The sweet desserts such as pistachio cocoa grape cake and cocoa caramel strawberry roll showcase a high level of completion, with rich layers of flavor and moderate sweetness that leave a lasting impression. Beverages like the little hill garden matcha milk and flavored lattes are equally outstanding.
This hidden dessert shop tucked away in an alley has a quiet and understated atmosphere, matching its exquisite dessert style, making it a secret haven for dessert lovers.
The service is friendly and professional, providing a thoughtful dining experience.
Hidden in the alleys around Florie, the shop “Zhong Tian” doesn't have an eye-catching sign, but it is a place that dessert lovers will specifically seek out. The space is quiet, the pace is slowed down, and the overall atmosphere is quite consistent with its dessert style—low-key, delicate, and focused on the flavors themselves.
What is most impressive this time is the “Pistachio Cocoa Grape Round Cake.” The overall execution is very high; the cocoa cake is moist and not dry, with a well-balanced bittersweet flavor. The aroma of pistachios is clear and rich, not just a decorative element, but truly a core flavor; the grapes are plump and juicy, with a natural sweetness that successfully counterbalances the richness of the cocoa and nuts. Most remarkably, the whole cake is not overly sweet, making it one that one would want to savor slowly and not rush through!
The “6 cm Cocoa Caramel Strawberry Roll” has a relatively noticeable sweetness, with a strong caramel presence, but it is still very delicious. The whipped cream in the roll is light, not greasy, and the acidity of the strawberries prevents it from being overly sweet, resulting in a satisfying and stable dessert 🍓.
The beverages also perform brilliantly:
“Little Mountain Garden Matcha Milk” can be ordered sugar-free or sweetened; the sugar-free version is genuinely unsweetened, with a clean matcha aroma and clear tea flavor that is smooth and not bitter, making it very drinkable 🍵.
“Flavor Latte” features a balanced ratio of coffee to milk, offering a rounded texture ☕️.
“Earl Grey Milk Tea” has a clear Earl Grey tea fragrance with natural bergamot notes that are not overwhelmed by the milk flavor.
Overall, the desserts and beverages at Zhong Tian display a mature control of flavor and restraint. They do not rely on sweetness to win over customers, but rather let layers and textures speak for themselves, making it a quaint dessert shop people want to visit repeatedly.
[Four stars: overall highly recommended and will come again]
Everyone says that Hsinchu is a food desert, but I think the roses in the desert are particularly beautiful♡ ̖́-
Although there are not many stores, the ones I have visited so far are all of high quality👍🏻
This is a quality shop. Although it is located in a very narrow alley, I didn’t know there was a cafe here unless I walked in (it’s so narrow that even a car can’t drive in).
But almost all local Hsinchu people know this store and it is very easy to fill up!
We arrived at around 3:30 that afternoon. Only a group of empty tables that arrived at just the right dining time allowed us to dine. The rest of the seats were full ᵕ᷄≀ ̠˘᷅
As for the items I originally wanted to eat, there are only a few room-temperature breads and cakes left, and the last cake is shining in the cabinet.
The pistachio flavor is my favorite. The size is just right for sharing with friends.
Low consumption is limited to one drink per person

𓌉𓇋 3.5-inch Pistachio Cherry Cream Cake $700
·I originally thought it looked like a cake cabinet, but it turned out to be very ceremonial when it was delivered to the table, with plates and fresh fruits.
Moist cake body paired with not-sweet fresh cream
What I like most is its protagonist, which has a very strong pistachio flavor.
I never thought I could be so compatible with cherries. I think I could eat one...
𖠚ᐝAomori Apple Ice American Style $150
·Coffee with a fruity aroma. The apple flavor in this cup is faintly present. I feel that it mainly comes from the sweetness in the back of the neck. It goes well with desserts.
𖠚ᐝ Earl Gray Tea (less sugar) $150
·It’s just an ordinary tea with an elegant flavor. You can choose the sweetness, which is quite considerate.
