After a while, I visited again, and this dining experience was: above average, but not perfect.
Smith & Wollensky has always been one of my favorite steak houses in Taipei. Since it opened, I have been coming back every so often. Located on the 46th floor of Breeze Nanshan, it offers a great view through large floor-to-ceiling windows, with a spacious and comfortable seating arrangement. This time I was lucky to be placed at a table by the window, though unfortunately, the air pollution was quite severe, affecting visibility.
At three in the afternoon, the place was packed. Why does everyone love eating steak at three? 😂
For lunch, I ordered the classic bone-in ribeye, which has a flavor that can't be replicated at home. Unfortunately, the doneness was not very consistent; some parts were cooked to perfection, while others were overcooked, which was a minor disappointment.
For the sides, I ordered potato pancakes, crab cakes, and creamy spinach. The potato pancakes were my first time trying them, and they were surprisingly delicious! Definitely worth a try!
