Spring oolong tea has a refreshing taste, with a distinct aroma and a delicate sweetness in the finish. It is a daily tea choice with a style that is not too strong and a stable flavor.
The simple blue and white sign is eye-catching, and the decor follows a minimalist style. Although the waiting area is not very spacious, it is sufficient.
The service attitude of the staff was good, making people feel pleasant.
The Dezheng shop in Taipei's Gongguan area is located on Lane 316 of Roosevelt Road Section 3, one of the busiest alleys near the National Taiwan University main gate, about three minutes from the Gongguan MRT station.
Today I enjoyed the Spring Oolong, priced at 35 NT dollars.
Spring Oolong:
I chose a little sugar and normal ice since the weather is starting to get warmer.
The Spring Oolong tea has a refreshing flavor and a distinct aroma, with a subtle sweetness in the finish. It is a type of tea that is not too strong in style and has a stable flavor, making it a good everyday tea choice. If you want a stronger tea flavor, you might consider Light Oolong or Roasted Oolong.
The set price is 35 NT dollars, which is considered affordable in Taipei, making one lament the recent inflation.
Overall, it’s a consistent chain of hand-shaken drinks. It’s impressive how Dezheng, which started in Taichung in 2020, has rapidly gained popularity. After tasting their solid tea beverages, you might understand the secret behind the chain’s acclaim.
The minimalist blue and white sign is very eye-catching, and the overall decor follows a minimalist style. Given that it's in the space-constrained city of Taipei, the waiting area, while not too spacious, is sufficient.
I recommend it to everyone.
In Taipei Gongguan, it's rare to have two consecutive days off due to a typhoon, and there are very few drink shops open. So, I decided to stop by this one after passing by Dezheng to give it a try.
As usual, when tasting a new drink shop, I always order their plain tea first and opt for less sugar and less ice or half sugar and less ice to gauge the quality of their plain tea.
However, since they calculate sugar levels starting from half sugar, I couldn't choose less sugar this time, so I opted for half sugar and less ice.
Using 50 Lan as a standard, their half sugar is somewhat equivalent to 50 Lan's less sugar level. And although I ordered less ice, there were still quite a lot of ice cubes, so I recommend ordering with a little ice next time.
As for the green tea flavor, I personally think it's quite average; the taste is somewhat mild, and the aftertaste doesn't have much tea flavor, but it’s not too unpleasant.
Additionally, I feel their staff's service attitude is pretty good!
Overall, it's a decent drink shop. Although I know they mainly focus on other milk tea or oolong tea options, their plain tea is worth a try!
