This famous beef soup restaurant in Tainan recently launched a shabu-shabu pot, but after trying it, I found the experience to be mediocre, even somewhat disappointing.
The base price for the shabu-shabu pot is 250 TWD, but it only includes three pieces of beef brisket, which feels a bit lacking. The accompanying plate of tender beef costs 350 TWD, and the meat quality is a bit dry and tough, not meeting expectations.
The signature beef soup in the restaurant is still the highlight; the broth is rich and sweet, definitely worth trying. Therefore, I recommend sticking to ordering the beef soup and not bothering with the shabu-shabu pot.
There is still room for improvement with the shabu-shabu pot, so I’m saving you from disappointment—just order the beef soup here.
