The pasta at the restaurant has a Chinese-style flavor, with a casual presentation but moderate taste. The texture of the meat sauce and the pasta is satisfying. Dishes like the spicy chicken and the oil chicken have generous portions, making them suitable for sharing.
The lighting in the store is concentrated and may not be suitable for customers who value ambiance.
Reservations are required in advance on weekends, and the service efficiency is high. The prices are on the higher side, but the overall dining experience is satisfying.
If Rimek doesn't have reservations over the weekend, there may not be any available seats, so it's recommended to call ahead during these busy times. Rimek is known for its brunch and lunch options, but today I only ordered from the lunch menu, so I'll write a review based on that.
For lunch, they offer Western-style pasta as well as Chinese-style light meals. Personally, I find the pasta to be more on the Chinese side in terms of flavor, and the presentation is somewhat casual, but it's still delicious. Both the meat sauce and the texture of the noodles are just right. It's not like when you want to eat Japanese ramen but end up with Taiwanese ramen and can't quite accept it.
In the light meal section, there are options like peppery chicken, oil chicken, and braised pork, among others. I personally feel that the portion sizes for the meats in the light meals are a bit large. So, if two women are dining together, they should have the chance to share one portion. Most of the light meal options come with two side dishes and a bowl of soup, so by the end of the meal, you should feel quite full.
Lastly, regarding the prices, for a brunch place that doubles as a café, the food is indeed on the pricier side, but overall, it's delicious.
In Taitung City, there are many brunch places, each with its own unique characteristics. This time, we randomly visited one to leisurely experience a morning in Taitung.
However, things took a sudden turn... First, my friend ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. Overall, it seemed fresh and delicious, but... it was very sweet! There was a strange sweetness between the pasta and the sauce, a taste one wouldn’t normally expect when eating pasta, leaving us puzzled about how much sugar was added.
Not only that, but my white wine clam pasta also suffered the same fate. The clams were plump and tasty, but the pasta had that bewildering sweetness. I really couldn't understand...
The latte I ordered additionally had too strong a milky flavor, lacking any distinctive characteristics, which was a pity.
Finally, my friend ordered a meatless vegetable pancake brunch (vegan). His feedback was that it was very delicious, with a good variety of lettuce, fruits, and tofu as the main dish, quite rich and pleasantly colored; it was excellent vegetarian fare.
Perhaps brunch is still this place's strong suit rather than pasta. Additionally, I would like to point out that most items on the menu were a bit too expensive, making it somewhat hesitant to order. Also, the lighting in the restaurant was a bit too focused, causing discomfort to the eyes while enjoying the meal; if ambiance and environment are important to you, this might not be the first choice.
