The drinks at Gaoji Tea Shop are characterized by their traditional flavors. The Worry-Free Tea is refreshing and smooth, while the Lemon Tea blends rich lemon with black tea. The Honey Green Tea is fresh and perfect for summer, making people want to savor it again and again. The Honey Fresh Milk Tea has a strong honey flavor and is sweeter.
The store has an atmosphere filled with traditional nostalgia, and the drinks are sold in plastic bags, evoking a sense of nostalgia. The process of waiting in line is also full of anticipation.
Despite the large crowd waiting in line, the staff's service efficiency is high, with each customer having a dedicated service person, making the overall ordering experience smooth and enjoyable. The flow of movement is clearly planned, and the staff responds with ease.
When I searched for Beitou drinks online, I felt it was a long-established shop that many people recommended. However, I didn't know why I couldn't find it using Google Maps (??), and it took me a while to locate it.
When I went there, there weren’t too many people. Their layout seemed well-planned, and it looked like a place that has experienced countless queues. I originally wanted to have black tea because I've heard Beitou black tea is very famous, but then I suddenly had a craving for honey milk tea and ended up ordering it. The honey flavor was super strong, and the taste of the tea felt overwhelmed by the honey. Luckily, I really like honey, but it was quite sweet. The large size was really big—I could drink it all day and feel super full. Calculated, it was much more cost-effective than regular bubble tea shops, and other items on the menu seemed quite cheap too, which might be the key to their popularity (?).
The popular king of Beitou must be him, right? It's also a local old shop, starting from inside Beitou Market to the outside, where it's always crowded with people, though the food comes out quickly, there are still a lot of people, haha. It's just that the digestion is pretty fast.
Worry-Free Tea is a signature drink, but I usually order honey lemon, which is made with real ingredients and is refreshing and smooth—just love it.
There are many varieties, and the staff is sufficient with clear flow; it feels like they're constantly improving, which is great.
Beitou’s time-honored and ancient black tea shop that locals love: Gaoji Tea House!
Beitou has always been famous for its traditional old-style black tea stores. The prices are much cheaper than hand-cranked stores. Many stores have been open for a long time. When I was young, I thought that the famous Beitou local black teas were Cai Yuanyi and Mingquan black tea. In recent years, Gaoji Tea House has become more representative, and more and more people have requested to drink it. Almost every time they come to drink, there is a long queue.
However, although the queue is very long, the waiter digests it very quickly, and the ordering method is quite unique. One by one, the waiters will come out to order food for each customer, and one person will be responsible for each customer and finish the drinks for the previous customer. Only then will he come out to collect money
The former Gaoji was located in Beitou Market. After the market was demolished and renovated, it was moved to the corner of Beitou Market. There was a small branch in the relay market, selling fewer items.
🥤Beverage item recommendations
🤍Wuyou Tea (pure tea large cup 900ml $25): Gaoji’s most famous product is Wuyou Tea, which is actually oolong and green tea. It tastes very refreshing and smooth, with a sweet aftertaste. It is a good choice for those who want to drink pure tea. What’s very special here is that the pure tea retains the essence of ancient black tea - it’s sold in plastic bags, and it’s very retro to drink from a bag😆
🤍Lemon + Tea (large cup 900ml $60): Unless otherwise stated, the default is to add black tea. It would also be nice to add oolong instead. This is my most recommended item in Gaoji! ! ! 🍋The lemon flavor is very strong, and the black tea flavor is also strong, so they go well together! It is a unique taste that you can only drink in ancient black tea shops or Gaoji.
🤍 Pure honey + green tea (medium cup 700ml $40): This is the first time I ordered this item. I don’t know if it’s limited time. It’s not on the regular menu, but posted at the counter. The honey flavor is very rich, and it is refreshing and suitable for summer when paired with green tea. I will still want to repurchase this item next time.
