📍Ximen Station, Taipei

Located on Kunyang Street, about a 6-minute walk from the MRT station, the overall decor at the entrance is very Japanese, making it particularly eye-catching among the surrounding shops. I had previously eaten at the JiJiKun branch in Neihu and remember that after hiking up Jinmian Mountain, I headed straight there, arriving 40 minutes before opening time. Even then, I couldn't be in the first batch to enter, so I had to wait for about an hour. At that time, I thought the food was quite good, but considering the long wait, it slightly decreased my desire to return. Luckily, the new branch in Ximen doesn’t require a queue for lunch on weekdays!

Dishes 🥘

  • Salted Chicken White Soup Ramen / 300 TWD:
JiJiKun mainly sells ramen based on chicken broth, divided into three types: the richer chicken white soup, the lighter chicken clear soup, and the more complex flavor of the light soup. Please refer to the pictures next.
Salted Chicken White Broth Ramen / 300 NT dollars Generous amounts of green onions and onions are provided, and the broth is very rich. I heard that if it's too salty, you can ask the shop for some clear broth to add. The sous-vide chicken and sous-vide pork are both very tender while still retaining the original flavor of the food, which is quite outstanding.
The softness and hardness of the noodles are fixed, and I didn't see any adjustable options when ordering, but I think the hardness is just right.
It just so happens during the Olympics in France that the shop gave away badminton men's doubles gold medal, which has tender meat, simple seasoning, and is delicious.
The shop has a recommendation: the spicy powder on the right genuinely has some heat to it, with a hint of Sichuan pepper fragrance. It tastes somewhat similar to the Shichimi powder I bought from Hachiman-ya Isogoro in Karuizawa. I highly recommend adding a little if you enjoy spicy food, especially halfway through your ramen, to change up the flavor!
