This time I arrived at "A Qing Almond Tea" on Baohan Road in Tainan around 10 PM. Although it was close to closing time and many ingredients had already sold out, I still managed to get their signature almond tea. Personally, I actually prefer hot almond tea with youtiao (fried dough sticks), dipping them in while I eat, but this time only bottled iced almond tea was left.
This bottle of iced almond tea tasted rich and smooth, with a thicker texture and a faint natural almond aroma—it wasn’t that strong, sharp smell of artificial flavoring, making it a very pleasant drink. Even though I didn’t get any toppings this time, it was still satisfying on its own; the flavor was quite substantial, and I felt fulfilled after finishing it. The thickness even gave me a bit of a feeling of fullness, so if you’re in a situation where you’ve already eaten a lot for dinner but feel like drinking something, this almond tea might even make you feel even fuller; I felt a little stuffed after drinking it. 😆
The shop is located at No. 82, Baohan Road, Central-West District, Tainan, and it operates from noon till 11 PM. I recommend that if it's your first time visiting or you want a more complete experience—like having almond tea with youtiao, red beans, or tangyuan (glutinous rice balls)—it's safer to come early. Otherwise, like me this time, if you arrive late, you might just end up having tea. Still, even so, I felt it was worth it.
