I often passed by the old-fashioned European retro sign of "Arist Restaurant" and have always felt curious. Finally, I made a reservation to try it out.
As I entered, I walked down a red carpet into a very elegant atmosphere in the restaurant. Am I back 30 years ago? It’s retro but doesn’t feel outdated. The restaurant is surrounded by classic American music from the 1980s, and soon the waiter at the table lit the oil lamp for us. I quickly found myself and my partner immersed in the dim and romantic ambiance.
For the meal, you can choose your favorite steak or seafood as the main dish, with prices ranging from 1500 to 2000. The accompanying salad, soup, dessert, and drinks can be selected according to your preferences, all classic dishes of a steakhouse. The bread is unlimited and freshly baked, served with butter, and tastes great.
For my appetizer, I chose the French onion soup and salad, both above standard. For the main course, I selected the Gourmet Steak for 2300, cooked perfectly, but I personally found it a bit greasy. After trying the ribeye from the table next to us, I found the 1800 ribeye steak to be astounding! For dessert, I chose the Black Forest cake, which tasted quite good.
I recommend that first-time visitors order the iron plate steak, which the waiter will introduce. The iron plate steak has beautiful searing marks, and the perfect Maillard reaction enhances the aroma of the beef to a wonderful level.
Overall, the experience was excellent; it’s a great place for a date because it’s a very traditional Western restaurant that would also appeal to elders. Definitely worth a try!
Today, I don't know what's gotten into me, but I've really been wanting to eat at this steakhouse. After passing by many times, I'm quite interested in this retro style. I thought a Western restaurant that has been open for so long must have some skill. Conclusion: It's really delicious! It's one of the few steak houses that truly impressed me!
I recommend the ribeye steak, done in a charcoal-grilled style. This time, it was cooked to perfection, and the Maillard reaction combined with the hot plate made every piece of meat incredibly flavorful. I haven't had such delicious steak in a long time! I didn’t give it five stars mainly because the salad was a bit ordinary. Also, although the age-old favorite is more expensive, its style isn’t what we prefer; it opts for a more tender and gentle approach. But when it comes to steak, you’ve got to enjoy that rich Maillard reaction!
