♢ Banna Curry Specialty Shop ♢
Location: Near Shui Ping Wan Park, about a one-minute walk.
Dining Environment: The lighting is soft, and there are not many seats for dining in. The tatami seating at the entrance is very comfortable, and the music selection in the shop is also very good!
Ordering Method: Order at the counter.
Aged Curry Beef Cheek $280
Extremely delicious! There's a generous amount of curry sauce and rice; if you don't have a big appetite, it's recommended to ask the owner for less rice. The beef cheek is stewed very tenderly, and the aged curry flavor is not as spicy as Indian curry nor as sweet as typical Japanese curry, which suits my taste well. The marinated egg yolk on top of the rice is super tasty, complementing the rice perfectly. A cup of broth and pickled radish will be provided with the meal; it's simple but shows the owner's effort.
Aged Curry Chicken Katsu $280
The batter on the chicken katsu is quite unique, with great flavor, and the meat is very tender. It feels a bit more distinctive than the beef cheek.
Hiroshima Fried Oysters $120
Quite good fried oysters.
Grape Soda $60
Plum Cola $60
The drinks are rather ordinary, with flavors that are pretty much what you would expect.
It's recommended to make a reservation in advance as there are not many seats in the shop, and it gets busy easily, so it's likely to be full.
