When in Chiayi, how can you not eat cold noodles?
So today I came to Huang's Cold Noodles and Cold Balls.
On weekdays, there's no need to queue for a table,
but you can still see a steady flow of customers arriving.
Here, whether dining in or taking away, a queue is necessary.
If you're dining in, you place your order, and then the staff will arrange your seating.
After that, you collect your food based on your number.
At the entrance, utensils and barley tea are available for you to help yourself.
Today, I ordered:
⭐️ Cold Noodles (Small) 💰50
A must-try in Chiayi, mayonnaise cold noodles.
The sauce consists of white vinegar (mayonnaise) + sesame sauce + garlic paste (let them know in advance if you don’t want garlic).
The wide, flat noodles soak up the sauce.
One bite after another, it was gone in no time!
⭐️ Cold Balls 💰40
I’ve only seen cold balls in Chiayi; they are like chilled meatballs.
QQ chewy dough paired with filling.
The sauce is again white vinegar (mayonnaise) + sesame sauce + garlic paste.
Before trying, you might wonder, "Can I eat this?!"
But once you do, just like the cold noodles, it’s one bite after another.
So delicious!
⭐️ Sweet and Sour Pickled Radish 💰35
I specifically ordered these pickled radishes to switch up the flavors.
They were pleasantly tangy and sweet!
In summary,
there are many places for cold noodles in Chiayi.
If you happen to be nearby, give this place a try.
Don’t miss out!
