The small bowl porridge recently opened in Taitung feels like it focuses on single servings of just the right amount of pot porridge and hot pot dishes, with a very clear positioning targeted towards everyday meals and quick solutions for food. The store's style is quite modern and simple, with a clean and bright overall space, making it an easy place for nearby office workers or anyone wanting hot food to try out this new spot.
I ordered the pork pot noodles. When it was served, its appearance was average, and the ingredient combination was quite common, lacking any surprising elements. The broth had a milder flavor, the pork was average in texture without any special marinated aroma or memorable characteristics; the noodles were cooked just right, not too soft, but the overall flavor was rather flat.
In terms of hot pot dishes, the small bowl porridge takes a safe, non-risky approach, with light seasoning. However, if one has high expectations for the pot noodles or hopes for a more pronounced broth flavor, this bowl may come off as slightly ordinary.
Overall, as a newly opened restaurant, the small bowl porridge has a decent standard in terms of environment and consistency in food delivery, but the dishes currently give a rather conservative impression. If they can add more distinctive flavors to the broth or ingredient combinations in the future, it might be easier for them to stand out among the many snacks and hot pots in Taitung.
