Since the Michelin Guide Taipei debuted in 2018, it has been selected every year as a Bib Gourmand recommendation. Is Chicken House really that good?

On the day we made a reservation, the restaurant was packed with people, and many visitors had to leave empty-handed.

The dining experience was not very pleasant; the environment was quite noisy, and we waited half an hour for our dishes. The older waitstaff members even lacked a unified communication process: one server came to tell us that a dish had not yet been prepared in the kitchen and asked if we wanted to wait. We informed them that we would cancel it. A second server then asked if the dish had arrived yet, and we informed them that we had already canceled it. Then a third server brought out that dish anyway...

As for the dishes themselves, there were indeed some remarkable aspects. We ordered a few individual soups, among which the "Bitter Melon and Pork Rib Soup" showcased its bitter and sweet flavors perfectly, and it paired well with fermented black beans. Here’s a brief description of the dishes:

"Three-flavored chicken" is a signature dish, with tender and flavorful meat that tastes very good, though it is a bit on the oily side.
"Chicken rice" is rice cooked in chicken broth, with its flavors infused throughout. The moist white rice mixed with chicken oil is extremely delicious, and before you know it, you've eaten several bowls.
"Chicken home tofu" is very suitable to pair with rice. The tofu is especially flavorful, which is quite rare, and the entire dish is harmonious.
The "patterned fish and apricot vegetable" has a good balance of seasoning, and the soft vegetables are also suitable for the elderly to consume.
The "egg pudding" seems to be a regular complimentary item at the restaurant, and it is also the dish most recommended by people online. The firm pudding pairs well with the caramel flavor, but the egg aroma is not very strong, possibly because there are too many delicious retro puddings in Taipei.
There is a rare apple cider.

雞肉專門店雞家莊,老字號店面,長年米其林常客,生意非常好,座位很多但還是需要訂位,店員多有資歷,代表老闆應該對員工還不錯,棒棒。 環境乾淨明亮上菜快速,白飯、雞油飯、粥可以吃到飽,雞肉為主的料理,店員推薦餐點份量都很好,餐點滿有特色、調味也都很剛好,整體都很喜歡,最後還有招待招牌大布丁,非常濃郁好吃。
