70
I initially thought it would taste like the orange Thai milk tea, but it was quite different from what I expected. It's called milk green tea, but I personally think it tastes more like sweet matcha milk? I actually liked it quite a bit! I guess both matcha lovers and those who enjoy sweet drinks might like it too!
