I first learned about this place from a dear friend who has passed away,
Recommended while I was in Taitung.
Not long after my friend left us, I wanted to check it out,
But my plans were disrupted by a typhoon, and I had to regretfully cancel.
This year, fortunately, I perfectly avoided the autumn typhoon
And was able to visit at the most comfortable time🍂

The old house at night has a special charm
Warm light illuminates every plant in the courtyard
It feels like returning to a familiar home from a distant place
Particularly attentive so as not to miss any detail🌲

After making an online reservation, the restaurant sent the seasonal menu that day
There are family set meals and light dishes to choose from

The bridge is located in an alley by a Hua Tuo temple. It’s easy to find if you’re looking for it, but if you’re not paying attention, you might just pass by. After entering the alley, you won’t have to walk far to see a large courtyard with an old flat-roof house in the center. The dining area is a renovated part of the old house, and eating here gives you a homely feeling, reminiscent of meals at grandma’s place.

In terms of food, the offerings are mainly in the form of simple meals, with ingredients primarily sourced from local fruits and vegetables, so the side dishes and main dishes may vary each season. Each main dish comes with a drink, with options like guava leaf tea or black tea. The dishes in the simple meals often feature delicious tofu served with dragon fruit sauce, or include ingredients like dragon beard vegetables and colorful eggs. The rice is always distinct and chewy.

If there were a ranking of the top three simple meal restaurants in Taitung, this place would definitely be on the list! Although the prices are somewhat high, it at least provides a feeling of value for money.
