Street Food | NT$60~NT$130

AI Spot Summary

The saltiness of the lard rice is on the heavier side, but the fragrance of the sauce and crispy shallots is unforgettable. The version with raw egg yolk is particularly well-received, while other dishes like sausage and grilled chicken skewers are somewhat ordinary.

The restaurant is located in an alley, decorated in a classroom desk and chair style, creating a nostalgic dining atmosphere. However, the seating arrangement is rather crowded, and the chairs are relatively low.

The staff arranges the seating, and the waiter's memory and coordination skills are outstanding, allowing for quick seating even in the crowd.

"Environment"
Located in the hidden alleys of the Guohua shopping district, the shop's decor and seating evoke a sense of nostalgia. The tables and chairs are reminiscent of everyone's elementary school days, with a more crowded seating arrangement and lower chairs, which are not very comfortable to sit on.

"Food"
📍 Raw Egg Yolk Lard Rice 💰45
📍 Fried Egg Lard Rice 💰50
One of the must-try dishes here; if you're okay with eating raw egg yolk, you must try it. Mix the rice and yolk evenly, and be sure to stir the lard and soy sauce underneath the rice well. The aroma is appealing, but the taste is on the salty side, initially delicious but can become a bit overwhelming later.

📍 Sausage 💰30
📍 Grilled Chicken Skewers 💰45
These snacks are neither particularly surprising nor bad; worth a try.

📍 Yo-yo Tiao 💰18

"Parking"
There are actually many parking lots near Guohua Street 🅿️, with most prices ranging from 💰30~45/0.5hr. If you're lucky enough, street parking is definitely the cheapest option. For those riding a motorcycle 🛵, the shop has a dedicated parking lot 🅿️, but please be mindful not to park haphazardly in the alleys, as it inconveniences local residents.

"Service"
Seating is arranged by the staff. Despite the large crowd that day, the staff's incredible memory and coordination skills allowed us to be seated quickly and enjoy our meal. Orders are called by number for pick-up.

[Four stars: Overall highly recommended, will visit again]
The reactions to this place seem quite polarizing; I'm definitely on the side of it being delicious!
This restaurant is located in a small alley, and it's basically always packed with people.
You can tell that the crowd is mostly young students or tourists.
Fortunately, there was one table available when we arrived, but while looking at the menu, we noticed a line forming next to us waiting to be seated 🍴.
However, there are indeed quite a lot of seats inside, so the wait shouldn't take too long.
(The seating here suddenly gives off a nostalgic vibe, like eating lunch during school—so cute with all the classroom desks and chairs…)

This place was the first eatery I tried on my trip to Tainan, and as expected, the prices in the southern region are really tempting 💓.
Since there were still so many places to try, the four of us ordered four items to share and were super satisfied after just a few bites 🤤.

𓌉𓇋 Raw Egg Yolk with Lard Rice $45
· The legendary moon-viewing lard rice. Beneath the white rice lies a lard sauce, topped with a raw egg yolk and crispy fried shallots. This simple combination is a traditional snack that tantalizes the palate.
This dish must be mixed! The egg yolk should coat every grain of rice to hit the mark. The sauce is mostly at the bottom of the bowl, so remember to stir it well! I think the saltiness is just right.

𓌉𓇋 Fried Egg with Lard Rice $50
· You can choose between fully cooked or soft-cooked eggs; I forgot to choose when ordering, and got one with a soft-boiled egg texture that resembles a runny yolk 🤣. If you prefer something with texture, go for the fried egg! Personally, I lean towards the raw egg yolk version that has a bit of stickiness.

𓌉𓇋 Grilled Chicken Skewers (two skewers per serving) $45
𓌉𓇋 Grilled Pork Skewers (two skewers per serving) $45
^ I think the skewers here are not the highlight, and I wouldn't want to order them again next time. Overall, they don't have much characteristic, but two skewers for $45 are quite cheap! I could order more if I didn't feel full.
The difference between the chicken and pork is super obvious; the pork is much drier and tougher. If you have to choose, the chicken has a better texture!
